Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 180

The next day.

At eight in the morning, the hearse with Ray Hernandez's remains headed to his hometown.

After a two-hour drive, Adam and the rest arrived at the village.

Adam asked Sandra if she wanted to invite the other people in the village so that they could mourn Ray together, but Sandra shook her head and explained, "No one will come. After that incident, none of the neighbors ever talked to us." Adam fell silent, unsure how to continue the conversation.

In the end, they opted to head to the cemetery directly. The soldiers of the Black Snake Brigade lifted the coffin and took it down the hearse.

There were no spectators, and the cemetery was deathly silent.

Sandra kneeled before the coffin and cried silently, her shoulders twitching from time to time.

After a short moment, Adam walked up to her and whispered, "It's almost time. We should let your grandfather set out on his journey."

Sandra wiped her tears away and nodded.

Adam gestured with his hand, and the soldiers lowered the coffin into the grave.

With a sigh, Adam grabbed a shovel and dug the soil before throwing it on the coffin. "Ray, I hope your journey will be a good one. I promise you that I'll protect Sandra and your other relatives."

The sound of the soil hitting the lid of the coffin broke the silence in the cemetery.

The soldiers of the Black Snake Brigade all grabbed their shovels and helped Adam fill the grave. Slowly, the coffin was covered in soil and disappeared from their sight. Ray's journey to the other world had begun.

The sad thing was that aside from Sandra, Adam, and the soldiers of the Black Snake Brigade, no one else came to bid farewell to the old man. It felt as if the world did not even know that he had ever existed. He was gone from their lives, just like that. Finally, Sandra could no longer hold her voice down and sobbed loudly, "Grandpa..."

Adam closed his eyes, and tears streamed down his face.

"Did any of the Moodys come?" he asked.

Black Dragon shook his head.

A murderous look flashed in Adam's eyes. "I see. Make them disappear."

Black Dragon was about to give orders when one of the soldiers said through the radio, "Captain, someone's coming over. There are eight cars in total, and they're approaching at high speed. We haven't determined if they're the Moodys, but they should be headed in your direction."

Black Dragon frowned and said, "Sir, someone's coming over."

Before long, a motorcade of eight Jeeps came over. As they approached the cemetery, they did not slow down but accelerated instead. They broke through the gate and knocked down several gravestones while heading toward Adam and the rest. Adam's expression became cold.

Black Dragon was also enraged. He howled, "What are you doing? Go stop them!"

These motherfuckers are desecrating the graves of the dead. They sure are trying their best to piss Drake the Dragon off! Black Dragon could already imagine what would happen to these people. They were doomed to die a horrible death.

The Jeeps braked and finally came to a stop. They kicked up so much dust that the soldiers of the Black Snake Brigade started coughing.

The door of a Jeep opened, and a young man in his twenties jumped down. The young man was thin and had a crafty look in his eyes. He donned a cowboy suit and leather boots, looking very fashionable.

He glanced at the people in the cemetery and asked loudly, "Which one of you is the survivor of the Drake family?"

Then, his gaze fell on Adam. He stared at him for a few seconds and said excitedly, "It's you! David Drake, it's really you! Hahaha..."

The young man laughed like a madman, his joy hard to conceal. He walked up to Adam and sized him up.

Several burly men in training attire alighted from the Jeeps, and behind them were also the Moodys.

The young man looked at Adam for a good while and said, "You changed a lot in these six years. You look taller, and your skin is a shade darker now."

Adam frowned. "Do we know each other?"

The young man was dumbfounded. Then, he curled up his lips and sneered, "I guess important people tend to be forgetful. I can't believe you've forgotten me.

"However, I don't replace it that strange. The Drakes were mighty back then, so it's normal that you don't remember the face of a kid from a small family.

"When we were young, I always tried to gain your favor. I hoped that I would catch your eye and become your friend. However, you ignored me and even told me to stay away from you.

"Hehe... I'm sure that not even in your wildest dreams would you have imagined that the tables would turn like this. The mighty drake that used to hold its head high can now only crawl on the ground like an insect. I, on the other hand, have risen to new heights since then!" The young man vented out all the grievances in his heart. From the looks of it, he had been waiting for this moment for a long time.

Without waiting for Adam to reply, he continued, "With the connections of the Drakes, I thought you would be able to live a stable life, but looking at you now, I'm not so sure. Tsk, those plain clothes are a far cry from what you used to wear back then. "What happened? Did you discover that you aren't worth much without the money of the Drakes?

"David, you turned out to be such a disappointment. I wouldn't even feel any joy in destroying you now. I could crush you with a finger if I wanted to.

"Oh, yeah. You probably don't even remember my name. Since you're about to die, I might as well tell you. I'm Kevin Bank, the heir to the Banks." The Banks?

Adam had an epiphany. He narrowed his eyes and looked at Kevin. "Are you done? I could crush you like an insect in the past, and it's no different today."

Kevin was dumbfounded. He stared at Adam in disbelief. After a short moment, he said, "What did you say? I think I might have misheard. Can you repeat it?"

Before Adam could reply, he burst out laughing. "Do you still think that you're the pampered son of the Drakes? You're nothing now! Do you know how high the Banks stand nowadays?"

Some of the Moodys interjected, "Someone like you isn't even worth Mr. Bank's time!"

"The Banks are a powerful family in Lancashire, true experts when it comes to mixed martial arts. They manage numerous training centers in Carson County, and the martial arts masters working for them could destroy you effortlessly!"

"If you have a brain, you should kneel before Mr. Bank and ask for forgiveness. Perhaps he'll have a change of heart and train you as a dog instead of killing you."

Adam narrowed his eyes and asked coldly, "Was it you who killed Ray Hernandez's family and imprisoned him along with his granddaughter?"

Kevin sneered and said disdainfully, "Even if it was me, what are you going to do? Do you want to avenge them? You can't even protect yourself, and you even want to avenge those guys?"

The people behind Kevin burst out laughing.
