Return Of The Real Heiress: Secrets And Masks -
My Billionaire Family 337
Chapter 337
A few hours later, Morris's private jet landed smoothly at Betric Airport. As soon as he stepped off the plane, he headed straight to Chivers Group.
Leo, sitting in the passenger seat, filled him in on the latest happenings in Betrico, "Mr. Chivers, the foundation work for the Syphonca Group has begun. The engineering department reports that the project should be completed by the second half of next year. Morris, sitting in the back. barely reacted. Without Cherise beside him, his face was almost blank. "Just follow Cherise's design plans and make sure the construction site is safe. What about the Chivers residence? Any news?"
Leo answered quickly. "Your biological father went there. According to our Dark Web Division sources, Mrs. Phoebe Chivers didn't let him inside. Apparently, there was some disagreement.
"The issue seems to be that he opposes you and Mrs. Chivers getting married. Word is, he left angrily, complaining that you didn't listen to him anymore. Mrs. Phoebe Chivers had a hard time dealing with it, considering he's her son. She just warned. him."
Morris sneered and said, "Who is he to say no to my marriage? On the surface, he's my biological father, but honestly, he's worse than a stranger.
"He's just feeling uneasy because Cherise is too good, and together, we would become too powerful, something he can't control. If it weren't for Grandma, he would have been....
Never mind. Let's see what trouble he thinks he can cause. Joseph is gone, yet he still hasn't learned his lesson."
Leo paused for a moment before continuing. Also, there's news from the Jarrett family. Mr. Lucas Jarrett wanted you i when you have time. He mentioned bringing Mrs. Chivers along
to visit
Morris didn't respond, his sharp gaze fixed on the view outside the window. The Jarrett family was his birth mother's family. She had died from complications during childbirth, leaving him with only distant memories of her.
Over the years, Morris's connection with the Jarrett family had been limited to his grandfather Lucas, his grandmother Mary, and Arthur. As for Arthur, the government official in Clusia, he was Morris's uncle, though their contact had always been sparse.
Morris guessed that the reason they were asking him to visit was likely because of his marriage to Cherise. It seemed that his decision to register their marriage had stirred up more attention than he had expected. However, he just wondered what Cherise was up to and if she was thinking about him.
In Saphira, Cherise woke up from her nap, reaching for her phone on the nightstand. After checking the time, she realized she had slept for several hours. She felt much more refreshed. Morris sent her a message: [I've arrived in Betrico. Don't worry about me.]
Cherise smiled, rubbed her eyes, and quickly typed a reply: [1 just woke up and missed your message. Don't focus only on work; take care of yourself! I'll have Hugh send you something nice tomorrow. Kisses!]
Right now, Morris was in the middle of a meeting. After being away from the office for a few days, a mountain of work had piled up. He frowned and said, "So, this is how you've handled things while I was gone, huh?" The senior executives sitting around the conference table didn't dare make a sound. They were all anxiously waiting for his next words.

Chapter 837
Many of the executives were secretly wondering why Morris had already become distant so soon after his marriage. They thought, Has his needs not been met? Morris wasn't feeling much better himself. If it weren't for the mountain of things waiting for him in Betrico, he would have preferred to stay in Yasvissa with Cherise.
Irritated, he reached for the pack of cigarrites on the table, pulling one out. Seeing this, Steven quickly stepped forward and lit it for him.
The white smoke curled up into the air, and the room was suddenly filled with the sharp scent of tobacco. The senior executives sitting around the table felt an uneasy chill, their nerves on edge.
Just then, Leo entered the room, holding Morris's phone in his hand. He walked up to him and said, "Mr. Chivers, there's a new message on your WhatsApp"
Morris, still holding the cigarette, immediately perked up. He quickly snatched the phone from Leo's hand and glanced down at the screen. A few seconds later, his previously tense expression softened, and he quickly typed a reply to Cherise: [Looking forward to the package.]
He looked up at the others, his face now noticeably more relaxed "Meeting dismissed. I'll give you one more day to revise the reports. Have them on my desk tomorrow."
A collective sigh of relief passed through the room as everyone quickly grabbed their documents and began filing out of the meeting. In their minds, they silently thanked the person who hard just sent the message.
If they guessed right, it was probably Morris's wife-the one who had softened him just in time.
After Cherise got up and had a meal, she decided to visit Marion
"Well, look who decided to visit us after her husband headed back to Betrico, Marlon, who was playing chess with Trent, joked as he noticed her.
Cherise didn't mind it, knowing it was just casual banter. After placing the pastries Bella had made on the table, she casually sat back on the chair in the living room, making herself at home.
Marlon's house had been renovated years ago by people from Betrico. It had an ancient yet refined feel to it. The small villas surrounding his house were mostly owned by people in Betrico, with only Trent here at the moment. Once the chess ended, Marlon turned to Cherise with a knowing smile. "So, you came all the way out here just to watch us play, huh?"
Cherise tilted her head, replying with a playful grin, "Is that a problem? But I do have something to ask you."
Marlon chuckled heartily. "I knew it. Go on, what's on your mind?
Cherise straightened up, looking at the two of them. "Grandpa Marlon, Mr. Graham, how many years ago was it when you both first came to Saphira?"
They both thought for a moment and then Trent spoke up. "It was 15 years ago. Marlon brought me here. Back then, your grandmother had just brought you from the Leach family."
Marlon nodded, adding, "For me, it was 36 years ago. We came to small villages to help with the infrastructure construction, and I went to Saphira, Yasvissa. At that time, your mother hadn't even graduated from university yet." 09:00 Tue, Dec 17 G
