” You hurt her again ” he growled at me as our paws pounded the forest floor. ” Shut up ” I said back. I know I had. I didn’t mean to. I’ve never meant to. But it was like I couldn’t control it. Saying that about mates and s**t , that was the type of speech Alpha’s gave to their packs. Installing our beliefs and hopes. I couldn’t very well say what I wanted to say about the fates , it would cause an uproar and c*****e. ” I agreed to your terms and conditions when it came to our mate, as long as we protected her and didn’t hurt her . You are not following our agreement. This is all wrong ” he snaps back at me.

He had reluctantly gone along with us, spending the week with our mate , as long as he didn’t force me into mating with her. It was that or nothing. But he had told me he would only if it was what our mate continued to want , and only if our mate was not hurt or upset when this all ended. Basically, one small whiff he got of Anthea wanting this and all bets were off. Which wasn’t looking good, as Anthea was showing signs of her wanting us to mate with her. ” Did you feel the pack’s shock and disapproval , even their disgust at her beautiful wolf? Did you also feel some of the pack’s hatred? Her doing this is only angering her. Imagine if she stood up as there luna. Dad has this all wrong. He is trying to enforce changes of beliefs too quickly”. I tried to reason with him.

Dad would also be fuming with me that i took her and ran from the pack. He wanted her to be seen running with all of us. Accepted by all of us. But if I am honest , I would have started ripping heads off if I had to stay and hear or feel the way they were all feeling about her. Their reaction was not promising to them accepting her. Not in the slightest. I ran to save myself , from me exposing both of us. Me going on a raged killing spree would have raised quite a few questions.

“These are all idiots ” he said simply. ” She is special , her wolf is special. ” I was about to ask what he meant by that , when I caught scent of someone following us. Grounding us to a halt , I span us around. Quickly jumping over Anthea so she was behind us. Our eyes scanned the trees and I spotted a wolf dashing between them. The wolf was not trying to hide itself. And I had run me and Anthea away from the pack. Not exactly the best first impression of me starting a pack run. Bolting off away from the pack, I was to be leading with the object of their putrid thoughts and feelings.

As the wolf sneered , I looked back to see Antheas Wolf standing proud . That was definitely not Antheas doing. I could feel her worry and fear through the bond that had started forming. Her wolf was in full control right now. As the wolf got closer and closer, I knew who it was. Tiffany , i had seen her in wolf form many times and her scent was a dead give away. She changed from her wolf to her human , strolling towards us naked like she was on a catwalk. Her eyes kept flicking behind me and I tried to get a read on her thoughts , but with the whole pack in full wolf mode, it was hard to pick out and focus just on hers. Dad said I would get used to it and get better at it. Plus, she seemed to be being cagey with her thoughts. Not surprising, Tiffany was a manipulative b***h. I knew whatever she was doing here would be her playing some sort of game.

” I would like a little chat with you both , so if you do not mind “, she waved her hand at us arrogantly. My wolf growled at her and stepped forward menicingly. He didn’t want her here , he didn’t want her anywhere near Anthea. She actually laughed at him. ” Nope , you don’t want to be doing that, trust me. You want to hear what I have to say ” she smiled smugly. She looked behind her. ” Not here though , we have company coming our way. You would both do your best to follow me. Because if you don’t , that little thing behind you will be the one to pay for your mistakes. “

She shifts and bolts , looking back at Anthea. Her wolf was already following Tiffany’s . I chase and catch up , getting in front of Antheas and turning on her. ” She wants to see what she wants ” my wolf says. ” No , we are not playing whatever game she is playing “. He huffs ” She says come or not she is going. ” Wait what ? When I had missed the part where he could talk to Anthea through a mind link. ” Not her i***t , her wolf ” .

” How you are not bonded together ?” he chuffs in my mind. ” Because she allows me to, she’s special. I told you ” Antheas moves around me and takes off chasing after Tiffany again. It took me a whole couple of minutes following them to realize where Tiffany was taking us. My hackles raised and I knew whatever was about to happen was going to be bad. Tiffany didn’t stop until we reached the cave , the one me and Anthea had spent the last few nights.

She shifted back and turned to look at me smirking. She f*****g knew , it was written all over her face , the way she stood with her arms crossed over her naked chest. “Come on shift the two of you ” she wagged her finger between us. I didn’t. I kept looking at Antheas Wolf. Waiting to see what she would do.

