Paris’ POV

I have been training for the last two weeks. We have not seen Maden since she got kicked out of the Ravenstone Pack. I think I am ready to face my grandfather and grandmother, who also did not want me. I sometimes wonder what is wrong with me that no one in my family really cares about me. My father and London have grown close, but I do not trust him and keep him at a distance. Ben is okay but moody lately. I can not blame him, since my father ignores him like he does not even exist. I feel sorry for the little guy as he tries hard to win back my father’s affection.

“Ben, you do not have to please everyone. Look at me. I am not loved by many, but I only please those I love,” I say to him the day before I leave for England.

“I know. Will you be gone for long? I want you to stay with me,” Ben says. He looks sad.

“I do not know how long I will be gone, but I want you to stay with London and the rest of her men. London loves you as much as I love you. You are our little brother, and we will not forsake you,” I say.

“I like London, but she is not you. I want to go with you. I know I was awful to you, and I am sorry. I love you, Paris. You are my big sister, and I want you to train me,” Ben says.

“Forget about the past. What happened in the past was not your fault. It was Maden’s fault. She is evil, and you must promise me you will never go near her again,” I say. I feel sorry that I could not train Ben more. I am sure he will be able to kick Maden’s a*s if he has to, but I am afraid he will return to her when he feels rejected.

“I hate her, Paris. I do not want to see her again,” Ben says. I keep forgetting he is only thirteen. He is big for his size, and I know he will be a great warrior one day.

“When I get back, we will get our revenge on the Ravenstone pack. I promise you,” I say.

“I will train hard and wait for you, sis,” Ben says.

“I am proud of you. Now, no more crying. You are too big for tears,” I say. I am also close to tears, and I hate to cry. It is a show of weakness!

“I promise no more tears,” Ben says.

I get up at dawn and wait for Jeffrey and Wallis. They have packed my bags, and I can only imagine what Jeffrey, Wallis and London put in them. So, today I am leaving for London. We are going on a private jet, and I am glad as it will be the first time I fly. I am afraid I will get sick or something, and then Jeffrey and Wallis will laugh at me. I am not looking forward to England. I hear it is a gloomy place, and it always rains there. I know it is because I am nervous that I see the bad about everything. I need to be more positive, but what if my grandfather realizes I am not London? Will he kill me? I can fight, but not a whole bloody army!

I had a dream last night. I met a wolf with a white mark on his forehead. He was big, and he told me he was waiting for me. I do not believe in dreams that come true, but it felt so real that I woke up in a cold sweat. The wolf was angry at me, and I am sure he was my second-chance mate. I felt him and told him to reject me, but he would not and told me, as my punishment, I would become his mate, and he would make my life hell on earth, as I am vein and wants to marry a Prince that I have no business marrying. Well, mate, if it was really you, be ready for me as I am not afraid of anyone. Not even the rebel prince. I know he was the rebel prince, and I think it is because everyone keeps talking about the bastard as if he is a hero. I have already been to hell and back, so what can you do to me that can make my life more hell?

The flight is long, and I am bored as f**k. I would not have agreed to go to England if I had known I would have to sit on a plane for so long. I move around and try to stretch. Jeffrey looks at me from behind his newspaper. I rub my a*s as it feels numb from sitting. Wallis and Jeffrey look at me as if I am doing something wrong. We are alone in the aircraft cabin as the servants and other staff are busy elsewhere.

“What?” I ask.

“Can’t you sit still? It is like you have ants in your pants,” Jeffrey says.

“My a*s is numb, and I need to stretch,” I say.

“You need to watch your tongue, Princess. One never knows who is listening,” Jeffrey whispers, and I know I must speak proper English again.

“I am sorry, Jeffrey. I will watch what I am saying,” I sound like London. I hate pretending to be something I am not. The English accent is challenging to master, but I am doing an excellent job as Jeff is smiling. I know I am not perfect, but the king is old, and maybe I can fool him and his wife.

“You must remember to call the king and queen your highness in public, but behind closed doors, you can call them grandfather and grandmother,” Jeffrey reminds me for the hundredth time.

“Yes, I know, Jeffrey. I will not slip up,” I say and pray to the Moon Goddess that I can fool them. As we land, a limo is waiting for us, and it is another few hours’ drive to the Kingdom of Essex. I am tired and irritated by the time we are halfway to the castle of the king and queen of Essex. It is dark, and the moon is behind the clouds. The limo comes to a halt, and Jeffrey and Wallis look nervous. The men driving with us jump out of the black SUVs and surround the limo. They are armed with guns, and I know there are silver bullets in the guns.

“Well, well, well. If it isn’t Princess London returning at last,” I hear his voice and sit up straight. I know that voice from my dreams. The rebel prince! My mate! My wolf cries out with joy as she hears her mate speak.

“Shut up, Flame! He can not hear you!” I try to silence my wolf.

“Who are you, and what do you want with Princess London,” Jeffrey asks. The rebel prince is quiet for a while. It is as if he is trying to collect himself. Did he feel our mate bond?

“I am Alpha Walker Brooks. What I want with the Princess is between her and me. Let me talk to her alone, and I will let you go unharmed,” Walker says. Oh, f**k no! I can not let him talk to me alone!

