Chapter 6
TESSA’S POV
The soft glow of the morning sunlight filtered through the curtains casting a warm hue in the room where I lay with my newborn sons. The events of the past months replayed in my mind like a haunting melody each tone resonating with Betrayal, heartache and a thirst of revenge. I hadn’t slept a wink, my troubled mind was far too busy thinking of everything I had gone through and what my next move would be.
My gaze fell upon the three beauties sleeping peacefully beside me, their innocent faces giving off a sense of purity that contrasted sharply with the darkness that surrounded their conception, I felt a surge of determination course through my veins, I had suffered enough to simply just fade into obscurity and accept my fate. I wanted to battle it out, if not for my sake but for the sake of my children.
I took a deep breath and sat up, stroking the soft check of the baby closest to me.
“I haven’t even thought of names” I muttered, a year threatening to roll down my check–just what kind of future was I planning to give them? I wanted to stay strong for them but I felt like a wreck.
For some reason, anytime I looked at any of them, his face came to mind – Adrian. He bore a striking resemblance to his children, it still hurt to think that he actually believed that I would cheat on him, what happened to the 3 years of promises. we made? Did that not mean anything to him when he threw me out like he was waiting for an accusation like that?
I laughed quietly, I was feeling a rollercoaster of emotions now as I thought of Adrian love, anger, sadness and a burning desire for retribution.
I needed answers fast, I wanted to know more. Why did Adrian reject me so easily? Why did Will say that Adrian had orchestrated my death? Was Adrian really impotent as claimed? It couldn’t be because here I was looking at his children then why did he say he was impotent? Just what exactly was going on in that pack?
Gently covering the babies better with a cloth in their makeshift crib, I struggled to get up, my muscles straining with the childbirth. Ignoring the dull ache I felt, I stood up on wobbly legs and went into the kitchen where I found Gabe in the cramped kitchen, preparing a simple meal of porridge and tea. His expression softened when he saw me, a warm smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
“Good morning, Tessa ” he said smiling warmly at me.
I inhaled deeply and forced a smile through chapped lips
“How are you feeling today” He asked, his gaze unwavering.
“I’ve been better” I admitted, lowering myself unto the creaky wooden chair beside me.
There was uncomfortable silence as he watched me quietly.
“I’ll be fine, I want to discuss something with you” I said knitting my hands together.
His eyes furrowed in concern as he poured steaming tea into a chipped mug and slid it across the table to me.
I managed to catch the mug with trembling hands- I was weak and I knew Gabe noticed also with the worried expression
on his face.
“You need rest, Tessa” He finally spoke out.
I shut my eyes and took a swig of the scalping liquid in the mug, relishing the warmth that spread through my body.
“I’m fine, I need to know more about Adrian. I want answers, I want to get answers…”
“You know I don’t have answers because I’m…” he began to say

Chapter 6
I held my aching head in my hands.
“I know, I know. You’re rouge so you wouldn’t know, I just… I need your help. Please just listen to me” I said
@x3.71%
“You know that I’ll always be here to listen to you so tell me, what’s bothering you this fine morning?” He asked.
I kept mute, my head a swirling pool of thoughts.
Gabe looked over at the direction of the room where my children lay.
I traced his eyes and sighed.
“Gabe, those children….. Adrian” Tears began to swell in my eyes.
His eyes softened and he came closer to me, placing his warm hand on my shoulder
“Why do you think Adrian lied to me about his potency?” I asked, my voice cracking with emotions.
He removed his hand from my shoulder and walked over the counter where he poured tea into another cup before leaning on the counter, the mug between his palms.
“I’m not a wise man but I think it’s safe to assume that Adrian actually believes he is impotent” Gabe said nodding quietly.
I felt bile rise in my throat and it took all my willpower to force it back.
“Why would he think that?”
Gabe smirked and put the mug to his lips.
“What’s the name of the doctor?” He asked
Will. I felt anger surge up my veins.
“Will..”
Gabe raises his eyes over his cup and sent me a weird look
“You’ve told me your story several months ago and I expected you to put the pieces together. It’s typical pack politics… what do you think is happening?”
My head went blank then it hit me and my eyes widened and I looked at Gabe in shock.
“Do you mean Adrian may not have known anything about this but is being manipulated by Will?” I asked.
Cabe shrugged
“I’m sure Tess, I’m not sure” he repeated
The name echoed in my mind like a death knell, stirring memories of the man who had once been my friend, my confidant, and ultimately, my betrayer. Will had always harbored resentment towards Adrian, jealousy that festered beneath the surface until it consumed him entirely.
“He did this to tear us apart,” I whispered, the pieces of the puzzle finally falling into place. “He wanted to destroy us, to destroy everything we had.”
I rose from the table immediately with a single thought running in my mind–revenge.
