Chapter 458

Morris wasn't sure what had just happened. He simply furrowed his brows slightly in mild displeasure.

Cherise, sitting in the passenger seat, didn't know what was bothering Morris, but she caught the subtle shift in his demeanor. "Is everything okay?" she asked.

Morris turned slightly towards her and said gently, "It's nothing I think I just haven't been getting enough rest lately. My vision blurred for a moment, but it's fine now.

Cherise nodded and pointed to herself. "You've got a doctor right here. Once we're home, I'll check on you-no consultation fee required"

Hearing this, Morris took one hand off the steering wheel and gently stroked her face. "Thank you in advance, then. I'm yours, completely-what's a consultation fee compared to that?"

The two continued chatting and laughing like any ordinary couple, completely at ease with each other and hiding nothing.

Meanwhile, on Carson's private island, the familiar sound of hearty laughter rang out-it was unmistakably from Phoebe. Morris had arranged for Leo to bring both his grandmother and Enya over to visit Carson. It was Phoebe's first time on the island. Even someone as worldly as her couldn't help but marvel at its unique charm-it felt like a hidden paradise.

Carson sat at a table in the pavilion, while Phoebe, Enya, and Leo sat opposite him, forming a neat circle.

"Mr. Garcia, since you're Cherise's master, I guess that makes us sort of family now," Phoebe said with a smile. I'm counting on you to choose an auspicious date for their wedding."

Though Carson's demeanor was warm and approachable, his status as a founding figure of the nation and a mentor to Arthur still carried a certain weight.

To the three sitting before him, it felt like being students back in class, listening attentively to their teacher.

Carson took out a sheet of paper and carefully wrote down the birthdates of Morris and Cherise. With his fingers, he began making precise calculations.

After a moment, he wrote down a date below their birth details, set down his pen, and nodded in satisfaction. He looked up at the three and said, "Though times have changed, traditions like this still hold meaning. "I've picked the date-two months from today, on the sixth of May. Mrs. Chivers, what do you think?"

Phoebe nodded enthusiastically and replied, "That's perfect. Though we still have to wait two months, I completely trust you on this. This is a monumental occasion, and I'll make sure Morris puts his heart into the preparations." Carson nodded in agreement. "It certainly is a joyous event. If you need any help, don't hesitate to ask. After all, I'm practically family to Cherise."

"Of course! I am sharing the news on social media to spread the joy and maybe show off a little," Phoebe said with a chuckle, pulling her phone out of her pocket.

Morris and Cherise had returned to Chivers Residence, freshened up, and settled in for the evening. Cherise lounged on the sofa, engrossed in a drama, while Morris sat beside her, focused on his work documents.

Chapter 458

Just then, Morris's phone rang-it was Leo, calling about the date for their wedding.

92%

Though Morris maintained a composed expression, joy surged within him. "Alright," he said calmly. "Find me a wedding planner-someone experienced and reliable.

"And keep Truman and Xenia out of it for now. It'd be best if they don't even hear about it until we've settled on the planner?

After hanging up, Morris realized his palms were damp with sweat. He rested a hand over his chest, feeling his heart pounding beneath it.

He'd read before that a wedding is one of the most significant moments in a couple's life-filled with nerves, anticipation, and emotion. He hadn't felt it before, but now, an unexplainable tension had begun to rise within him. Cherise, lying on the sofa watching TV, noticed his silence and looked up. "Was that Leo? What's going on-something about the wedding?"

As she spoke, she shifted, resting her head on Morris's lap and reaching out to lightly touch his Adam's apple.

Morris lowered his head, brushing her lips with a soft kiss. "Yes, two months from today-the sixth of May." He gently pinched her cheek and asked, "So, are you excited?"

Cherise thought for a moment before replying, "Of course. I'm just a regular girl, you know. Like everyone else, I can't help but look forward to my wedding.

"My grandma used to say that a bride is at her most beautiful on her wedding day. So, to be honest, I've dreamed about my wedding since I was little.

"Back then, though, I couldn't imagine who my groom would be. Now it's different. I have two months to look forward to it. After Morris heard her words, his determination to make the wedding perfect grew even stronger. He believed the woman he loved deserved the most breathtaking wedding the world had ever known. Unable to resist, he leaned in and kissed Cherise once more.

"Ms. Leach," he teased with a playful grin, "weren't you going to give me a check-up? Now's your chance-late at night, no interruptions. Go ahead. I'm all yours!" With that, he lazily leaned back on the sofa, stretching out his long arms invitingly.
