Chapter 110

As the night slowly descended, only the faintest traces of twilight lingered in the sky.

At that moment, the sky's color was at its most delicate, and Morris and Cherise remained tightly embraced in the Glenshire Gardens parking lot, basking in the tenderness of the night.

In Morris' embrace, Cherise showed an indescribable emotion in her eyes, and her hands were slightly clenched.

Her mind was racing with thoughts.

she couldn't figure out why her mom had married such a selfish man back then.

If Cherise hadn't repeatedly confirmed their father-daughter connection, she would have doubted Jacob was her biological

father.

Cherise never thought of herself as a kind person.

If it hadn't been fo

If it hadn't been for the nily connection, Cherise would have expelled Jacob from her world.

Morris sensed something unusual about Cherise.

His voice was soft and low, "Cherise, let me take you somewhere, okay?

Cherise left Morris's embrace.

She looked up at him, meeting his affectionate eyes.

The bad mood brought on by Jacob seemed to disappear instantly.

Cherise asked. "Where are we going?"

Her voice was soft and tender, totally different from her earlier assertiveness.

Morris gazed at Cherise, who stood before him sweet and delicate, with his frustration at Jacob's failure to value her increasing

But in front of Cherise, Morris only wanted to show her his most gentle and reassuring side..

He chuckled and said, "It's a great place. You'll know when we get there

Cherise nodded slightly and agreed, "Okay."

At this time, the Chambers family was at a private hospital in Hamolica.

Jemma asked the doctor anxiously, "Doctor, could you please examine my son again? What's wrong with him? He hasn't been able to speak since he arrived home this afternoon." After visiting all the major hospitals in Betrico, every doctor who had checked on Jeffrey said they couldn't help.

With no other choices, Henry took Jeffrey to their family's private hospital in Hamolica.

The doctor shook his head at Jemma and glanced at Jeffrey lying on the examination table.

Jeffrey's mouth hung open, speechless, emitting only a series of "oh" sounds.

Chapter 110

He couldn't close his mouth, and drool was consistently dripping from the corners.

His hands were trembling continuously as well.

Jeffrey couldn't explain what had happened, either by speaking or writing.

Jemma used tissues to wipe the drool from Jeffrey's mouth while quietly sobbing..

Henry and David Harris from the Neurology Department entered the room, both looking serious.

Jemma quickly went forward and asked, "Dr. Harris, Henry, is the report out? What's the result?" David let out a sigh.

Then he explained, "The tests on Mr. Chambers show it's neither facial paralysis nor nerve damage. The situation might be a hit complex

"We just used electric shocks, but there was no response.

"We kindly ask you to replace expert help elsewhere. There's nothing more we can do at our hospital"

When she heard this, Jemma couldn't hold back anymore and burst into tears.

Jemma cried, "Henry, what are we going to do! Jeffrey is our only son, and he's supposed to get engaged in a few days. How could this happen all of a sudden?"

Henry was also at a loss, feeling frustrated.

Lately, all industry professionals had been attempting to reach Duskson without success. To make matters worse, Jeffrey fell ill just before his engagement. It seemed like nothing was going Henry's way. Henry sighed deeply.

Looking at Jeffrey drooling and making stupid sounds on the examination table, Henry kept massaging his temples.

Jacob had just gotten home when he saw Shirley rushing out in a hurry.

"What's going on? Why are you so flustered? Jacob asked irritably, supporting his injured back.

Shirley said anxiously, "Dad, I can't explain it in detail now. Jeffrey is hospitalized. I need to go see him."

After that, Shirley ran off before Jacob could react.

At this time, Mandy came out of her room and saw Jacob covered in bruises and unable to stand up straight. She quickly asked, "Oh my gosh, honey, what happened to you? Weren't you going to replace Cherise? How did you end up like this?" Jacob shook his hand dismissively and said, "Don't mention it. Just help me now. I'm in so much pain."

Mandy hurried over to help Jacob, looking worried, and saying. Someone! Get a doctor here."

After a while, Jacob got his wounds treated and lay down in bed.

Only then did he ask Mandy. "Where did Shirley rush off to in such a hurry?"

Mandy sighed and answered, "Jeffrey's in trouble. He can't even speak now. The engagement party is just days away. I plan to visit him tomorrow. Jacob's face turned gloomy af the news, and he said, "Well, this is going to be a hassle. Hopefully, he should be fine."

Mandy nodded and looked-a Jacob before asking. "By the way, honey, what happened to you? How did you get hurt? What did Cherise say?" Jacob looked awkward, not wanting Mandy, though she was his wife, to know that Morris had kicked him out of Glenshire Gardens

He calmly said. "I was walking too fast and tripped.

"As for Cherise's issue, well, it seems like there's nothing we can do about it. Why hasn't there been any good news these past two days?"

Mandy said with a self-satisfied expression, "My brother called and said he'd cover the 300 million dollars lost in the HomeBase Estates deal last time. He also mentioned the Duskson matter; it sounds like there's been some progress." Upon hearing this, Jacob forgot about his pain and looked at Mardy with complete satisfaction.
