Not even ten minutes later, Morris finished his work.

He glanced at Cherise, who was reading a magazine on the couch, walked over, and sat down. "Cherise, we can go home now."

Cherise looked up and caught sight of the unopened lunch box at the corner of the desk. "Mr. Chivers, you haven't eaten yet? That's not good for your stomach. How about I join you for a little bite?" Morris followed Cherise's gaze. He chuckled, turned around, and ruffled Cherise's hair. "It feels great to have a girlfriend who cares about me."

An hour later, Morris and Cherise walked out of a burger joint in an alley near Glenshire Gardens.

Cherise puffed her cheeks in slight annoyance at Morris. "I said I was full, but you kept making me eat. Look at my little belly. It's not attractive anymore."

Morris was amused by Cherise and gently pinched her cheek. "I like it better when you're a bit chubby. No matter how much weight you put on, I'll still like you."

Cherise stopped and spoke seriously to Morris, "Xenia said that I can't always trust what a man says. If one day I really do get bigger, you might not think the same anymore.

"No way. I want to look beautiful, at least to make myself happy when I look in the mirror."

With that, she casually strolled ahead of Morris.

Morris stood behind, shaking his head in disbelief. "Xenia is always talking nonsense."

Morris took a few steps forward and caught up with Cherise, glancing at her pointy high heels. "Cherise, hop on. I'll carry you."

"Huh?" Cherise looked at him in confusion.

Morris pointed ahead. "There's a rough patch coming up. Those heels won't be easy to walk in. Come on. Get on my back."

With that, he walked over to Cherise and crouched down in front of her.

Cherise looked at his broad and sturdy back in front of her with a smile. Without hesitation, she reached out to place her hands on his shoulders.

On a silent, empty city street at 10:30 pm, the autumn breeze was rustling, sending leaves fluttering to the ground.

Under the streetlight, the shadow of Morris carrying Cherise stretched long and far.

The two were pressed close together, and Morris looked at ease, clearly enjoying the moment.

At that moment, they left their titles behind. They weren't the CEO of a giant company, a secret hacker, the head of a covert group, or a highly skilled doctor... They were just an ordinary couple in love.

Cherise rested her head gently on Morris's shoulder and softly said, "When Betrico University has a break, I'd like to go back to Yasvissa."

"Okay, I'll go with you." Without asking further, Morris decided to follow her if she wanted to go.

At the base of Azure Peak, there lay the Dream Residence.

It was already 11 PM, and by this time, Rayburn was usually sound asleep.

Jason hadn't come back tonight, leaving him alone in the living room, drinking coffee.

People said reaching seventy was rare, and old age naturally showed.

In front of him was Rayburn who, despite being nearly eighty, was still remarkably energetic and composed.

It was clear that in his youth, he must have been incredibly charming and handsome.

Shortly after, the man in black from Gourmet Bistro entered.

Approaching Rayburn with respect, he said, "Mr. Muller, we've found some information on Ms. Leach. However, it seems like some information was deliberately hidden. All we could replace were these two documents." "Also, our people in Yasvissa found a photo of Ms. Leach with her grandmother."

Rayburn abruptly lifted his head at these words. "Quick, let me see the photo."

Taking the photo handed to him, Rayburn looked at it, and his once straight shoulders seemed to sag instantly. "This isn't Megan. It seems I've been holding onto too much hope.

Back then, even with that thorough search, you couldn't be found. I guess you have..."

For some reason, Rayburn felt even more disappointed this time than all those previous unsuccessful attempts.

Rayburn placed the photo on the coffee table. It definitely was a photo of a young Cherise with her grandmother, along with several residents in Saphira.

Even at ten, Cherise was captivating, a beauty in the making, and her grandmother beside her was vibrant and stunning.

It was Saturday, and the weather was just right, clear and inviting.

Early in the morning, while on her workout, Cherise received a call from Xenia.

"Hey, Xenia, it's not even 8 o'clock yet. That's unusual for you," Cherise said.

On the other end, Xenia was thrilled to hear Cherise's voice. "Hey, Cherise, you're totally my goddess.

"I just want to thank you for helping my great-grandfather recover from his leg issues. You're a lucky charm for our family, and I love you so much."

The noise on the other end was so loud that Cherise had to hold her phone away from her ear.

"Hey, Cherise, Cherise, are you listening?" Xenia shouted over the phone.

"Yes, Xenia, go ahead. I'm listening," Cherise said, sounding a bit resigned.

Xenia said, "Today is my great-grandfather's 80th birthday, and he specifically invited you to come. He really values this day.

"Plus, this warm and simple family gathering is being organized by Uncle Truman and me, so you can't just skip it to stay home. Please come for my sake."

Thinking about the last time at Ebb & Flow with all those guys and the banner, Cherise couldn't help but smile wryly. The Simpson family was really bold to let Xenia help organize the event.
