"It's not that line, it's the one before it!"

"Uh..." Adler scratched his head, thinking. "We must've botched our investigation!"

"The line before that!"

"This is a ledger, not a treasure map, right?"

"Yep, that's the line."

Adler looked puzzled. "What's so special about that line?"

Sophie explained, "I've always thought it was odd. This ledger was so dangerous back then, yet it wasn't burned. Instead, it was hidden, and not just anywhere, but in each family's ancestral hall. I bet the Tredgold and Costello families have similar ledgers. Maybe when you put them together, they form a treasure map." Jenna and Adler exchanged bewildered glances.

Jenna said, "I've heard of treasure maps hidden in poems and paintings, but this is the first time I've heard of one hidden in a ledger!"

"Sophie, your imagination is wild," Adler remarked. "If this turns out to be true, it would be absolutely crazy! What kind of treasure would be hidden in a ledger?"

Sophie shook her head, saying, "Mr. Adler, I need you to go back to the Tredgold estate and see if you can replace anything in the ancestral hall."

"??"

Adler felt everyone's eyes on him. He swallowed hard and protested, "No way! I've never liked going into ancestral halls. Either the ancestors will be displeased, or my dad will beat me. You're asking me to sneak in? I need a solid reason for that!" Colby said flatly, "Doesn't matter what the reason is, you have to go."

"Me?"

Adler's eyes widened. This was insane!

Sneaking into his own family's ancestral hall to steal something? If his dad found out, he'd be dead!

"What are you scared of? I'll go with you!"

Jenna gave Adler a reassuring pat

on the shoulder. "If it comes down to it, just say your grandparents want to meet their granddaughter-in-law, and you're bringing me along"

"You think my dad is that easy to fool?"

Adler said, "I'm just worried we'll get caught before we even grab the stuff!"

"Not gonna happen. If anyone's getting caught, it'll be you. I'm not a Tredgold, your dad can't punish me!" "You!"

Facing the group's expectant eyes, Adler finally clenched his teeth and said, "Fine, I'll go! If I die, so be it!"

Jenna nodded. "Right, who hasn't faced death? Sooner or later, it comes for all of us! And you won't be alone, I'll be with you."

Adler felt wronged, but Jenna turned

to Sophie and Colby. "The Tredgold family is really strict. I think you two should come with us to distract his parents. That way, we'll have a better chance of sneaking into the ancestral hall."

Sophie glanced at Colby, then asked, doubtful, "How do we distract them?" "You two just got married, right? Pay a visit to the elders."

Jenna explained, "Mrs. May is actually quite nice, but Mr. Wesley... he's old-fashioned and very stern, not easy to get along with. Keep Mr. Wesley busy, and everything should go smoothly." en Narugi

"Alright."

Sophie agreed without hesitation.

Colby gathered the ledgers and then announced, "We'll make our move tonight."

"What about me? What about me?" Angelo stood in front of the four, asking eagerly, "Do I have any tasks?"