“Jeffrey, don’t let me talk to him alone. He is my mate,” I whisper in a panic. Jeffrey’s eyes are as big as mine, and he tells the limo driver to try and get us out of there.

“The path is blocked, sir. We can not go around them as there are bushes. It is dark outside, and I am afraid to hurt Princess London,” The driver says, and I panic even more. I need to get the hell out of here. I am going to book it. I am going to run like hell and hope for the best. Luckily, I am wearing a warm tracksuit and sneakers as it is comfortable to travel in, and it is warm. England is cold, cold this time of the year. My hand moves to the door.

Walker’s POV

Something is not right. My mate is here somewhere. My wolf can smell her. Who is she? One of the soldiers? I can not be distracted right now. I need to concentrate on the job at hand. I can not let the Princess marry that loser, Oliver. It will unite the two kingdoms. My men and I can not fight two armies. She is ruining my life and will not let me get my revenge on the royals that are my family. I hate all the royals, well, most of them, anyway. I only respect King George and my mother. Well, not my mother so much, but at least she will not marry someone that is not her mate for the sake of a dying Kingdom.

“Princess London, you better come to talk to me, or I will have to take drastic steps, and I do not want to,” I say. Damn, the smell of my mate is intoxicating. f**k. Someone is running and is running like the wind. It can surely not be the Princess. Shall I chase the wolf or leave her?

“Chase her!” Blaze shouts in my head.

“Why?” I ask.

“She is our mate!” Blaze shouts.

“I do not have time for a mate right now,” I say.

“Oh, for f**k sake! She is getting away!” Blaze shouts again. I start running before I realize what I am doing. I run into a brick wall, or it feels like it. One big-a*s dude is standing before me as I try to pass him. He is not letting me pass as I see the she-wolf disappearing into the dark night. I need to get to her. There are soldiers in this area, and she can be in grave danger.

“Let go of me! I need to replace her. She is in danger. As you are in the Kingdom of Mercia, there are soldiers all over this area. The soldiers will attack and rape her if she is not protected!” I shout, and I see the big wolf hesitate.

“They will not dare to touch our Princess!” The older guy says, but he also looks worried.

“Most of them don’t know what your bloody Princess looks like!” I shout.

“Find the Princess and bring her back! I am Jeffrey, and this is Wallis. We may need your help since you know this area better than we do,” Jeffrey says.

“Then get the f**k out of my way!” I shout as I start running after the stupid she-wolf. Then it hits me! The Princess is my mate!

“Why do you hate me so much, Moon Goddess?” I shout as I run to catch up with the Princess. How can she be my mate? My second-chance mate, at that! How can she be my mate? Doesn’t the princess already have a mate? I can not think too long about it. I run as fast as I can and see her running straight toward the Palace of Mercia. I need to get to her before she reaches the castle. I can not lose her to my half-brother. The good for nothing, Oliver! I smile and thank the Moon Goddess. I can do something about the royal wedding. I can accept her as my mate, and she will not be able to marry anyone but me! I don’t know why the royals do weddings anyway. Werewolves do a Luna ceremony and not weddings. It is not a werewolf thing. It is a human thing! I grab her as she is about to enter the Palace grounds. I throw her over my shoulder and carry her away.

“Let go of me!” She shouts in her British accent. I do not care what she does. I keep walking, although she is biting and scratching me.

“Shut up! Do you want the soldiers to hear us?” I ask.

“Yes! Put me down!” She demands.

“Sorry, Princess, but I am not one of your servants,” I say. She stops attacking me and goes quiet.

“Reject me so we can go our separate ways,” She says.

“No way, Princess. As your punishment, you will become my mate. I will not let you marry a Prince you have no business marrying … ” I start my speech.

“I know you want to make my life hell on earth. Blah, blah, blah. Save your breath. I heard it all before,” She says. I am stunned and walk with her to my camp.

“Did we talk before? How did you know what I was about to say?” I ask. I can see her well as my wolf vision allows me to see in the darkest nights. She is breathtakingly beautiful.

“No, I dreamed all of this,” She says.

“I, Walker Brooks, accept you, London Wellington, as my mate and future Luna of the Cloverfield Pack,” I say. She looks at me and pulls up her shoulders.

“Looks like we are not mates after all, as I do not feel anything,” London says.

“Or your name is not London! Tell me your name!” I growl.

“Nope, piss off,” She says in an American accent.

“Paris Sawyer, that is her name,” I get help from an unexpected source. Jeffrey stands behind us with a smile.

“I am going to f*****g kill you, Jeff!” Paris shouts.

“We need his help, Princess. Go ahead, accept her as your mate,” Jeffrey says as I look at the two and wonder what they are up to.

“Not before I know what is going on here and who this imposter is,” I say.

“She is Princess Paris, the oldest of the twins of the Kingdom of Essex and the real heir to the throne,” Jeffrey says. I am stunned. I need to replace out the story, so I invite them to join me for dinner. My men are taking care of the Princess’s guards, and they will join us for dinner. I know they are mostly fans of mine, so I am not worried they will attack my men or me.
