At The GALA

“Before we head to the gala, let’s go shopping for a dress and get you a makeover,” I suggested, while Selena

nodded.

“James, take us to Design Castle,” 1 instructed my driver as we set off for shopping. Upon arriving at the luxurious boutique, I led Selena inside to check through the array of designer outfits.

Selena tried on several dresses until we found the perfect one that accentuated her figures flawlessly. We carefully selected matching heels and a handbag to complete the dress. Selena was busy with her outfit, I also chose my suit for the evening.

A skilled makeup artist was called in to enhance Selena’s natural beauty, and as she emerged from the makeover, I was left in awe. She looked absolutely stunning. The dress hugged her curves in all the right places and I couldn’t

ask for more.

Dressed in my suit, I felt so proud standing beside Selena, who radiated confidence and poise. Together, we made our way to the Cyber Connections Gala, held at the prestigious MEDIS Hotels.

We arrived at the MEDIS Hotels, the scene flurry with reporters and media personnel swarming around, their cameras flashing and microphones thrusting. Stepping out of the car, I assisted Selena, ensuring she alighted without an issue due to her dress. Suddenly the reporters recognized me.

“That’s Jasper Santos, CEO of ByteForge Technology!” exclaimed one of the journalists, instantly drawing attention to us. The media’s focus quickly shifted to Selena and me as they rushed to us, their questions coming fast and furiously. Sensing the scrutiny, Selena placed her hand on my arm.

“Mr. Santos, how are you feeling about this event?” Asked one of the reporters, all their microphone inches away from my mouth.

“I’m feeling optimistic as always,” I responded smiling, maintaining my composure.

Suddenly, another reporter cut in with a more probing question, “Mr. Santos, who is this woman next to you? Your girlfriend? Your wife? You haven’t made your relationship public before. Who is she?”

I looked at Selena. I wanted to tell the world she is the woman I have always loved, the only woman I have always longed for, the key to my heart but then I couldn’t, Selena haven’t given me an answer she said she wasn’t ready for now and I needed to respect that..then a quick decision, I turned back to the reporters, “She is the new model for our upcoming app.”

“oh!” They all exclaimed.

The reporters continued to barrage me with questions, one of them asked again, “Sir, what’s the new app all about?” My mind was elsewhere, preoccupied with ensuring Selena’s comfort amidst the chaos. I turned to her, silently seeking her approval, and she nodded in response. we walked on, leaving the persistent reporters behind as the security guards intervened to keep them at bay.

Entering the grand hall of the event, Selena suddenly came to a halt, her movements freezing in place. Sensing her unease, I turned to look at her, only to replace her eyes fixed on something. Following her eyes, my eyes fell upon a familiar figure – Colin

Our eyes locked with Colin’s across the crowded Gala party, and I felt so angry. I had hoped to distract Selena from him, but there he was, the wizard himself. Colin’s presence loomed not too far away, his icy stare fixed on Selena. I looked at Selena and could see the look on her face, she felt unsafe. I looked back at Colin.

Without breaking eye contact with Colin, 1 stepped forward, positioning myself between Selena and him, and gently took her left hand, and guided her away from his paze. Just then, my eyes caught sight of Mr. Harris approaching us.

“Oh, Mr. Harris, it’s been a long time,” I said, relieved from the Interruptione

“Well, well, it’s been forever!” Mr. Harris replied, smbing.

I moved to offer Mr. Harris a handshake, But then out of nowhere a sudden Interruption caught me off guard. Before I could react, someone cut in, gripping Mr. Harris’s hand before I could make contact. I lifted my eyes to see Colin standing there, a smug smile on his lips.

“Why the look, Jasper?” Colin asked, before turning his attention to Mr. Harris.

“Good evening, I’m Colin Rogers, my pleasure meeting you. And you must be…?” he asked, Mr. Harris.

“Mr. Harris,” came the reply from Mr Harris

extending a polite nod.

“It’s so nice to meet you, Mr. Harris,” Colin responded and smirked at me.

“Who are you to Jasper?” Mr Harris asked Colin, he looked at me and then

at Colic

“I’m his rival, his trying to steal my wo….” Colin was about saying but I quickly interrupted

Business rival Mr Harris! Business Rival” I replied…

Mr. Harris chuckled heartily at the revelation. “Oh, it’s nice to have a rival here in Boston Hills. It brings a bit of excitement, unlike in the States where everyone minds their own business,” he remarked. A touch of humor, Colin and I gave a fake laugh.

“Nice meeting you Mr Rogers” Mr Harris said to Colin and then turned to me. “I’ll see you around Mr Santos Mr Harris replied, pat me on the back and left.

As soon as Mr Harris left I turned to Colin, still holding Selena’s hand.

“What was that about? What do you think you’re doing?” I demanded, locking eyes with him. I’ve had enough of his bull shit, I literally have and am tired of it.

Colin took a step closer. “Showing you I can do more than you think. Selena is mine, and you shouldn’t act out trying to win her,“.

wants.” I retorted,

“She was never yours to begin with. She belongs to herself and has the right to choose who she wants,” closing the distance between us until we stood face to face.

Before our confrontation could escalate further, I heard my name. “Mr. Santos, Mr. Santos!” drawing my attention away from Colin. I turned to see a group of new CEOs and Millionaires I had worked with in the past, and they

rushed to me.

“It’s been a while Mr Santos that website design you choosed for me was wonderful” one said as they all kept talking in turns.

They pushed Colin and Selena aside in the process, and I found myself in a business discussion. Despite the crowd around me, my mind couldn’t shake the nagging thought of Selena’s absence, and I regret not holding on tight. “Why did I let go of her hand?” I questioned myself silently, feeling unease as the crowd got closer, changing my

focus from everything else.
