Rekindling Her Affection (Sabrina and Nelson) -
Chapter 56
Eva's call left Sabrina bewildered. She stepped outside to take the call while searching for the latest news online.
A well-known entertainment reporter had leaked the news suggesting Pamela could be pregnant.
There were photos of Pamela at the obstetrics and gynecology department, one of which was taken that afternoon. The photographer had only captured Nelson's back, his beige down vest unmistakable, standing in front of Pamela.
But since the two were spotted together at the hospital, Pamela's fans assumed they were there for a prenatal check-up.
As soon as this rumor broke, the internet was abuzz with discussion. Pamela's fans even began tagging Nelson, urging him to plan the wedding of the century.
Sabrina watched as the online frenzy escalated, yet neither party had released a statement.
...
At that moment, Nelson was at Club Felicity. He sat on the couch with his arms crossed. His eyes were fixed on his phone on the coffee table.
Following the news of Pamela's alleged pregnancy, many people called to congratulate him. After all, no one in Nelson's social circle knew about his secret marriage. Everyone assumed Pamela was his legitimate girlfriend.
And since she was supposedly pregnant, they naturally inquired about the wedding date.
Justin found the situation hilarious. He could not help but think Nelson deserved it. Nelson only had himself to blame for being so high-profile with Pamela and constantly making headlines.
The most gratifying part was that in the two and a half hours since news of the pregnancy hit, his wife, Sabrina, hadn't called.
Looking at Nelson's darkened expression, Justin couldn't help but gloat, "Ronny..."
"Yeah?"
"Sabrina spent three years waiting for his call. But over time, her longing turned to indifference, right?"
Ronaldo merely hummed in response.
Nelson watched them go back and forth with an icy gaze.
"Are you two done?"
"Nelson, how are you planning to handle this with Sabrina?" asked Ronaldo.
Ever since Nelson believed that Sabrina had drugged him, his parents had stopped inquiring about their affairs.
In the past, whenever he and Pamela made the news, Shannon would call him and advise him to consider Sabrina's feelings.
Right then, Nelson felt a swirl of indescribable feelings. He used to be so annoyed by Sabrina's persistent calls and meddling. But now that she had stopped caring, he felt unaccustomed to it and somewhat sad.
Nelson got up, grabbed his phone, and walked away.
When he reached the door, a thought occurred to him.
He asked, "Why does Gerald call her Billion? Is that her nickname?"
Ronaldo and Justin took a moment to react.
"He calls her Sabillion, doesn't he?"
Sabrina returned to the office for a meeting with the marketing department to address the issue of Pamela's endorsement.
For years, everyone had known that Pamela was dating Nelson. The romance of an innocent celebrity and a wealthy scion was a timeless formula for capturing public interest. It was a sure way to generate buzz.
Sabrina understood why the previous CEO had chosen Pamela. Her image perfectly aligned with the product's branding, especially with Nelson's influential support.
However, being pregnant out of wedlock would not reflect well on the company's endorsement.
Sabrina ultimately decided to replace her. Yet, her proposal stirred debate.
Moreover, she did not have a better candidate to replace Pamela. Hence, the decision was pushed back.
After the meeting, Sabrina headed to the airport to pick Abigail up.
The latter had a tight schedule. She had gone to Malma in the afternoon and had returned by the evening.
Sabrina was eager to know the outcome when she met with Abigail.
"Was it as I suspected?"
Abigail nodded while gulping down water.
"Yes. What should we do now?"
"Let's head home first. You love the pan dulce Michelle makes, so let's go back and have some."
While Sabrina remained calm, Abigail was on edge.
"What they're doing is too underhanded! Why don't we report this to the police?"
