Ch 17

Trinity pov

We all looked at each other and wondered where Raston could have gone. He has to be hiding somewhere, but where could that be? He wasn’t in Lucifer’s layer that I saw but then I didn’t see it all. Since he was Lucifer’s right hand guy could he take over for Lucifer and be the next person to come after me? What can we do to prepare and will we have to stay at the cave the whole time? So many questions that I can’t even wrap my head around when a hand touches my arm. I look up at Tarnac and can see the concern on his face.

“Trinity it’s ok! We will replace him and we will end him also.”

“But how though? What if he took over for Lucifer. How dangerous can he become? Can we even stop him?”

“We will figure it out but until he comes let’s get back to the cave so we can all sit down and make a plan and see if we can figure out a weakness that he might have.”

I nod my head and walk with everyone back up to the cave and when we enter my dad stops and just stares. I stop and look at him and can see he is getting emotional about coming back.

“Dad, what’s wrong?”

“Trinity the last time I was here it was to kill you. Little did I know that when I breached the doors it was you standing in the center. Just the thought of what I did has been weighing on my mind ever since. How can you even look at me knowing what I’ve done?”

“Dad you didn’t know at the time, and I can’t fault you for that. The mere fact that you came back to right your wrong shows more about your character than anything from your past. What you choose to do from here on out will show us whose side you’re on.”

He nods his head looking over at my mom who gives a small grin back. I turn to keep walking and hear him talk quietly to my mom which makes me smile in response.

“Misty you did an amazing job raising her, and she is just like you.”

“She does have your temper though. So piss her off and I won’t stand in her way.”

“Dually noted. Don’t piss off the daughter.”

We all walk in and take seats around the table. All the girls sit on the men’s laps to free up chairs for everyone else to have a seat.

“So dad, where could Raston have gone? Where could he be hiding? I didn’t see him in Lucifer’s lair. So could he still be there and I didn’t see him? Or could he have gone somewhere else?”

“The only place that I know of is down to the underworld under Lucifer’s lair. If he hides down there we will not make it there. We will be attached and stopped by the demons protecting him since Lucifer is gone. The only way to deal with him is to draw him out.”

“How will we draw him out? Will he even come out though?”

“He would if there is a big enough reason to Trinity. We just have to replace what he wants.”

“How will we replace that out though dad?”

“Someone will have to go down there and ask. I’ll go down there and see what I can replace out.”

“There has to be another way though!”

“I wish there was, Trinity. Look, I will be back as fast as I can.”

I watch him get up when I scream out for him to stop. I feel arms wrap around me as I fight to get to my dad when he turns, brushing away a tear turning to leave. I start screaming after him and within minutes I hear the front doors open and close. I slump against Tarnac as he sits back down. Every emotion I have comes to the surface and just starts bawling. My dad finally comes back and is back out again.

I hear Tarnac talking to everyone else but I block everything out. I just stare at the ground waiting for any word to come back. What if he doesn’t come back? Then what? How will we get to him? No one else will be able to get down there. Right? I look around the table as people are talking and don’t think there is anyone able to go down. So what if dad doesn’t come back?

I feel a hand on my arm and when I turn I see my mom smiling at me. I know she is trying to make me feel better, but is that even possible right now? I just smile back when she starts rubbing my arm.

“Your dad will come back. He wouldn’t have come this far to just throw it away. You have to trust him.”

“Mom, but what if he doesn’t? Then what? Who can even go down there to get him?”

“You can Trinity, but it would be only you. Lucifer chose you and his little pets saw that. So as far as they know you are still his chosen one. This is how balance can be kept between good and evil.”

“Moon Goddess but my mark from him is gone. They will know the moment they don’t see it.”

“That doesn’t matter to them. They saw him mark you. Regardless if the mark is there or not, they will still look at you as their queen. All you have to do is command them like you command up here and they will follow your orders. You can take out Raston yourself, but you must believe in yourself.”

“How would I even get down there? Like do I just imagine being down there?”

“Dunno, no one has access to even get near there.”

I just nod my head as people start talking and all we can do is just wait. Wait and hope dad comes back, but how long do we wait? Hours? Days? I don’t like waiting for info because I just want to get rid of Raston once and for all. So we can live our lives in peace and be “normal” again.

As the minutes and hours tick by I get more and more nervous that he isn’t coming back. How can Raston even overpower him. Unless he has the little pets to help him. Does he even have that kind of power? Does he even know that I got marked? Oh if he doesn’t and what the moon goddess says is true, the look on his face is going to be priceless.

I almost want a reason to go down there now just to watch him squirm and tremble when I have the little pets tear him from limb to limb. Then I will have to have someone put in place that we can trust to keep it in line. One that can keep the peace with me between the good and evil.
