Mikhail’s POV

I do not trust my brother, but he has a big army and will help me save my children’s lives. I know he loves them as he never had children of his own. The humans around the Castle are off-limits at the moment. We can not lose more vampires, and I know the bloody wolves are in all these towns. We must get animal b***d to feed on and place it in bags in the fridge. Sometimes we will go to a big city and rob the b***d banks. I hate living like this as I prefer human b***d still warm from the source. The ghost keeps striking and killing off some of my vampires. I am starting to believe it must be my father’s ghost as he always hated me and loved my brother. He is not killing any of my brother’s vampires. I am very superstitious, but I have never believed in ghosts, but all this started when Luca broke in here and took my parents’ bodies away. I wish I could kill Luca and get my parents’ bodies back, as I need them to stop this haunting. I walk to the bar, take two glasses, and pour my brother and me some bourbon.

“I remember you always enjoying a bourbon with father. He never invited me,” I say.

“Maybe it was because you were a killer from a young age,” Dennis says.

“He gave me a bloody puppy! I did not ask for a dog,” I say.

“You could have given it to me, but you decided to kill it for fun, so I do not blame father for not liking you. Even when we grew older, you started killing people for fun. You were always the cruel one, Mikhail,” Dennis says.

“Like you are a saint! You turned off your feelings, and look at you now, Dennis. You are as cruel if not worse than me,” I say, and I laugh.

“You turned me into this monster, brother. I will never forgive you for that,” Dennis says. I do not care I only need him and his army to help me win this war. I know my Castle is like a fortress, and the werewolves are noble creatures. I will give us a fair chance to fight. They will attack at night. I do not know if they have hunters, but that is the last of my worries.

“Well, I saved your life. You were busy dying, and I could not let my brother die. Although we were never close, we were still brothers,” I say. Dennis looks at me, and I can see the hate in his eyes.

“You knew very well I wanted to die. I did not want to live without Amelia, and you made me live for eternity,” Dennis says. He is right I wanted him to suffer for eternity. He was my father’s favorite and was going to inherit my inheritance. I am the oldest and was not about to give it to my brother. He does not know that I also killed his wife. I poisoned her little by little. Back then, the doctors did not know what was wrong with her, and the medicine was not as good as today. They would have picked it up today. I will not tell him this I will tell him the day I killed him after he helped me defeat the wolves. I can not care if my children die. They all turned against me, and I would not let them live to tell their story.

“Well, think of it as you will! I will not argue with you about it,” I say. I know he will not buy any story I tell him, so I keep quiet.

“What is our plan?” Dennis asks.

“I do not know yet, but I am planning to stay here, and if the wolves want to fight me, they will have to come to me. The Castle is a fortress, and they will not get in easily,” I say.

“I hope you are right because if they can get in, we are all dead,” Dennis says.

“They are noble creatures and will fight us at night to give us a chance. It will be one of their biggest mistakes. Our vampires are strong and well-trained. We also have humans to help us. I do not trust magical creatures and know the gypsies are helping them, but we will let human soldiers fight the gypsies as they are not so easily touched by gypsy magic. We will see and start putting up our defenses tomorrow night. You can help, as I know you have fought many wars over time,” I say. Dennis looks at me as if he wants to say he does not want to help me, but he knows he has no choice but to help me fight. He will do it for my children, not me, but who cares.

“I will suggest we put vampires all over the Castle in every room. At night we will have to send most of our army outside to protect the Castle, but keep them close to the Castle so the wolves do not have a chance to get near the Castle,” Dennis says.

“I agree, but why in every room?” I ask.

“If the wolves get into the Castle, we will still have men inside that can fight them,” Dennis says.

“Well, that is true, but my men are strong and will not let them reach the Castle. I have strong soldiers, and I always keep my best soldiers near me,” I say.

“So keep the best soldiers inside. I am not going to let you die and your children with you. They deserve to live, although I feel you do not,” Dennis says. He almost sounds like my brother of old. If I did not know he had his feeling turned off, I would be worried by now.

“Why are you so worried about my children? Your emotions are turned off, yet you still care about my children,” I ask. I want to make sure his emotions are really turned off.

