Chapter 82: Zeus's Deception

"Kyle, what is going on?" I asked him.

"I will explain this to you," Zeus smiled as he took a sit by my bed side.

"So, a treaty was to be signed between families and our families signed a treaty. Just as our ancestors always did and in that treaty, I was to be married to you mother, but the fates like playing dirty and Ryker was fated to your mother. I and your mother didn't know each other but all I knew was that your mother was in love with another man and that made me angry because I wasn't good enough for her and I hated Ryker for it. When she came to me, she was already pregnant with you. Her and Ryker had already made and that made me even more hateful because her wolf would never fully belong to me or my wolf. I decided to return the favor. I made Ryker power hungry and I controlled him from the inside. I made him my puppet and I made him train my son. If I was going to train his daughter, he would have to return the favor," Zeus laughed like he said something funny.

"I made Ryker attack our pack and everyone. I made him cause problem in between the species so they will come together and decide to be headed by one person. That was a genius plan wasn't it?" he smiled at me.

"Well personally, I would say that it was a genius plan. When he attacked our pack, he thought he had killed me but I escaped and he got your mother, and finally you. Then I heard you had been reincarnated and I sent him to kill you again, I sent Kyle too but I think he fell in love with you instead," Zeus laughed.

"You sound like a sick man," I spat in anger.

"Of course, I am sick. I accept that," He laughed.

He was starting to get on my nerves and I didn't like it, "I don't want to hear anymore. Please you can go away," I said to him.

"But I am still telling my story," he looked at me mockingly.

"I don't want to hear it anymore," I said and faced the other side and looked out of the window.

"I'll call in my son then, Kyle!" the called out to Kyle and he walked in as he eyed me with so much guilt in his eyes.

"Leave us," I said to Zeus who laughed and stood up.

"Kyle what is going on?" I asked as tears pooled in my eye and threaten to start falling out soon.

KYLE'S POV

I went out to buy Lyra flowers and take care of some business when I felt his presence. It was near and then I realized why he had been keeping quiet. He planned to come here and make his intention known. He wanted to mark his territory.

I hurried back to the pack in hopes of explaining everything to Lyra and hoping she would forgive me. Anything would be better than her replaceing out from the man I called my father.

He was ruthless and he will hurt her, he would spin the truth to favor him but out of everything what bothered me was that he would hurt her. it rang continuously in my head as I hurried home.

As soon as I got to the pack I felt his present it was too late. My heart sank and my anxiety levels grew. My wolf was restless and I knew it was because he felt like he would lose his mate. I was restless too.

I walked towards the place where I saw people gathered and I saw his face and he was smiling at me mockingly as if calling me weak.

"Father," I called out.

Lyra looked at me in shock when I called him father and that was when I regretted everything that was going on because I hadn't told her yet. I suddenly started to wish I had listened to Merida and I had told her everything.

My mate had been unconscious for two days and all I could think about was her while my father disturbed me with his own blueprints and his plans to change up free town.

When he heard that she had woken up, he laughed and said, "this will be fun," as we walked towards the hospital.

My wife said she wanted to see me but he told me to wait outside that he wanted to talk to her about something and instead of me to refuse and confront him that I want to stay with my wife, I went outside. I heard everything he told her and I felt all her emotion and how sad and hurt she felt.

I want to be there with her and there for her but she probably hates me now.

My father called me and when I went in Lyra made it clear that she wanted to talk to me.

"Kyle what is going on?" she asked me as tears pooled in her eyes and I quickly held her.

I hugged her and she started crying.

"Kyle please explain what is going on to me. Please how is my father your father and what is all of this I am hearing?" she asked me crying.

"Lyra I am sorry." I said.

I didn't know what to do. I felt very conflicted because I have been without my father for years and I wanted his approval on the other hand was my wife, that I loved very much but I didn't want to go against my father. "He said you tried to kill me, he said you were his puppet," Lyra said to me.

"He told me to but I didn't. I love you Lyra there is no way I will try to kill. I am sorry. I just wanted his approval," I pleaded with her.

I couldn't help but feel this was the beginning of the end
