With I scia sticking around and Harry trapped in

situation, he had no choice but to stay over, and that meant sharing a room with Julia.

Right then, Julia and Harry were awkwardly staring at each other, clueless about how to ease the tension.

Julia coughed lightly and asked somewhat unnaturally, "So, where are you planning to sleep tonight?

"The bed, Harry answered briefly, lounging back with his legs crossed, hands folded over his lap. He gazed calmly at julia and thought, 'Is she expecting me to volunteer to sleep on the couch? Hat why should

"That's not going to work. Their's a couch in the rooms. You can sleep on the couch Julia pointed toward the nearby sofa. "It might be a bit of a squeere, but it's better than us sharing a bed. I'm quite restless. I kick the covers, snore, and sometimes even talk in my sleep," she said, muking her sleeping habits sound downright horrifying, hoping Harry would back off.

"And to?" Harry glanced at her.

"So, in order not to mess with your sleep quality, you sleeping on the couch would be better. That way, you won't have to deal with my snoring, sleep talking, or teeth grinding," Julia said, sitting cross-legged in from of him, most serious

Harry sneered. "I couldn't care less." Clancing at Julia's pained expression, he added, "Mom is staying over tonight. You really want her to know we've been sleeping in separate beds all this time?

Of course, Julia didn't want that. She dropped her gare, feeling defeated. "But Tim not used to sleeping with someone else.

not going to do anything. You can rest assured," Harry said.

Hearing that, Julia instantly hugged herself. "How can I be certain! If you try something while I'm asleep, what then?"

Harry scoffed at Julia's figure. "With your figure, even if you stood naked in front of me, I wouldn't be interested."

Julia laughed coldly. "Fine, just remember you said that."

Her pride and joy-her body-was always scorned by Harry. She used to argue with him about it, but now she treated his comments like nothing.

"If you're really not comfortable sleeping together, then feel free to take the couch, Harry suggested.

This is my room: why would I sleep on the couch? Plus, a couch is nowhere near as comfy as the bed Julia thought. She wasn't willing to give in, and any more words exchanged with Harry would only be pointless. Tuming around, she headed to the bathroom to freshen up. Staying any longer and talking to Harry was likely to make her blood boil.

The room was still filled with Julia's scent after she left, Harry, left alone on the couch, chuckled, recalling how Julia had deliberately thrust out her chest as she walked away as if to challenge his taste.

Just like men couldn't stand being cold they didn't measure up, women would never back down on looks and figures.

Harry's

slips curved into a smile. The sound of running water from the bathroom reminded him of Julia's bold behavior after she was drugged, and his thoughts began to wander

If Julia could just be gentler, he might actually replace himself liking her. But she never seemed to learn how to soften.

If it weren't for Lucia's visit today, he and Julia might still not be talking. Because of Arya, Julia had been indifferent toward him.

Julia came out of the bathroom wearing a very modest nightgown, her hair wet and hanging down. As she dried her hair, she kept sneaking peeks at Harry, afraid he might be staring at her.

"Aren't you going to tell Arya you're staying here tonight? 1 don't want her showing up and causing trouble just after getting out of the hospital," Julia said

Harry had already informed Arya, but sering Julia's hinting tone, he couldn't help but retort, "Arya never spoke ill of you from the start. Why can't you seem to get past this?"

"Ol, so you're saying I should be thankful she's not holding a grudge against me?" Julia tossed the towel in Harry's direction with disdain. but I'm just that petty. If you feel so bad for Arya being wronged, then just divorce me." She looked at him coldly. "If you agree, we can Im trying to have a reasonable discussion here; I never mentioned divorce. Can you try to reign in your temper a bit?" Harry said.

"Hut you're implying I'm the one at fault and believing I attacked Arya first. Her heam condition is her problem. If she hadn't been looking for trouble, none of this would've happened. You're free to ask the household staff if you don't believe me" Julia couldn't stand Harry l Chapter 40

"I didn't say I don't believe you, Harry said.

"Don't lie to me, Harry. Do you think I'm a child? I know how important Arya is to you, so as long as she leaves me alone, I won't bother her," Julia said colilly. "Just keep an eye on her and leave me lie,"

Julia lost interest in continuing the conversation. Picking up the towel, she resumed drying her hair, ignoring whatever Harry said. Even when Harry called Arya, Julia acted unaffected, busy with her own things. The room tumed unusually quiet and tense

Julia heard Harry speaking softly to Arya, his tone gentler than usual. Perhaps in front of the one they love, even the toughest guy shows a tender side. But it's Arya who brings out Harry's tenderness, not me," she thought. Julia lay down after drying her hair, and Harry went to the bathroom. She ignored him, browsing on her phone and watching videos. Even when Harry came out, she maintained the same posture, facing away from him. Harry's movements in bed startled Julia, causing her to sit up instantly. Seeing Harry, she lay back down as though nothing happened, her heart racing. This was the first time they were lying in the same bed together. Harry said nothing, dimming the bedside lamp. The room darkened, and Julia, facing away from Harry, quietly let out a sigh of relief. She lay on her side, put down her phone, and closed her eyes, but she just couldn't fall asleep. Harry, however, fell asleep in seconds.

Under the dim light, Julia slowly opened her eyes. Behind her, Harry's steady breathing filled the silence. Driven by insomnia and curiosity, Julia turned around to face him.

With his eyes tightly shut, Julia noticed up close that Harry's eyelashes were long and curled. His serene, sleeping face looked more appealing and gentle than when awake.

Julia reached out from under the coven, curious about Harry's nose. But before her hand made contact, a strong hand suddenly emerged from the darkness and accurately caught Julia's wrist

Startled, Julia tried to pull away. Harry, however, opened his eyes and locked his gaze with the caught Julia. Their eyes met, and Julia's cheeks were burning with embarrassment.