“I can still care for those I choose to care for. I can still feel something sometimes and remember them growing up in front of me, so I choose to protect you, to protect them,” Dennis answers, and he looks bored.

“I see. So you only care for those close to you? Like the children and Amelia,” I say.

“Keep her name out of your filthy mouth! I do not want to talk about her as it makes me feel guilty for who I am,” Dennis says. I smile as I know that Amelia is his weak point.

“I will not talk about her again. I can see it upsets you,” I say. I know now what he said is true. He only shows emotions for those he cares about.

“How about humans? Do you feel anything for them?” I ask.

“f**k them! They are destroying themselves, and I am helping them do it faster,” Dennis says. There is no emotion in his eyes, and I believe him.

“Fine, I think we should go to the map of the Castle. The generals build one, so we can see where to put out defenses,” I say. We walk to the big hall where the generals keep a 3D map of the Castle and its surroundings. There are little red and blue army men we can use.

“The wolves like to attack from higher ground. They will come from the mountains. It provides them with extra protection when they come down. There are a lot of trees and rocks where they can hide, and we can not see them from behind the rocks and trees as they are good at blending in. Even if our eyesight is good, we can not see them when they move fast and between rocks and trees. You should know how they always attack,” Dennis says. I nod. I know how the wolves think and have been attacking like that for years.

“After we win this attack, most of their army will be destroyed. We must replace their Kingdom and use the wolves to make dogmen. We will rule the world if we can convince the humans that we are the only place they can hide,” I say. I tell him about my plans to rule the world and enslave humans.

“That is a great idea. That way, we will allow the earth to recover again while humans are like our cattle, and we will breed them and always have food and enslaved people for the dirty work. We will have to have farms and cattle to feed the humans, so you will have to have slave farms,” Dennis says. I did not really think of that, but it is true. Humans will have to have food to survive and breed more.

“Well, you were always the clever one. I have not thought about food for humans, but we can do that. I am sure we can build farms where they can not escape from. The dogmen will look after them during the day. We will control the dogmen with the chips in their brains to do as we say. We will not let them kill our vampires or humans, but they will be our super soldiers that will control the humans during the day when we can not go outside,” I say. I am very proud of my plans as I daydream about a world with cities where humans can not leave but will think we are doing it for their safety. We will have safe farms where we can get food for them, and they will not realize that we are enslaving them and using them for food as we can compel them to do as we say.

Every country can have a few cities that will keep the humans, and after a few years, the humans will replace it normal. Of course, there will be flights between the cities, and we will mix the humans up every few years, so they do not inbreed. We can not let that happen, as we need perfectly normal and healthy humans. We will need to show them repeatedly on the internet and TV how many dogmen are outside to keep them happy and content inside the city. We must show them we are trying to fight the dogmen, but they are too strong for our armies. They will not know about us vampires as we will only come out at night to play and feed. We will ensure the vampires understand to compel them to forget what happens at night and that we exist—the world as I see it in a few years. We will have to start over after we have dealt with the wolves as they have destroyed all our dogmen. We will use their wolves in their Kingdom to make dogmen, and like the humans, we will have to keep them alive and feed them so we can always make new dogmen as the dogmen are werewolves with a chip in their brain, and we can control them.

“You seem deep in thought,” Dennis says.

“I was thinking of the new world, where we will rule, and we do not have to hide from werewolves and hunters and other creatures that always want to kill us,” I say.

“It will be nice. I can imagine a world without wars and humans destroying it,” Dennis says. I wonder if I should kill him. He seems without emotion for humans and other creatures. He is not like he was when he was a human. He seems heartless and cruel. He might make a great partner if he goes to another part of the world. I can not see why we can not keep him. He has moved the red men on the map, and I look at where they have put them. I agree it will be our best defense of the Castle. The wolves do not know what they are walking into. We also got a bunch of vampires ready to fight for us from other countries. We will be safe in the Castle, and after the warrior wolves and their gypsies are destroyed, nothing is standing in our way to rule the world, and my dream of the perfect world can finally become a reality.
