"Asher, what did I do? Why are you so angry?" Jessica mustered her courage and spoke to Asher. Although she usually acted like a tyrant in the company, she did not even dare to do so in front of Asher.
Asher was expressionless as he stared at Jessica like the Grim Reaper. If his mother had not spoken up for Jessica, he would never have let Jessica join his company.
"Don't think I don't know what you usually do. You're doing whatever you want just because you're my cousin. Jessica, if you don't want to stay, get lost as soon as possible. My company is not suitable for you." Asher's words were unpleasant and direct. Jessica was spoile Jessica pursed her lips and tears welled up in her eyes. She said pitifully and aggrievedly, "Asher, what are you saying? I didn't do anything overboard. I just feel that an intern like Julia is not serious about her work since she takes leaves all the time."
Asher interrupted Jessica. "You don't have to worry about Julia. You just have to mind your own business. If you want to continue staying in the company, don't cause trouble for me. Otherwise, even I won't be able to protect you."
Jessica was shocked by Asher's words. She thought, 'Where did this Julia come from? I have been
mean to many interns before. However, Asher never spoke up for them. Julia is the first to have Asher do this for her. He even wants to protect her. Does Asher like Julia?"
"Asher, tell me the truth. Does Julia have any background? I think she's just a poor person. You..." Before Jessica could finish speaking, she was interrupted by Asher again. He looked at Jessica coldly and warned again, "Jessica, you'd better behave yourself. Otherwis one."
Jessica pursed her lips and did not dare to speak again when she saw Asher's expression. She could only leave the office resentfully. As she walked, she wondered who might be behind Julia that could make Asher act this way. Asher even specially warned her not to offend Julia.
Jessica returned to the office and looked meaningfully at Julia. She thought, 'She is pretty and has a nice body. However, what exactly makes her different from others?'
Sensing a strange gaze, Julia suddenly looked up and realized that a male colleague not far away from her was staring at her intently. To be precise, he was looking at her with a loving gaze.
Julia's head hurt. She quickly lowered her head and focused on her work until that person came forward to greet her.
Julia had no choice but to look up and be polite to him.
The man asked, "Julia, are you free tonight? I want to treat you to dinner."
"Sorry, I'm not free tonight," Julia replied without hesitation.
Valerie immediately put her arm around Julia's shoulder and looked at her male colleague with a smile. "Otis, don't have any ideas about Julia. She has a boyfriend."
Otis Shaw/ was stunned for a moment as if he did not believe it. He looked at Julia for confirmation. Julia nodded silently. "Yes, I have a boyfriend."
At this moment, Grant was a little embarrassed. Jessica, who happened to see everything that happened, rushed out like a person who was defending justice. She mocked Julia, "Do you really think you're very beautiful? Why do you assume that he likes you just becaus you and wants to pursue you?"
At this moment, Julia frowned. The embarrassment on Otis's face indeed made her not know what to do.
Otis had always helped her at work. She did not want to hurt Otis, so she rejected him just now. She did not expect Valerie to suddenly say that she had a boyfriend. In fact, she did not think that Otis wanted to pursue her.
Valerie waved her hands helplessly and explained in a panic, "Otis, don't misunderstand. Don't listen to Jessica's nonsense. I was just spouting nonsense just now. I didn't say that you wanted to pursue Julia..." Valerie was making more mistakes. She looked at the embarrassed Otis, then at Julia, and at Jessica, who was deliberately looking for trouble. She was as anxious as an ant on a hot pan.
Fortunately, Otis was silent for a moment before saying, "I'm fine."
Otis looked at Julia. "Actually, I like you and want to pursue you. But since Valerie said that you have a boyfriend, let's be friends. I hope that you and your boyfriend can be happy."
Otis's understanding moved Julia. Without waiting for Julia to speak, Otis smiled and said to Jessica, "Jessica, I have to thank you. If it weren't for you, I might not have the courage to tell Julia that I like her." These words made Jessica so angry that her expression changed. However, Otis smiled at her. Before he turned around and left, he continued to

invite Julia to dinner tonight. "Tonight, we'll treat it as an invitation to establish our friendship. If you don't want to come, then forget it."
Otis's gentlemanly behavior made Julia have a good impression of him. Even if they could not be lovers, she still felt that it was nice to be his friend.
Jessica didn't get what she wanted and left with a dark expression.
Valerie patted her chest and whispered into Julia's ear, "Jessica is like a ghost. She's everywhere." Then, she continued to ask, "Otis asked you out for dinner tonight. Are you going?" Julia said, "Yes. Otis is so carefree. I can't be shy. Besides, we're colleagues. We'll see each other often in the future. We can't just stop interacting because of such a small matter, right?" Valerie nodded. "I think you're also very carefree."
Julia smiled and did not say anything. Valerie whispered again, "But Jessica and the others will definitely think that you're a bitch since you don't like Otis but don't openly reject him."
Julia rolled her eyes. She didn't care about those things.
"Come join dinner with me tonight," Julia said with a smile.
Valerie thought for a moment. "Aren't you having a conflict with Harry? If the paparazzi took photos of you and Otis eating, would Harry let you off?"
Upon hearing Harry's name, Julia expressed disgust. "What does it have to do with him? Can't I have some normal social interaction of my own?" Valerie said, "That's true, but the paparazzi..."
Julia said, "It's fine. We have a clear conscience. We're all colleagues. It's normal for us to have dinner after work, right?"
Valerie had always been a little worried. She had a feeling that something was going to happen tonight, but she did not have a suitable reason to convince Julia not to go. She also thought that Julia was right. It was a normal coworker's gathering. The more Julia avoided it Valerie moved her chair and returned to her seat. She only stretched after getting off work. Julia was still working hard. She patted Julia's shoulder and Julia looked up at her in confusion.
Valerie said, "It's time to get off work. Otis has already sent me the place to eat. We'll go over after you pack up."
