"You..." Bea's eyes blazed as she watched James walk away from the Burke family estate. "He takes his shares and then turns his back on us, just like that? Truly his mother's son! Does he even care about his grandmother anymore?" James halted, his footsteps echoing in the grand hallway. He turned and looked at Bea. "Grandmother, in the Burke family, the one with the power gets to speak. Isn't that what you've always taught me? I've remembered every word. And as a daughter-in-law of the Burke family, you shouldn't forget your place either."

Bea was left speechless, trying to digest his words. The Burke family prided itself on its conservative traditions, expecting women to obey their husbands and manage the household. But these weren't age-old customs; they were rules Bea had set after her son got married. The old patriarch never enforced such restrictions on her. Bea had clung to outdated beliefs, aiming to control her son and daughter-in-law.

James had always known this but never spoke out, respecting Bea as his grandmother. Over the years, however, she had grown increasingly unreasonable. Now, as James walked away, Bea found herself alone in the vast Burke Estate. Marian stepped forward cautiously. "Bea..."

"They've all turned against me!" Bea's face turned pale with anger, yet she couldn't replace the words. How had it come to this? Even her once-obedient grandson was defying her. Could it be... she was wrong? But she had always acted for the good of the Burke family. How could she be wrong?

"Bea, that's not what he meant. Maybe... you should rest a bit."

Marian's concern was evident. Bea, however, was resolute. "Contact Colt for me. I want him to keep an eye on James. I need to know what's going on with him! The head of the Burke family cannot be led astray by that girl Sophie, nor can he ruin everything for a woman!" "Yes, Bea."

As night fell, Sophie and Colby returned to the Burke Estate. Seeing that Jenna and Adler were out, likely handling business, they realized they were alone. Angelo and Sandy were lounging in the living room, idly watching TV.

Sandy sighed, "Life's been so dull

lately, with two practically half-de

upstairs, and not a single lively soul

around! What have you two been up to?"

Sophie looked puzzled. "Half-dead?"

"Mr. Gordon A bunch of doctors rushed to the second floor today! No idea what's going on."

Sophie froze. "Doctors came to the house?"

Sandy rolled her eyes. "Sophie, when did you turn into an echo?" Sophie turned to Colby, who nodded. "I'll go check."

"Okay."

Sophie and Colby headed together, Angelo perking up

following them. Cont

Sandy stomped her foot. "Bro! Where are you going now?" Sandy's frustration was palpable. What was with everyone today? "It's just James. I'll call my dad, and he'll sort everything out!"
