Sebastian grabbed Hugo by the back of the neck and lifted him off the ground.

He initially didn't plan to kill Hugo since he wanted to avoid causing a rift between the Lorence and Strauss families.

But Hugo's constant provoking, calling him a lackey and threatening to behead him, pushed Sebastian past his limit.

"Stop! Let go of my son now!" Amos shouted.

Cleef also stood up and advised, "Seamus, why don't you spare his life?"

Although he was tempted to let Sebastian finish Hugo off, he didn't want to risk sparking a bloody conflict between the two families.

Sebastian's grip didn't loosen. Instead, he tightened it.

"Proof? Show it," Sebastian ordered.

Hugo quickly instructed someone to bring a recorder and then played the recording.

"Clara, what do you want from me?"

"I need you to help me kill someone."

"Oh my God, I can't believe Ms. Clara would conspire with outsiders to murder her own husband. She's so vicious!"

"You're despicable, Hugo!" She was outraged. She never expected him to be so devious as to record their conversation secretly.

"No matter how despicable I am, I'm nothing compared to you. First, you flirted with Theo. Then, you asked me to kill your husband. You've got the heart of a viper," Hugo shot back.

Before Clara could say another word, Cleef raised his hand and slapped her resoundingly on the face.

"Shut up! Haven't you embarrassed me enough? How could I have fathered such a disgrace? "he roared. His anger was so intense that he wished he could slap her out of existence.
