Remembering You
One More

We live in a world where we care more about how many likes we get on a photo. And if there is not a certain amount we delete, just to change the caption. We live in a world where we care more about how many followers we have. We must have over one thousand, just to feel wanted. We live in a world where if we get left on read, we will question as to why. Followed by poorly thought out decisions on posting unwanted pictures of ourselves or flirting around with anyone just to get the attention we so desperately are craving.

We live in a world based solely on appearance. We never mind those traditions set forth about how someone should be treated, because that will make us look as if we are weak when it comes to human decency. We only care about what it takes to get people to notice us. We tend to be stuck in a loop of unforgivable tendencies.

One more like. Only one more follower. One more person who replaces me interesting. Just one more, that is all it will take. To feel wanted by someone. Just one more like and I will have the confidence in myself. But that is never enough, we do not mean that at all. If it was just one more, we would be content in life. If it was just one more, we would not crave the attention from everyone else online or in person. We would not praise the things we do so publicly, but we do. Because just one more is not enough to satisfy who we are in this world.

One more like. We go through torment if we do not get that like. If we do not get that notice, we so urgently need. Maybe we are not pretty enough. Funny enough. Casually posing enough. Maybe we are not thin enough. Or have enough ass to show. Maybe we are not enough. So, we slowly try to change our appearances to get one more like.

Only one more follower. And maybe I will be noticed enough to become famous. One more person who will talk to me. But never does. It is that feeling of not being worth it. So, if I get one more follower, I will be happier. It means more people like how I look or what I post. I just need one more follower to get noticed.

But the one person who leaves me on read… Now that causes me to think I did something wrong. What did I say? Did I not flirt enough? What about that picture I sent to you, to which I never send out? Was it not good enough to keep your attention? Why did you leave me on read?

You were the one more I truly wanted to notice me. The one more like, one more person to notice me. You were the one more. But the idea, I needed one more was a tendency I broke. They say it takes twenty days to break a habit. And in this moment, those likes, followers, being left on read do nothing to bother me anymore.

We live in a world where the appearance of things matters. We judge anything and replace everything out. We get upset over silly worthless posts. But in the end the only thing we truly need, contrary to popular belief, are our flaws. They are the first thing noticed and they make us, us in this world. One more like or follow will not change you as a person or how you feel on the inside. One more like or follow, will just slowly eat at you, because you will never be satisfied.
