Hearing Sandy's voice, Angelo bolted in her direction without a second thought.

Sophie was right on his heels. As they entered, they saw Sandy being hassled by a group of middle-aged goons.

Sandy, dressed in a blue and white checkered mini skirt with her golden curls cascading down her back, looked every bit the spoiled princess from a wealthy family.

Sophie couldn't help but feel a twinge of concern. Sandy's outfit was practically a beacon for unwanted attention in a place like this. Any hope of keeping a low profile for their investigation was now out the window. "Back off, all of you!"

Angelo stepped in front of Sandy, his imposing six-foot frame and straight posture instantly commanding attention.

"Brother! They dared to touch me! Cut off their hands! I want them fed to the dogs!" Sandy fumed.

Angelo's initial bravado caught in his throat as he noticed the thugs' expressions darkening.

Sandy had often spouted such threats abroad without consequence, but this was Devonport. Here, such boldness could easily earn them a beating.

Seeing the situation spiraling out of control, Sophie stepped forward. "We're all here to have a good time. No need to get rough with a girl."

The lead thug, eyeing Sophie up and down despite her casual clothes and lack of makeup, smirked. "Oh, another hero, huh? Pretty, too. How about you and your sister keep us company tonight, and we'll call it even? Otherwise, things might get nasty." "How dare you!" Sandy snapped. "Do you even know who you're talking to?"

The six greasy-looking men leered at them. Sophie noticed their tattoos and couldn't help but chuckle. "Which one of you touched my sister?"

A blond thug stepped forward, his stance defiant. "I did. So what?"

Around the arcade, other men stood up, though a few savvy patrons quickly made their exit.

The staff, too scared to intervene, watched as Sophie surveyed the dozen or so men now sizing them up.

Sandy's appearance had indeed stirred up quite a hornet's nest.

The leader, cigarette dangling from his lips, boasted, "Everyone in this arcade is part of our crew. You should've asked around about us in Devonport! Cross us, and men will pay with their lives; women, with their dignity." "You!"

Sandy, unable to bear the insult, moved to slap the man, but Sophie stopped her. "So, you're a big deal in Devonport, huh?"

"Damn right!" the greasy man leered. "Stick with me, and I might even pay you a little."

Just as his hand reached for Sophie, the arcade doors burst open. A flood of people armed with stun batons rushed in. Colby strolled in through the haze, casually waving away the smoke. With a frown, he commanded, "Take them all down." "Yes, sir!"

The Costello family's well-trained guards swiftly subdued the thugs, pinning them to the ground in no time.
