That encounter with King Cassius had turned out more favourable than I could have anticipated. Although we weren’t friends yet, he regarded me much better and he surprisingly seeked my opinion on a few trivial things. Thankfully, the meeting with the wolves of the Silver Moon Pack went very well and according to the gossip circulating around the castle, The Alpha of the Silver Moon Pack and King Cassius have become allies.

King Cassius made a public announcement that a party would be held to celebrate the new relationship that had been formed between both species. This is definitely the kind of news that I’d like to hear, I just wish that other packs follow the same path as Silver Moon. After I finish this mission and return back to the Kizmet Pack, I’ll try to convince Alpha Richard to form an alliance with King Cassius as well. It would be a thing of joy if we all could unite. As for the maltreatment of humans, that was sure to end with the marriage of King Cassius and Lucia, I guess that is the reason Lilith pitched me on this mission in the beginning. I guess despite being the mother of Vampires, she doesn’t appreciate their attitude towards other creatures, especially the humans. Prince Virgil on the other hand has been quite busy lately, the King seemed to have put him in charge of some work and though he comes to my room to see me every night, he hasn’t made any move on me yet and I’m grateful for that. He apparently has other b***d slaves who I don’t know of and I honestly don’t care to know about. I’m just thankful that I don’t have to deal with being feasted on.

I’m completely thrilled that since my arrival everything seems to be coming together but I still feel troubled due to the fact that I haven’t been able to see Kayden again. Well, I’ll get to see him during the party because apparently everyone is invited and it’ll be easy for him to come into the palace without being arrested.

The issue that really bothers me is the fact that even though it’s been quite a while since I’ve been here, I still have not a single idea how to bring King Cassius and Lucia together. At this point, it would be sensible to give up but I can’t because there’s too much at stake.

I want to be able to be with Kayden again as his mate, I want to be able to hug Elsie and tease my brother in law, the Alpha. I want to carry their child in my arms when he or she is born, I want to be able to lie on Ana’s lap again and most importantly, I would give anything to see my daughter again, just to hold her, to hear her cry and giggle ever so sweetly when I tickle or play with her.

These thoughts bring tears to my eyes that quickly roll down my cheeks but I’m forced to wipe them away quickly so as to avoid any suspicion in case anyone barges in.

I instantly feel very sad and gloomy but try as hard as I can, I can’t seem to do away with this heartache and this feeling of longing for my family.

All I need is a sign or even the solution to my problem, I need to replace a way to finish this mission no matter what.

I take a deep breath and stand up from my bed, deciding not to dwell on the thought too much or I’ll just feel miserable and I have to always be alert.

I decide to head to the library to read something and maybe get my mind off things. I quickly head to the library. As soon as I arrive, I didn’t pick up a book from the first shelf like I usually do, I walked over to the end of the room, as if being pulled by a magnet, there was a dusty old shelf over there and on the top of the shelf was a carving that I couldn’t understand. That was already a red flag and normally, I’d just turn back and leave but I felt myself unusually captivated by this strange collection of books.

None of them seemed to be fiction and they all seemed very old. I grabbed one book carefully but as I did, another fell out.

I dropped the one I had picked and picked up the one that had fallen on the floor instead.

I moved to sit on a chair with the book in my hand. I opened it up and began reading it and only then did I realize that it was a spell book, an ancient Vampire spell book for making certain types of potions. The writing was slightly different from usual and it was faded but I was somehow able to read it.

There were potions for different kinds of things, there were potions for sustenance during Vampire pregnancy, a wisdom potion, there was even a potion that accompanied the transition from human to Vampire. That is, after they turn someone, the person is supposed to drink that potion and some human b***d or the person would either turn to ash or go feral.

There were so many interesting things to replace out but even with the knowledge, I would be unable to make any of those potions because I had never heard of the ingredients before.

The book would mostly be considered as a waste of time since I couldn’t do anything with it but for me, it was the opposite. The things I read about were fascinating and completely intrigued me.

I got a bit tired and decided to keep the book and get some rest but when I stood up, the book left down and opened up again.

I g*****d in annoyance and picked the book up but something instantly caught my attention. I quickly flipped back to that page and when my eyes went over it again just to make sure I wasn’t hallucinating, I nearly jumped up in joy. Right there on page 56, was the recipe for a love potion.

Why am I thrilled? The answer is simple, I’ve been looking for a way to make King Cassius and Lucia fall in love with each other and each time I thought about it, it seemed impossible and now I realize why it had seemed impossible all along. I had been going about this from the wrong direction.

Of course it’s impossible to fall in love with the man that murdered your entire family and King Cassius certainly would want nothing to do with a lowly human so the only thing that could bring these two clearly opposite people together was magic.

Voithós had given me my mission, and that was to make two enemies fall in love but he had never said anything about not using magic. Besides, it’s the only reasonable solution. As soon as I get this done, I can finally return home. The thought of it has me jumping in joy. Finally, I’ve found the solution to my problem and to think it’s been right in front of me the whole time. It could only make sense, this whole thing had started with a book so it would only be fair that the solution would come from a book. It would all have to end with a book.

I take a deep breath and try to calm down so I can read the ingredients and the instructions on how to prepare the potion.

As if goddess Selene is on my side, this love potion seems to be the easiest potion in the book to make. The ingredients are things that I know about or have heard of.

I quickly tear off the page and quietly put the spell book back in its previous position on the shelf.

I fold the torn page neatly and carefully and hide it in my dress. I take a deep breath and walk out of the library, going straight to my room and not stopping.

As soon as I arrive at my room, I lock the door and bring out the paper, I then go over the ingredients one last time and try to think of a way to acquire all of them without rousing any suspicion whatsoever.

I finally have the solution with me and my happiness is indescribable, I’m sure Kayden would be thrilled to hear this news. Now that I have the answer to my question, nothing can stop me from finishing this mission and returning to my pack and family.
