Revenge
Chapter 4

“Understood, Dr. Smith, may I start my training please?”, I ask.

Dr. Smith looks surprised before turning to his reports. After looking at the data, he looks up at Megan.

“If you are ok with this Madam I can have her start today.”, handing her the report.

Megan looks over the report before giving it back to Dr. Smith, “You may begin. The reports look good and stable. Place her in the combat courses that don’t go easy on her. After the combat courses put her in the right courses to make her of use to us.”

And with that Dr. Smith stands and motions for me to follow. This time my legs feel stable as I follow him out the office. We walk for a bit until; we enter another room. The room was huge, filled with all kinds of different exercise equipment all to the right side of the room. To the left was a large mat area where one could combat train.

The front of the room was a wall full of different weapons. The back corner was fully staffed and filled with first aid stations. In the center was a tall man dressed in all black. He was at least six feet tall give or take three inches. As we walked closer to the center I got a better view of him. His hair was black as the night sky and was up in a man bun. I was kind of curious to see how long his hair really was.

Eyes shine bright with the sugilite coloring of a jaguar’s. They were both gorgeous and deadly. Made me wonder just how many kills this man has under his belt already. His eyes looked like they had seen many deaths and horrible things. And if I wasn’t mistaken I could’ve sworn I saw a glimmer of amusement when we approached.

Oliver’s ears sat on top of his head proportionally similar to mine. Like me skin looks dark but as I observed more it was his fur that colored his skin making his skin appear as black as shadows. Regardless of his transformation he was still very attractive.

“Smith, to what brings you here to the training grounds?”, he asked

Dr. Smith side stepped, revealing me behind him. His look of surprise as he took in my full appearance.

“Megan wants you to train her. This is Ami, once you are done for the day. Bring her back to the lab she is to stay there until her DNA has fully stabilized. You are not to hold back. Understood?”, spoke Dr. Smith.

Oliver nodded, as Dr. Smith turned left to whatever hell Oliver was about to come up with. He looked me up and down examining my body without touching. Yet his gaze didn’t make me feel uncomfortable; it wasn’t lustful but rather like he was coming up with a plan on just how much my body could take training wise. But there was just something off about him, that I couldn’t quite put my finger on. I decided it was probably nothing but I will just be careful going forward.

His tone was a low baritone as he spoke, “We are going to start off with the basics. I will show you the stretches, the stamina training, hand to hand combat training. Afterwards we will have shooting/target practice.”

He picks up one of my paw-like hands examining them as if to determine how much strength is behind them,”You will be trained in both guns and archery. We will finish it with weapons training. You need to choose a weapon or weapons that call out to you. Don’t try to be flashy pick only to what calls to you.”

My jaw dropped. I knew he was intense. I could sense that from him but all he had plan. I don’t know if my body can handle it all. But I won’t back down. He proceeds to show me stretches that take about fifteen minutes to go through.

By the time we are done I feel that good ache between my muscles of them being well stretched. Oliver leads me to the treadmill and sets the speed ahead of time to steady run.

“Hop on, the speed is set. You will be keeping this pace until you reach fifteen miles.”

I looked at him like he was crazy. Eight miles I could do, fifteen to me was insane. And at this speed I would most likely collapse from exhaustion. He looks at me like I’m weak. Judging by his stare I know he doesn’t think very high of me.

I’m not a weak woman and now I’m essentially a humanoid snow leopard. I’m not going to let this jaguar asshole underestimate me. Hopping on to the treadmill making sure to keep my balance, I begin my run. Oliver walks away to prepare the rest of the training that we will be doing. An hour and twenty minutes later, I’m dripping in sweat.

My legs are sore and I feel like I could down a gallon of water. Turning off the treadmill I step down, seeing Oliver walking over to me handing me a water bottle. I drank it all and tossed the bottle into the recycling. He turns leading me to the training mat.

“Have you ever had any hand to hand combat training?”, he asks.

“No, I have gotten into my fair share of fights but never any formal training.”, I respond.

Oliver nods, “We’ll have a practice spar where I can gauge your abilities. That way I know where to begin and we don’t waste time.”

I nod in acknowledgement and get into stance. Oliver is soon on me fists flying like something out of a movie. And to my surprise I am able to see them and block when I was able to. Getting hit a few times in the ribs, hip, and shoulder. Our genetic makeup making it the only reason why I wasn’t on the floor broken.

I wasn’t going to let this go. I went on the attack after getting an idea of his fight style. I landed hits to his chest, shoulder, and the sides of his abdominal. Oliver begins to add in kicks and I grin. A fight always makes my blood boil and the euphoria floods my body. A punch to my face had my blood splatter to the floor as I slid back on my feet.

I go on the attack, running at him on pure instinct, jumping and swinging my legs around to land a hit to the side of his neck. Landing on my hands using the moment to get another hit to his ribs. He roared in pain as he grabbed my leg after impact and swung me to the side. I cry out as my body slams into exercise equipment. Falling to the floor, I feel blood running down the side of my head and cuts all over my arms with a few on my legs.

“Ah fuck, I’m sorry Ami for someone who has no formal training you did very well. I was trying to pull back despite Smith’s request. Are you alright?”, he asks.

I groan as I slowly get up, wiping the blood away from my left eye.

“I’ll live, I’d rather you not hold back. However, next training session I want a rematch!”, I grin looking at him.

Oliver laughs and I can’t help laughing with him as he leads me to the first aid station. Cleaning all the superficial cuts and scrapes. He cleans my head wound before placing a bandage over it.

“Come on, we still have weapons training and shooting range to go.”, he says.

I nod getting up, I follow him to the weapons area. Looking at all the weapons, there were so many kinds. The wall consisted of swords, daggers, hammers, hatchets and many other kinds that I couldn’t identify. It wasn’t until I spotted two bags of kunai knives. I had to have them. Grabbing the bags and attaching them to my belt. Oliver looks at me with surprise and interest.

“Most people would go for military knives or swords. Why the kunai knives?”, he asks.

“You said choose what calls to you and these did. I don’t like knives that are not very aerodynamic and half the time not very practical.”

He thinks my response over, “Not practical in what way?”

“Well you have many conditions to think about. Such as the weight of the knives, make, model, their intended use, and maintenance to say the least.”, I respond.

“I can respect that response.”

“What weapon did you choose?”, I ask.

“Twin blades, nothing is as fun as slicing someone down and seeing their blood rain down upon them after impact.”, he shrugs.
