Return Of The Prodigy
Return of the Prodigy Chapter 51

The phone rang three times and was quickly answered.

"Hello, it's Daniel Smith speeking," a warm voice that instantly made people feel at ease came through the phone.

Gemma immediately put on a smiling face and said in a lowered voice, "Daniel, I'm Katie's mom."

"Hello, Aunt Gemma. Is there something you need?"

"Well, you see, your uncle was arrested for watching people play cards, and they want to detain him. Can you help us out?"

Daniel chuckled, "This is simple, Auntie. Just wait a moment; I'll make a call, and you don't even need to pay a fine."

Less than five minutes after hanging up, Trey was released.

At this moment, Adam, holding the receipt for the fine, returned. "Mom, I've already paid the money. Dad should be fine now, right?"

"Paying, paying. All you know is to pay. Does it even work to pay? Look at Daniel; a single phone call resolved everything, and no need to pay."

"Three thousand bucks is not money? You have the skill to make money every day but are really good at spending it."

Daniel Smith?

Katie's former fiancé?

Adam was slightly stunned; he didn't expect that after so many years, Gemma still had the other party's number.

However, the reason Trey was released was clearly that Adam had called Jake Allen.

"Mom, actually, I called mayor Mr. Allen, not because of Daniel. Don't be deceived."

Unexpectedly, Gemma became furious upon hearing this, "Don't call me mom; I don't have a son-in-law as useless as you."

"If you had the ability, Katie would have married Daniel long ago. Who dares to arrest your dad?"

"Mom, but I'm telling the truth."

"Shut up!"

Adam sighed helplessly; Gemma didn't believe him at all. Even if he explained, it was useless. In any case, as long as Trey was fine.

"Dad, Mom, let me send you back home."

"No need for you to send; I get angry seeing you." Gemma said disdainfully.

Adam wasn't angry either, leading the two elderly towards the parking lot. Just as they reached the entrance, they coincidentally met Jake Allen, who was about to enter. "Hello, Mr. Drake. Is everything resolved? Is the old man okay?"

Adam nodded, "It's resolved, thank you."

Gemma, hearing this, immediately frowned, "Why are you thanking him? He didn't save your dad. Also, who are you? What kind of pretending is this?"

Jake Allen was slightly stunned and smiled, "My surname is Allen, a friend of Mr. Drake."

Gemma rolled her eyes disdainfully, "Don't know you, but if you can be friends with this lunatic, you probably aren't some big shot. Move aside, don't block the way." Uh...

Jake was at a loss for words.

In the meantime, one of the police station's staff jogged over, saying respectfully, "Mayor, there was no need for you to come here personally. I've already taken care of the matter." Gemma was shocked. "What? You're the mayor?"

Jake Allen nodded awkwardly.

Gemma still couldn't believe it, "Are you sure you're real? Not pretending? How could a director know this waste?"

Jake Allen frowned. Being insulted didn't matter, but insulting Drake the Dragon was unforgivable.

"Please watch your words, Mr. Drake is a pillar of the country!"

"Him? A pillar of the country? Are you sure he's not useless?"

Gemma became even more incredulous, beginning to doubt. Could it be that what Adam said earlier was true? Did he really call Jake Allen, not related to Daniel? Meanwhile, Gemma's phone rang.

It was Daniel.

Her eyes lit up, as she could simply ask the man about this matter. She refused to believe that someone like Adam could possess so much influence...