I watched as the fur started disappearing from Antheas’ body and her form started taking back shape. Once done, she stood looking petrified , her arms wrapped around her body. Her eyes wide. It made me furious to see. I shifted back and stood with my fists clenched at my side. ” Well, what a show that was back there. What exactly did you want to achieve, Anthea ? More hatred and shame for your family ? I mean that wolf of yours is as pathetic as you are “, she laughed, looking at Anthea. Anthea winced , her body tensed. I growled ” Watch it ” at Tiffany. My nostrils flaring , my chest rising and falling as anger made me pant. I felt myself losing control.

Tiffany looked at me and looked me up and down with a sneer. ” You are just as pathetic , all the sexiness and strength and power for what her ? ” I took a step forward ready to rip her head off. ” How dare you speak to me that way ? I am your future alpha. I could rip your heart from your chest without even raising my heart beat “, I warned her. She rolled her eyes and shrugged one shoulder ” You could , but you wont ” she said, sounding bored. ” Do you want to bet on that ?” I said lowly. She narrowed her eyes at me , then walked off into the cave. She walked out seconds later with the blanket we had used in one hand and something else in the other.

” I would actually , but then your secret would be out ” she lifted her arm and pressed a button on the black little box she had in her hand. The next thing that happened had my heart freezing in my chest. From the black box , Antheas’ voice could be heard. She was talking about us. Pretty much explaining all our situation. Then Peters pissed off voice. ” He should be man enough to fight for his mate ” he growled. I looked across at Anthea and she was pale and frozen in place with her mouth hanging open.

” I set this little beauty up in there a few nights ago. It has all sorts of fun stuff on it. Stuff the pack and the alpha would be shocked to hear. How his son is mates with that thing and that he’s denying her. I mean I understand that part. If I had a weak mate like that, I would reject it too. But all that steamy s*x and confessions, erggghhh how you even touched that thing is beyond me , that bit I don’t understand. It is vile, but I guess your dad would most likely accept her, especially when your father is working so hard for the pack to accept her. I mean the pack did not look one bit accepting at all back there. So I wonder what replaceing out about you two would do. It is such a tricky situation, right ?”

She smells the blanket and then gags ” Ripe with s*x “. She drops the blanket and looks directly at me. ” If you are thinking of killing me , this is all backed up. I have also taken the pillow you guys used. If I disappear, that will all appear “she says with no hint of a lie or bluffing. ” How ?” I asked her. She raises a brow. ” Well, for one, you blew me off , and then you jumped in and helped her in that fight. You don’t do anything for anyone unless it somehow benefits or affects you. So I was intrigued , so I followed you to her window that night. Then she got a job at your house. Oh and then I followed you to the river , then here blah blah blah. Simple really , I was seeing what my future mate was upto. I have always kept my eye on you, Enzo , since we were kids I have known every girl you have ever been with. Your schedule everything. You studied being an alpha , I studied being a good Luna and mate to you. To do that, you had to be my main priority and I had to learn everything about you ” she smiled at me , like that sentence was sane.

Then her expression changed. ” What I did not count on was me not being your fated mate ” she said, looking deranged. ” I was meant to be yours and you mine. So , I just had to wait until yours came along and then I would have to get rid of her somehow. I was more than happy when it was her and you were rejecting her. But then I hear you plan to bond with some girl you have never even met before. Over me , I should have been your choice. So , seen as you can not be trusted to make the right choices. I have had to resort to tactics I did not want to. And that is simple, really. Blackmail ” she smiled.

She shook the box at me. ” You bond mate with me to break the two of yours bond and this all remains our secret. You refuse and this is all over the pack “. For once in my life I was at a loss for what to say. I knew Tiffany was a manipulative b***h , but this exceeded any expectations of what I thought of her. ” Enzo ” Anthea whispered. I looked at her numbly. ” You don’t have to do this , we can just tell the truth and let the cards fall where they fall. We can deal with this together. I don’t want you unhappy all of your life.” She glanced across at Tiffany ” She only holds power if we let her “. Anthea was choosing to be strong. But she could not sense that packs feelings earlier like I could. She did not know the pack like I did. Something I had always been proud of before , now made me feel repulsed. We remained strong as a pack because we surrounded ourselves with beliefs passed down through generations that there was no room for the weak. The pack would not accept Anthea as Luna.
