Chapter 35: Lyra's Peril

"Run?" I repeated after her as I scoffed, she literally disappeared and left me just because I am a hybrid.

I took off and thankfully poaters aren't first because I moved past them like breeze.

"Aria seriously? How could you just disappear on me like that?" I was annoyed.

"You are really fast so I just assumed that you'd get here on time and look you did." Aria said with a shrug.

"I really can't believe you," I shook my head.

"Anyways what do we do next?" Aria asked.

"The Poaters already saw me thanks to you, so they will be on high alert searching for me. We need to replace Lyra and get out of here immediately because they'll be on high alert." I said to Aria. LYRA'S POV

"We need to get out of here now. I was told that a hybrid is on the grounds and he can't be spotted. We suspect he came for her." The doctor says quickly to his assistant who tries to move fast to loosen the chains they put on me. "Where are we going to go?" The assistant asked confused as he injected something into my body.

Suddenly I felt weak and I couldn't move.

"We are going to the other hideout. This place has been discovered by her people. Let's go now," the doctor said to his assistant. The assistant quickly carry me from the bed onto his slippery pale arm and ran in a mirror with me. We landed in a different place. It looked like a castle and it gave me chills. I had an eerie feeling to it.

I look around to see many poaters standing around while a man that looked twice their size addressed them.

"As we all know, we got discovered by a hybrid and a witch and we were forced to change our hideout but I can assure you all that you won't be discovered here. We will fasten the process. I have discussed with the priest for the ritual and he gave me an alternative which works well so, we will do that." The man said and everyone nodded.

"Soon, we will be the strongest species alive!" the king shouted and all the poaters cheered.

I rolled my eyes in disgust at how selfish and greedy this species was.

"I won't allow you follow through with your plans," I muttered and I am very sure the doctor and his assistant heard me but they ignored me like what I said was very irrelevant.

Little did they know that I already made plans for my escape.

KYLE'S POV

"Fuck! they took her already. The entire place is empty. It is like they all vanished into thing air," I shouted as I punched the wall.

I caught Lyra's scent and went to where she was and I saw nobody. The bed was still warm and had her scent in it which showed that Lyra's was here.

"Those sneaky Poaters. They saw you and they disappeared. Looks like they knew we were going to look for her and they came prepared." Aria said and I looked at her with murderous intent.

"And whose person's fault is that. it was all you fault! They saw me because of you. If you had just disappeared with me, they wouldn't have figured out and even if they did, it would have been too late." I said to Aria frustrated already. "Okay, I am sorry. I am at fault. I should have done it differently but if it makes you feel better, I got discovered. The king felt my presence," Aria said.

"Well, it changes nothing and I don't feel better about it but that is gone already. Let us search around to see if lyra left us any clues," I said to Aria.

"Okay then," She nodded and walked to the lab while I walked around the hospital bed exploring it like it was my new favorite thing.

I found a knot first and I touched it and realized it was hair.

"Lyra left her hair. I can track her through her hair!" I exclaimed excitedly.

Aria ran towards me to see what I found.

"Yes! I knew that Lyra was smart and she would leave clues she" said happily.

"Yeah, yeah," I rolled my eyes and she took us back to the witches havern.

LYRA'S POV

"Ahh!" I screamed in excruciating pain as the doctor cut through my skin muttering some words.

I knew they were using silver to cut through me because the would was not healing and it hurt like hell. My skin was literally burning and I knew it would leave a scar.

"Fucking Poaters!" screamed as tears formed in my eyes.

"Hahaha, I knew you had a funny side," The king said as he walked into the lab.

"You won't get away with this. you won't be able to get my powers," I said through gritted teeth.

"I am doing it already ain't I?" The king smirked.

"You'll fucking pay for this!" I screamed as they cut deeper into my skin at the sick king's command.

"And you are paying already. What do you think? Do you really think I didn't have alternative methods of taking your blood? I did, but this was more appealing. I really enjoy seeing you suffer. This is something I have been looking forward to for a while now," The king walked closer.

"I love seeing you in pain," He smiled psychotically as he put his two fingers into my wounds and pressed into it.

"Ahhhh!" I screamed crying as the pain got worse.

"I would really enjoy taking over the world thanks to you. Let me give you a hint of how I found out about your powers.

You know that little hunters group you live with? I have an ally who told me all about and being a smart king I decided to research about you and turns out he was right. So, I planned to use you to empower my people. Very smart right?"

"Your majesty she is losing blood quickly, she will die. There is not way to stop the blood flow. We used silver to cut her," The doctor said and that was the last thing I heard as my world turned black
