Chapter 445

Just as Nathan was about to collapse to the floor, the man in the baseball cap extended his arm, grabbed Nathan's collar, and pulled him back up. Being grabbed like that made Nathan shiver even more from fright.

The man asked, "Who are you revealing the secrets to? Who pointed a gun at you? And where are you coming home from?"

The questions brought Nathan back to his senses, and he looked up to meet the eyes under the man's cap.

A few seconds later, he shouted in disbelief, "Mr. Chivers!"

The man in the baseball cap was indeed Morris, and he hadn't rested for an entire day and night.

After finishing work at the Chivers Group, Morris changed clothes and came straight here to keep a watch.

Nathan relaxed a little when he saw it was Morris, but then he became nervous again.

Morris' tricks were as good as those of Ghost Hand. Nathan gently asked, "Mr. Chivers, why are you here at this time?"

Morris was starting to get impatient and remarked, "Answer the questions I asked you earlier honestly. You should know the consequences of lying to me." Nathan felt like breaking down, having just escaped one dangerous situation to fall into another.

After thinking it over, Nathan gritted his teeth and said, "Mr. Chivers, I'm really at my wit's end. I know you may have your methods, but you're a man of integrity. "Here're the truth, it was Ghost Hand. Two months ago, Ghost Hand took me and forced me to reveal the tech secrets of my company, and I was not the only victim. "Many influential people in Clusia are connected with them.

"I really don't know the exact location; I was blindfolded the whole time.

"Today, I found myself cornered into a desperate situation. A man aimed a gun at me, threatening my life. I had no choice but to sign a contract with Ghost Hand, surrendering all my technology. Only after I complied did they let me go.

"I have no idea what Ghost Hand looks like; he's always dressed in black and wears a mask.

"Moreover, the location where this occurred is likely undetectable by any GPS.

"They have their own signal-blocking tower, which was constructed and is maintained by renowned international professionals, forced into service by Clusia's tech tycoons.

"Ghost Hand's truly reckless. Consider the number of prominent figures who have vanished recently-none have been found."

As Nathan spoke, his expression became truly pained.

Morris's neck veins bulged prominently. He was astonished to learn that such a brazen organization operated within the otherwise tranquil region of Clusia.

There was a signal-blocking tower. Now Morris understood why he had found nothing after he had searched for a whole day and night

Looking at Nathan, Morris asked, "Before you came out today, did you see any unfamiliar faces in there?"

Nathan seemed to be trying hard to recall as he shook his head, murmuring, "It seems like there was-yes, there was! It was woman.

"That's right. Ghost Hand called her Mrs. Chivers. It seemed there was an old lady next to her, but I didn't look closely."

Nathan suddenly realized something and widened his eyes, staring at Morris. Nathan said, "Mrs. Chivers? Is that your wife, Mr. Chivers?

"It seems like she'll be up the day after tomorrow, so she'll face the same tough decision as I did.

"Your wife looks like a delicate woman, Mr. Chivers..."

Hearing that, Morris released his grip from Nathan's collar.

As soon as Morris let go, the elevator started going up again. It wasn't until the door opened on the 32nd floor that Morris finally said, "Just go home now." Nathan glanced at Morris, looking conflicted. Finally, Nathan said, "Please, Mr. Chivers, don't tell anyone we met."

Morris nodded as the elevator door slowly closed, and it started descending again.

Night fell. After dinner, but before returning to her room, Cherise intentionally walked past two Ghost Hand staff members engaged in conversation. One of them whispered, "Boss is gone, right?"

The other replied, "Yeah, he's left. Probably won't be back until tomorrow. Want to have some fun tonight?"

The man agreed, "Definitely! Being stuck in this damn place every day is really getting boring."

"Just look at your bank account balance," the other guy teased.

Cherise smirked and went back to her room.

It was past midnight, and everyone in Cherise's room was already asleep.

Suddenly, Cherise's eyes opened wide, and she sat up quickly.

Seeing that the light under the door had disappeared, Cherise removed the rubber band from her wrist and tied her hair into a neat bun.

Then she stood up and moved nimbly towards the door.

She examined the somewhat complex door lock and took a thin black hairpin from her thick hair.

With a gentle twist, Cherise opened the door just a crack withou causing any noise.

Through the gap in the door, Cherise peeked into the lobby outside. Aside from a few lights on, all the other lights were off

There were about six people on patrol at night, and Cherise could easily handle them.

She glanced at that mysterious spot, silently counting, Three, I one. Then she quickly shut the door, moved out of the surveillance range, and slipped away. There weren't many needles left, so Cherise had to use them cal fously

Cherise noted the positions of the night patrol and reached into her pocket for the peanuts she hadn't finished at dinner.

Feeling her stomach slightly shrink after the past few days, she quickly flicked a peanut at each of the guys, hitting pressure points from a distance.

In an instant, the once drowsy six slipped into a blank stare, standing straight as if frozen in time.

After hitting their pressure points, Cherise didn't waste any time and dodged the security cameras again, sprinting like lightning toward the attic.

There really were many cameras around. If Cherise hadn't been so slim and agile, she wouldn't have been able to avoid them.

There were several guards in the attic, just like the lobby. Using the same method, Cherise flicked the last few peanuts at them. After that, Cherise cautiously observed the layout of the attic.

As expected, she found the exit was on the second floor. There was a large iron door with a transparent glass pane in the middle.

From there, Cherise could clearly see the pitch-black sky outside, along with the towering cliffs and trees.

It was clearly a basin-like terrain. To the right of the iron gate was the place where Ghost Hand stood during the morning gathering, watching Cherise.

To save time, Cherise fiddled with some buttons on her clothes, walked in with a bit of caution, and came out a few minutes later.

Then, Cherise calmly retraced her steps back to her room, following the same path she had taken when she left.

After locking the door, Cherise lay down on the wooden bed and closed her eyes to rest.

Half an hour later, all the night patrols and guards outside the door were back to normal. No one knew what had just happened, and no one noticed anything unusual. SEND GIFT
