Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 138

When they got closer to Sky High Venue, Adam and Black Dragon were stunned.

The entrance to the venue was crowded, and the whole place was extremely noisy. Burly men fought to get inside, afraid that if they were a little late, someone might snatch the prize from under their nose. The losers were refused entry. If they were lucky, they only had a few bruises. As for those with bad luck, they ended up with fractured bones.

Even so, the challengers did not stop coming. Ten martial artists stood in front of the entrance with their hands behind their backs, looking at the crowd with serious expressions.

Despite Sky High Venue being in a rather remote area, the competition attracted a lot of people. There were traffic jams, and the streets were packed.

Adam's face fell. It seems I've underestimated Priscilla's charm.

"Where is Priscilla?" he asked.

Black Dragon replied, somewhat embarrassed, "Inside the building."

Adam alighted from the car and headed toward the venue. As he approached, one of the challengers stopped him. "Are you new here? Don't you know the rules?"

Black Dragon hurried to catch up to them. "Get out of the way!"

The challenger frowned and said unhappily, "You two sure are arrogant. Do you think you're the only one who knows how to fight here? There is a time and place to act tough. No matter who you are, you'll have to follow the rules if you want to participate in the competition."

Adam asked with a frown, "What rules?"

The challenger sneered. "Take a look around. You have to fight and open up your path to the entrance. Then, once you've managed to defeat one of the Flower Envoys, you'll be allowed entry."

Flower Envoys? What kind of name is that?

Adam was at a loss for words.

It's only been a few days, and we already have gatekeepers?

However, Adam had understood the meaning behind the man's words.

"In other words, the one with the strongest fists gets to advance, right?"

The challenger raised his chin and said proudly, "Exactly. This blockage is just to test our strength. Or else, if everyone was allowed to fight our goddess, she would die of exhaustion.

"However, I need to remind you of something. If you don't know how to fight, you should get out of here. Some amateurs tried to sneak in, but their lack of skills was soon exposed. Due to their foolishness, they ended up with some fractures and are now waiting for the ambulance."

Adam turned to look at the challengers lying on the ground in pain. Their faces were all swollen, a horrible sight to behold.

He shook his head and said, "What if I told you that it was Priscilla Rain who invited me here?"

The challenger's expression changed. He sized up Adam and said disdainfully, "Is that so?" Then, he raised the megaphone in his hand and shouted, "Everyone, stop, stop, stop!"

After he shouted a few times, the fighters finally quieted down and turned to look in their direction.

The challenger pointed at Adam and said, "This guy says that the goddess herself invited him over. Do you believe him or not?"

The fighters shouted in unison, "No!"

"What do we do then?"

"Let's fuck him up!"

The challengers formed a squad and glared balefully at Adam.

Adam was dumbfounded, but he had more or less guessed what they were thinking. They're afraid that I'm really acquainted with Priscilla, so they want to take me out first to thin out the competition... Therefore, he hurried to explain, "You're misunderstanding. I'm already married."

"You're married and you still dared to come here? Are you trying to insult our goddess?"

"Let's fuck him up!"

The challengers flew into a rage.

That isn't what I meant!

Adam did not want to hurt anyone, but since words had turned out to be ineffective, he could only resort to violence.

"Black Dragon, take care of them," said Adam.

Black Dragon rubbed his hands in excitement, he had been waiting just for these words.

Several men surrounded him, but none of them managed to stop him. Black Dragon needed but a single attack to take them out. At this moment, he was like a wolf among a flock of sheep. Most of the challengers were amateurs with no real skills, and they were not even qualified to be called "martial artists". That was why they could not take a single punch from Black Dragon. Black Dragon zig-zagged his way through the challengers, leaving defeated men in his wake.

Adam calmly headed toward the entrance.

The ten Flower Envoys stepped forward at the same time, their expressions solemn. "You have some skills, but your road ends he-"

Black Dragon grabbed the Flower Envoy in the front and smashed him against the ground.

The other Flower Envoys were terrified by Black Dragon's strength. They could only let them pass when their companion was defeated so easily.

Adam shook his head and entered the building, leaving behind the lively crowd.

After getting into the building, Adam frowned.

Priscilla Rain was not the only familiar person in the hall. Fannie Andrews, Owen Robinson, and that girl from the Medicis he met on Phoenix Mountain were also there.

Why are they here? Are they all looking for the survivor from the Drake family?

Adam walked up to the head of the table and sat down. "So, why are you here?"

Fannie pouted, not surprised that Adam had come to the venue. "Hmph, I can go wherever I like!"

Owen looked at Adam in shock. "I could ask you the same thing. Did you somehow sneak into the building? If that's the case, you must be a martial artist... Perhaps Lady Fannie didn't lie to me, and you were really the person who saved me." The girl from the Medicis hesitated a while before saying, "I'm looking for someone."

Adam turned to look at Priscilla, who stood there with a deadpan face. He could not understand how she could steal so many hearts with her awful personality. Perhaps those guys were fellows who only cared about a girl's face.

"I'm here because this competition of yours has caused some trouble. From now on, you can either follow my instructions or the competition will be canceled."

Priscilla looked at Adam coldly. "Not a chance."

Adam frowned and said, "I'm not here to negotiate. If you don't follow my instructions, I'll kick all of you out of Lisle."

Priscilla's expression changed a little. She narrowed her eyes and said coldly, "Is that so?"

In the next moment, her whole person changed. She became as sharp as a sword, and the temperature in the room seemed to drop a little.

Adam locked gazes with her, showing no fear. It felt as if a storm was brewing in his eyes.

"I'm the commander of the Black Snake Brigade, and I can decide the life and death of the underworld if I wish to. I have the final say in this matter." Priscilla unsheathed her sword, pointing it at Adam. "Fight me!"

A fight could break out at any moment.

Fannie's eyes lit up. They're about to fight! Will Adam be forced to use the Dragon-Snake Switch?

Owen also adjusted his posture. Is he really the man who saved me?

The girl from the Medicis looked at Adam eagerly. Is it really him?

The three of them had their own motives, so no one tried to stop the fight.

Priscilla said mockingly, "What, are you afraid?"
