Kevin spoke in a measured tone, "There's a rumor going around that the four great families hold the secret to the Devonport treasure, and this secret has always been guarded by the head of the Aldridge family." Angelo asked, "So does that mean only Gordon knows the secret of the Devonport treasure?"

Kevin shook his head, "This generation is an exception. Years ago, a kidnapping incident took the lives of Yun Lian's parents, and with them, the secret of Devonport was lost. As for whether Yun Lian knows... you should ask him. But I think he probably doesn't, given how suddenly it all happened. His father likely didn't have the chance to tell him where the treasure is located."

"Miss Shen, do you have the Aldridge family's heirloom gemstone with you?"

When Christian asked, Sophie immediately thought of the blue gemstone Harold had given her. She replied, "Yes, I have it. If you want it back..." Christian waved his hand with a smile, "No, no, no, it was given to you, so it's yours now. Just make sure you take good care of it and never lose it."

Sophie nodded, "I will take good care of it, sir."

Kevin added, "Also, our visit to Devonport is now public knowledge. We've reclaimed the Aldridge family's private seal. The next time you use it, unless it's a matter of life and death, don't show it lightly."

"I understand."

The last time had been a desperate situation, and she knew the seal must not be misused.

"Good," Kevin said, nodding at Sophie before leading the group away from Burke Estate.

After Kevin left, Angelo voiced his confusion, "If the private seal is so useful, why can it only be used once? What a waste!"

"The more precious something is,

the less it should be misused,

because misuse would diminish its inherent value," Sophie explained. "The private seal summons the

Aldridge family's manpower annet

resources. Each use brings about significant upheaval. If it's used every time there's an issue, outsiders will no longer respect it, and it will lose its deterrent power."

Angelo nodded thoughtfully, then admitted, "But I still don't get what you mean!"

Jenna, exasperated, said, "Mr. Angelo, why does your brain only work sometimes? Sophie means you should always keep a bit of mystery, so others can't figure you out. If you had a vault full of gold and flaunted it, what would people think?"

"They'd think I was showing off?"

"Exactly!" Jenna said. "The Aldridge family has been revered for years because they don't show off but still manage to command respect. It's like the deep sea-unfathomably deep, naturally commanding respect. But if you're like a shallow pond, clear at a glance, would anyone fear you?"

"Slow down! If you explain it slowly, I'll understand!"

Angelo was anxious; he wasn't used to such intricate thoughts.

"We're back! We're back! We've returned!"

Outside the Burke Estate, Adler hurried in, anxious. He ran straight to Jenna and asked, "Has something big happened at home? Is Mr. Gordon alright?"
