Ch 21

Trinity pov

Once I can’t hear him anymore I start running around the house trying to see what is in every room and see if there is anything I can use to my advantage. It looks like someone has already gone through every room. There has to be something that was missed. I wonder if it was my dad that did it. If he didn’t replace anything then I know I’m really screwed.

I walk into the kitchen to see what there is to make to eat and on the counter is a bunch of bags with a note. I don’t know how he got them in here, but I’m sure he has his ways. When I walk over and see the note my stomach instantly turns.

Thought you could use some food. Gonna be here for a while so make yourself at home.

I roll my eyes and start looking through the bags to see what he has left. It’s nothing grand but at least it’s enough for now. I start to put them away while leaving out what I want to make for myself to eat now. Nothing fancy but a sandwich with some chips sounds good. I look around the kitchen and see a radio over in the corner so I walk over and turn it on trying to replace anything that will make some noise so it doesn’t sound so quiet.

I replace a decent station playing today’s music and go back to the task at hand. I locate silverware and a plate and start singing to the music when it hits me full force on what I did. I can feel the tears starting to fall and wipe them away as I make my sandwich. I keep trying to get through making the sandwich but it’s getting harder and harder to concentrate.

In an instant I feel a body right behind me and instantly tense up. I know exactly who it is and do not want him anywhere near me.

“You can sit down and I will finish it for you.”

I just stand there because I’m afraid to move. How do I know he isn’t going to do anything?

“I’m not going to do anything so get that thought out of your head. If I wanted to end it quickly I could have already. Just have a seat and breathe for a minute.”

I slowly walk around and have a seat at the counter and just watch him wondering how he knew what I was thinking. He keeps his eyes on me and just watches me which makes me very uncomfortable. I look down at the counter when I hear something placed in front of me. I look up at a bottle of water and start over to him.

“Calm down, I didn’t even open it. Like I said if I wanted to do something.”

“Yeah, yeah I got it. You would have done it already.”

“See, you can be taught!”

“Fuck you, Raston!”

“Fuck me? Really Trinity? Now is that any way to talk to your former mate?”

“You dont deserve the title of former mate! Let alone even mate with the way you treated me! You tried to kill me! With that kind of action, how do you think you even deserved the title of mate?

“Look, I know what I did was shitty. At the time I thought it was right. I think about my actions every fucking day. How much I fucked everything up.”

“Do you regret it now?”

I watch him look straight at me and quickly divert his eyes back to making the sandwich. Once done he sets it in front of me, and walks out of the room. No way is he getting away without answering the question. Not this time! I chase after him out of the room and the moment he hears me behind him he stops and stands there.

“Answer the damn question Raston! Do you regret trying to kill and rejecting me? I want to know!”

He instantly spins around and comes right at me getting right in front of me so our bodies are almost touching. I look up at him as he looks straight down and I can feel some feeling coming off of him. I can’t pinpoint what it is right now, but I know it’s something. I see him eye me up and down and sneers towards me. In response I put up my defenses and sneer back.

“I want an answer!”

“Of course I do! There’s not a minute out of the day that I don’t regret it! I can’t take it back! I wish I never made the decisions that I made! I wish I could take it all back! Go eat your fucking sandwich.”

With that he spun around and I saw him instantly disappear. I’m left standing there in shock because even though he finally answered, that wasn’t the answer I thought I was going to get. I had thought I would hear that he never regretted it and never looked back. Now I don’t even know what to think. Tarnac is my mate now. Nothing will change that.

Baphomet pov

The moment I get back to the forest I take some time to myself to try and figure out how I’m going to explain how this happened. I pace back and forth running through the scenario of what they will say and then what I will say. I stop with my hands on my hips and can feel the tears falling down. I stand there for a few minutes when I hear my name being said from behind me. I know exactly who it is and my heart drops.

“Baphomet, where is our daughter?”

“She traded places with me even though I told her not to!”

“You allowed it to happen? Baphomet!”

“I didn’t allow anything! I didn’t have a choice in it! She made the deal with Raston!”

She instantly starts running towards the cave and I start walking after her. If I run I will catch her in two steps so I want her to think that she has some advantage. I watch her run into the cave as I slowly enter and walk down the hall to the main room. I can hear her updating everyone and the moment I enter the room I’m jumped on by Tarnac. I don’t even fight him and let him pin me to the floor. I feel like shit enough for this. I don’t even want to fight him.

“Tarnac, get off of him this instant!”

I feel him get off and when I stand back up I see the moon goddess looking at him fuming. Ok now I’m extremely confused. We all stare at her when she tells everyone to sit down. We all look at each other and slowly sit down in the chairs when we all become very quiet.

“Do you think I don’t know what’s going on? There is a plan that needs to happen in order for everything to work, and that plan has already started. She needed to take his place in order to be able to get in. When she got there to the palace she couldn’t get in and Baphomet couldn’t get out. The only way was for her to take his spot! Now she is on the inside and will take her time to replace a way to end this. She cannot end it in the palace and he cannot end her in the palace. They both know that. They have to fight in the underground realm. Little does he know that the demons are waiting for the fight to happen. They will not let their queen be killed, and will protect her at all costs.”

As I listen to the words it starts to all make sense. There was no other way, and we cannot intervene. She has to fight this battle herself. I just hope he isn’t going to try some trick to get to her.
