Chapter 48

Abden was taken aback to see Harry staring off into space, a rarity for the man who once said time was too precious to waste daydreaming. Every minute for Harry was an opportunity to generate wealth beyond what most could imagine. Something's really off with Mr. Wright lately, Alden thought. He knew how important Arya was in Harry. Yet ever since Arya had returned after a three-

year absence, Harry's attitude toward her had shifted indescribably. Alden einidn't guess what Harry was thinking, but he did notice Harry seemed much happier around Julia

Regaining focus, Harry noticed Alden's furrowed brows and the curious tre fixed on him. He asked, "Is time meant for you to daydream! Got nothing else to do?"

Startled, Alden snapped back to reality. How could he not have anything else to do! He was so busy that even grabbing a drink of water had to be precisely scheduled. Working by Harry's side, one could give up expecting to rest whenever they wished. "Mr. Wright, I'll get right on it Alden said as he rushed out of the office.

Harry's mind wasn't on the papers in front of him, Julia had teased him that morning on her way out, and the memory of her meaningful smile as she departed put him in a sour mood.

work

Harry tried to focus on the hand but was interrupted by a call from the private nurse at the hospital-Arya was insistent on being discharged.

Harry moremanly pushed thoughts of julia aside and strode out of his office. Alden promptly stood up, ready to act. "Get the car. We're going to the hospital, Harry ordered

Despite efforts to keep them secret, Harry's frequent visits to Arya couldn't escape the smart Lucia

Julia quite liked being invisible. Her only request to Harry was to handle the situation with Arya properly, and she'd happily stay out of it

However, word must've leaked because as soon as Harry's car appeared at the hospital entrance, Alden's sharp eye

eyes caught sight of the paparazzi hiding behind the flower beds. He immediately made a sharp turn, driving away from the entrance

"Mr. Wright, there are paparazzi around. We shouldn't stay here." Alden cautioned.

Harry squinted. How did the paparazzi learn of my whereabouts so quickly! Someone must've tipped them off about me coming to the hospital" he thought

Although Alden's quick detour avoided the paparazzi, they still managed to snap a photo and recognized Harry's swiftly departing car.

Arya was frustrated when Harry couldn't visit her at the hospital. Ignoring the protests of the nurses and doctors, she resolutely declared, "I need to be discharged today. I know my body, there's absolutely no need for me to stay in the hospital any longer." Arya couldn't let Harry and Julia have more time together. She felt increasingly aware of the changes in Harry.

She had missed out on three years of Harry's life, and that time could change a person drastically. She wasn't even sure if Harry loved her now or the girl he remembered from their younger days.

Panic had spread through Arya, and with Lucia's meddling, her trust in Harry was starting to waver.

"Miss Hill, Mr. Wright specifically instructed that you cannot be discharged without his permission, the nurse said, replaceing herself in a tough spot. She couldn't forget Harry's instructions, but Arya was determined, and no one except Harry could handle her when she got like t Harry sat in the car, parked by Alden in a quiet spot. Calls from the nurse flooded in, and a sudden idea crossed Harry's mind.

******After taking a few days off, Julia returned to work, only to be greeted by a mountain of pending tasks. She felt overwhelmed.

Sitting next to her, Valerie cast her a sympathetic glance before nodding toward her own pile of work. "Same here," she said, clearly too swamper offer Julia any help

Kathy was a perfectionist. Not only did she hold herself to high standards, but she also expected the same from those around her. Had Julia not been so capable, Kathy would never have tolerated her taking time off during her internship at such a casual frequency. With no time to waste, Julia dove into her work with full concentration,

The office was silent, with everyone buried in their tasks and hardly any time for chatter. Break times, however, were a different story; colleagues would gather in groups to head to the pantry, an event Julia seldom participated in.

By the time the office had thinned out, leaving only a few people still working, Julia looked around, exhaustion evident on her face. Valerie was still diligendy at work

Feeling her eyes becoming sore and strained, Julia decided to take a brief break and glanced at her phone, noticing three missed calls from Harry.

all within the last five minutes.

By now, Julia had become immune to Harry's calls, and since Valerie knew about her and Harry's relationship, she didn't feel the need to step away to answer his call. Besides, with hardly anyone left in the office, Julia couldn't be bothered to move. When Harry called again, she answered without

hesitation

Before Julia could speak, Harry's command came through the phone. "Come down now. I'm waiting for you outside your office"

"I'm at work," Julia responded without a second thought. "Why should I just leave because you said so? That's not how it works."

Tm giving you five minutes. If you don't come down, I'm coming up. If you're fine with everyone knowing you're my wife, I'll be there right now? Harry threatened, knowing exactly how to pressure Julia

This tactic was always effective with Julia. Covering the mouthpiece, she tried to control her temper and muttered through clenched teeth, "Just wait I'll be right down."

"Five minutes," Harry insisted.

Julia glanced at the time, knowing Harry meant exactly five minutes-not a second more. He would come up if she delayed. To keep their marriage under wraps at work, Julia hurried to wrap things up. Noticing her frantic behavior, Valerie asked, "What's wrong?"

"Valerie, something came up, and I need to step out. If Ms. Powell asks for me, could you cover for me and say I'll be back shortly?" Julia said. She just hoped Harry was reaching out because he truly had something important. Otherwise, she wasn't going to let him off the ""Hey, what's so urgent that you have to leave now?" asked Valerie.

Julia grabbed her bag and quickly left the office, knowing she didn't have much time. She jogged to where Harry was waiting and Harry was

checking his watch. "Just in time"
