Chapter 40: Deceit in the Shadows

The bald man in a hench coat said to Ryker.

"Ryker, you have been letting that girl get stronger every day. You need to kill her. we have found out who she is and that is not good. She harnesses powers that could change or destroy the world. We don't need her here. We want her gone," "I know. My son is working on it," Ryker said as he swallowed.

"We don't need you son to work on it. Work on it yourself. We want her dead by the end of the week and that is final," the man said and then he walked out.

"I'll get going now. Please lyra don't go outside and out training will continue next week." Kyle said to Lyra then he turned around and left.

"I guess it's going to be just us then," Lyra smiled to Aria who turned around her room suddenly feeling guilty.

"I will not let you do anything to Lyra!" Kyle said in a heated argument with his father.

"We'll see boy. We will see," His father said with a dark look.

"I will kill you if you try to do anything to her," Kyle said.

"Even if you stop me from getting to her, you cannot stop others. They will get her eventually and what will you do then?" his father asked smiling.

"I won't allow it. If anybody will get to her, it will be me," Kyle looked at his father and smiled.

Ryker couldn't tell why but he sensed something really dark coming from Kyle and he couldn't help but be scared.

"W..W..What do you mean by that?" Ryker stuttered.

"That I will be the one to kill her and I really appreciate your help but I won't need it. I will be the one to kill Lyra, the daughter of the alpha of the moonlit pack," Kyle responded.

"What?! The daughter of the alpha of moonlit pack is dead. I killed her. I destroyed the entire pack. I killed Zeus, I killed his luna and I killed their daughter. She shouldn't be alive you must be mistaken." Ryker said feeling something was wrong. "Well, she got reincarnated and from what I have gotten, she is here to kill you and save all the species." Kyle smiled.

"K k kill me?" Ryker asked.

He was flabbergasted but he expected it. He was surprised he even lived this long but that didn't mean that he wanted to die yet.

"Yes, and I will let her. I will make her my luna. I will make sure she doesn't suspect anything and then, I will kill her," Kyle smiled at Ryker and Ryker nearly choked on his spit.

"This is not you Kyle. What happened to my son?" Ryker asked.

"Didn't you want me to be ruthless like you? Now I am ruthless you are complaining?" Kyle asked his father laughing.

"No, it's just that. ehm it was quite unexpected but...

"You don't need to say anything. Your days are numbered," Kyle said and walked off.

"I don't understand what is going on. I suddenly have a bad feeling about everything but I cannot explain it. It feels like something big is about to happen at the same time it feels like I know what it is but I cannot explain it." Lyra said to Aria who was avoiding meeting her eyes.

"Hm, I get what you mean," Aria smiled then she stood up suddenly.

"I am going to the garden," Aria walked out of the room.

I wonder what is going on with her. Lyra thought as she laid down and went off to dreamland.

"I can't just tell her yet. It will break her hear but it is killing me as I am hiding it from her. I don't know what to do?" Aria said to the woman on the veil.

"You have two choices either you tell her and watch her be heartbroken or let her replace out and cut you off. Either way the outcome won't be pretty but one will be better than the other. At least with the first choice she will see that you care about her and that is important. Because everyone wants to feel important and right now her state of mind is very fragile. She can easily be manipulated. I advise you to tell her before it becomes a problem." The veiled woman said and disappeared leaving Aria staring at the flowers.

"What am I to do?" Aria asked herself.

"What is the feedback from the mission?" The man asked.

"We will go there tonight. She will be killed tonight." The bald headed man in the trench coat said.

"Alright then, make sure to bring me her head," The man said as he blew out smoke.

The bald headed man signaled to his henchmen to move forward.

"I need you to get out of here Lyra, they are coming. I don't know who sent them but they are coming to kill you. I need you to leave now," Aria said in a hushed voice to Lyra. "Where do I go?" Lyra asked Aria.

"You are going with me," Aria smiled as she reached out to Lyra and disappeared.

I hope you forgive me, Aria thought as she looked at Lyra and smiled.

They appeared in the Kingdom of Alteria. The snow was heavy at that time of the year and they weren't dressed appropriately for the weather.

"I have a friend around here, we will stay in her house for now," Aria smiled at Lyra.

"What of Kyle? Won't he come along?" Lyra asked.

"No, Kyle will be fine," Aria smiled sweetly and held Lyra's hand and reappeared in a gothic castle.

"Merida! are you home?!" Aria shouted.

"Of course I am, if I wasn't do you think you would be able to walk in? And your voice is too loud," Merida smirked at Aria.

"Hi, I am Lyra," Lyra introduced herself to Merida.

'And I am Merida, Welcome to my home,' Merida smiled then looked at Aria and passed a message to her through her mind. "She doesn't know does she?"
