Return of the Prodigy Chapter 166

Adam was in a telephonic conversation with Black Dragon.

"Drake the Dragon, I have given Enrico one extra day. I think he'll try to send Mario overseas, but I have already made arrangements. The villa is surrounded by our men, not a single fly will be able to enter the compound." Adam went quiet for a couple of seconds before he said, "Doesn't matter. He has already lost, so it doesn't matter if he tries to run. Why don't we use them as bait? This way, we can draw out Enrico's associates."

Black Dragon's eyes lit up. "I will send word to Black Snake Brigade so that they can prepare themselves."

After hanging up the phone, Adam shook his head. He certainly hoped Enrico would not do it. Otherwise, there was no reason to let him live!

Enrico stayed at the villa until late at night.

At 1.00 a.m., Enrico stood up from his chair and took a moment before saying gravely, "Enough, time for you to go. I'm sure Black Snake Brigade has the villa surrounded and will check my vehicle when I leave. After I'm gone, you'll leave through the secret passage. Remember, you are not to divulge Adam's true identity to anyone. I still want the Camdens and Hamiltons to do my dirty work. If any of you ruin my plans..."

Enrico paused mid-sentence without finishing the verbal threats.

After all, Mario was his flesh and blood. He naturally cared about his son.

Enrico sighed powerlessly. "Be good and take care of yourself."

Mario wept as he said, "Dad, you have to send for me as soon as possible."

"You're a grown man. How could you cry? Just consider it a vacation," sneered Enrico as he turned to look at Logan.

Logan nodded and said, "Don't worry."

Enrico patted Logan on the shoulder and walked out.

After getting into the car, he left the villa. Just as he expected, the people from Black Snake Brigade stopped him and inspected his vehicle.

Enrico wasted no time and promptly let them check the car. Ten minutes later he left. As the car picked pace, he could not help turning to glance back reluctantly.

Meanwhile, inside the villa.

Logan went over to Mario with some rope in hand and said, "It's time for us to leave. Since you are still recovering, I'll carry you on my back. It might hurt a little, so please bear with it." He then squatted down. Mario wiped the tears from his face and lay prone on Logan's back.

Logan quickly placed Mario on his back and ran for a couple of steps to see if it would work.

"Let's go!" Logan said and entered the secret passages in the villa under the cover of the night.

The secret passage was wide, and there was dim light hanging overhead. Logan and Mario proceeded unhurriedly before they were finally out of the villa roughly ten minutes later.

A car was already parked by the roadside waiting for them. Logan carried Mario out of the secret passage and two men promptly came over to help. After getting into the car, the car drove off quickly.

In the darkness, a drone quietly hovered overhead filming everything before giving chase.

A brown MPV appeared a minute later heading in the same direction as the drone.

Meanwhile, inside the car.

Mario could not help asking, "How are we leaving the country? By land, air, or sea?"

"Don't worry. I have already made arrangements, but it won't be easy. When we get there, these guys will leave town with you and take care of you from now on. The driver is called Brady and the guy in the front passenger seat is Roy," Logan explained. Brady and Roy turned to greet Mario in unison.

Mario nodded in acknowledgment; he was in no mood to talk.

Brady and Roy caught his drift and did not go on chatting. The atmosphere in the car felt stifling.

After driving swiftly for 30 minutes and leaving town, they pulled up and changed into a silver van before continuing.

Two more hours passed before the silver van drove into an inconspicuous area. They got off, swapped vehicles again, and drove off in a black car.

The car sped throughout the night. Just when it felt as though there was no end to this, the sun gradually rose.

The four of them had already left Alameda County, heading straight to a small coastal village before hiding out at a pharmaceutical factory.

After entering the factory, the four of them finally stopped.

Meanwhile, inside a brown MPV roughly one click from the pharmaceutical factory.

Black Dragon was looking at the drone footage intently.

"I have to say they are very good at running. They were very careful the entire time. If not for the drones, we might have lost them," said someone from Black Snake Brigade.

Black Dragon also felt annoyed. They had been chasing after them the entire time. The chase went on for so long that they ran out of gas. Fortunately, they were able to follow them using drones. After topping up the gas, they had no trouble catching up with them. "Keep an eye on them. I'm calling Drake the Dragon."

The Black Snake Brigade soldier nodded.

Black Dragon retrieved his phone and called Adam, "Drake the Dragon, things got a little complicated. Enrico was very smart. He told his men to send Mario to some other territory in the coastal area."

Adam was also caught by surprise.

There were strict rules in the underworld. No one was allowed to encroach on each other's territory. Otherwise, a battle will ensue.

How could Enrico send his son to someone else's territory near the coast?

What does this mean?

Is Enrico in contact with people from the coast? Has he been doing it secretly? Is there some reason he is doing this?

Adam contemplated for a couple of seconds before saying, "Gather the men from Black Snake Brigade and investigate the factory after sundown."

"Do we need to give the local Black Snake Brigade a heads up?" Black Dragon asked.

Black Snake Brigade had operations throughout the country with someone in charge of every county.

"Yes, do it," Adam said.

After hanging up the phone, Black Dragon immediately went about making arrangements for the operation.

In the blink of an eye, it was nightfall.

Meanwhile, inside the pharmaceutical factory.

Logan walked into the room and woke up Mario. "Did you rest well? Why don't you wake up and have a bite? We will be leaving soon."

Mario was still groggy and had clearly not rested well. He said huffily, "Do we still have to run? We have already left town. I doubt Adam can replace us now, right?"

"Adam has eyes throughout the nation. I think we should do as your father planned just to be safe," Logan explained.

Mario sighed powerlessly and got up. Then, Logan carried him into the living room. There was some takeout on the coffee table.

Mario was stunned at the sight. "Do you expect me to eat this?"

Logan smiled grimly and said, "We are on the run."

Mario parted his lips but was incapable of uttering a word.

Ever since he was born, he had lived lavishly and never suffered in the slightest. Had he known the consequences of offending Adam, he would rather die than go to Lisle. Mario was filled with regret.

After dinner, Brady checked their surroundings before he came in and nodded saying, "All clear. We are ready to leave."

Logan carried Mario on his back and left the compound before getting into a pharmaceutical factory van.

Roy was about to drive off when the roar of car engines suddenly sounded from outside.

The entrance to the pharmaceutical factory was surrounded by cars, their high beams trained at the factory gate.

"Get off! Your vehicle needs to be inspected!"

Black Snake Brigade soldiers got off the vehicles and charged into the pharmaceutical factory.
