Chapter 53

"That stupid dog!" She cursed him as she stomped in anger, she stopped for a moment and turned back, "Wow! You won't even come behind me now?" She narrowed her eyes at the hollow woods.

"I'm so done with him!" She turned around and continued to walk, after walking for hours, she stopped and sat down, "Where am I going anyway?" She heaved a deep sigh. She closely closed her eyes and leaned back, the faces of two people flashed in her mind, "Argh!" She shouted as her eyes snapped open. "Damn him!" Her eyes began to sting as tears pooled in her eyes, "he had his arms around her like it was the most natural thing to do, he allows her to get close as she pleases but shoves me away as if I'm some sort of plague?" a drop of tear trickled down her cheek, "oh no no, I'm not going to cry," She shook her head, "that was all a lie, he wouldn't do this to me, right? Of course, he won't," She shook her head, "But..." Her lower lips quivered as she looked down the empty path, "But... why isn't he here yet?"

"You wish!" She clicked her tongue, "No one's coming," She hugged her knees as she sniffed.

"*Didn't I tell you he doesn't deserve you?*" Her ears perked up to the voice, she jerked her head up but didn't replace anyone there, "*See he betrayed you after all" The voice laughed at her.

"Ah, I should've known," Alexa scoffed as she got up on her feet, she then wiped her tears off and searched the source of the voice, "So, were you behind this all?" She asked the voice. "*You're not even surprised?*"

"Why would I be? It was you, after all, I knew something was off, Carla and 'see ya later' didn't go together," Alexa shrugged.

"*Haha*" She laughed out, "*Sorry but you realized it too late,*" She whispered.

"uh-huh?" Alexa raised her brows, suddenly there was all black, "What?" Alexa frowned, "What the hell is going on?" She shouted.

"*Welcome! Dear Queen!*" The voice came from right behind her.

Turning around, she saw the woman in the red cloak, "You!" Alexa yelled, when she tried to walk towards her something powerful repelled her throwing her back to her place.

Her eyes then noticed the surrounding, she was no longer in the woods, she was inside a humongous cave, "What the hell is this place?" Alexa shouted.

"This? This is the place you'll die," The woman laughed hysterically as she threw her head back, the cloak slowly slid off her head revealing her face, "Carla?" Alexa narrowed her eyes.

"Oh, I only burrowed her body for a while," She laughed but suddenly she began to gasp, Alexa's brows knitted together in a deep frown, "what's going on?" she muttered.

"I don't have time for this, let us begin," She shouted.

Suddenly, Alexa was pulled to the ground as if the gravity had intensified just then, "What the hell is this?" Alexa tried to get up but she heard the metal strike to the ground and the gravity then intensified.

"Who?" She saw the shadow from afar, she tried to raise her head to look at the person but with the strike of the metal staff on the ground, she was stuck to the ground. "No, I can't fall weak, I need to get up," She thought to herself. "*Too bad, you can't escape*" She heard the woman inside her head.

"what the hell?" Alexa shouted.

"Yes, let us kill her and get over with it," Carla shouted as she chanted on few spells.

"*Tsk, tsk, that stupid woman she thinks we're going to kill you, well, she doesn't know, you're a vassal, my vassal*," The woman laughed.

"What rubbish!" Alexa yelled out.

"*But I'm thankful to that idiot, she has helped me bring you here*,"

"You think you can confine me here?" Alexa shouted as she tried to get up, the gravity tried to pull her down but she resisted, "Argh!" She shouted as she tried to defy the force pulling her down, "I am the queen, you don't mess with me and get away with it!" She shouted out as she used up her entire strength, finally, she was on her feet, her eyes glowed red as she glared at the man holding the staff. The man had his face covered down his eyes, and his black hair covered his right eye making his other piercing silver eye visible.

"*Yes, yes, this is so satisfying, show me more, show me more of your powers*," The woman laughed inside her head.

"get out of my head!" Alexa shouted.

"*Don't worry, this will be over in few minutes, after this you won't feel anything, cause after this you won't be here anymore*,"

"Just shut up!" Alexa yelled out, suddenly everything was quiet and dark, "what the hell? Where?" Alexa looked around but she found nothing but darkness.

Slowly the light started creeping in, she could hear the dropping of the water, "this place, I've been here before," Alexa muttered as she began to walk, an intense thirst burned her throat, "This... this is..." She stammered as she gulped. "*that's right, this is the place where we first met, this is the place where I helped you awaken for the first time,*" The woman answered.

"That was you?" Alexa frowned.

"*yes, now continue, you need to reach me, come and open the door for me,*"

"The door?" Alexa muttered as a huge black door with ancient carvings came into her view, "this door..." She muttered. "*Yes, open this door, open it for me*."

Alexa slowly stepped forward, "*Yes, get going*" She could hear the woman whisper. Alexa walked in a daze following the command, but she came to an abrupt stop as she heard another voice inside her head, "*Alex? Alex? Damn! Answer me, Alex? Where are you?*"

"*Don't listen to him, Alex, he just cheated on you, didn't he? You saw it with your own eyes, this man doesn't deserve you, just keep going, don't listen to him," The woman spoke. Alexa then resumed her walk, "*Yes, that's right, come to me, just like that," She could hear the woman whisper as she continued to walk, "*I waited for centuries for this day and now you're finally here, my only descendent who's capable to free me from this prison, you don't know how much I've waited for this moment, yes we're just close*,"

"*Alex? Can you hear me? Alex?*" The male voice interrupted again.

Alexa closed her eyes, "*Alex? Please, answer me, please,*" She could hear the desperation in his voice.

"Reagan?" She whispered as she snapped out of the trance, "*Are you serious?*" The woman scoffed at her, "*didn't he ignore you? Didn't he push you away? Didn't he have some other woman in his arms? Are you going back to the man who clearly chose another woman over you?*"

"Weren't you the one behind that?" Alexa retorted.

"*I didn't use anything on him, he just came on his own,*" The woman replied, Alexa's heart stung with pain, "*I'll give you an honest opinion, he doesn't deserve you,*" The woman told her.

"Who needs your opinion?" Alexa scoffed.

"*Well, ask yourself then, do you think it was really my doing?*" The woman asked her, "*Even you know the truth, you're just denying it, don't be a fool, love, mate, loyalty, it's all bullshit, they'll only betray you in the end,*" there was a hint of pain and sadness in her voice.

"Were you betrayed too?" Alexa asked her, the woman suddenly went silent.

After a moment, the voice spoke again, "*yes... I was betrayed...*" Her voice shook, "*I waited for centuries for the one who can pull me out from this darkness, all these years no one came, no one could make it, they were all useless, they didn't have the power to summon me, I didn't replace anyone with the power on the same wavelength as mine... but finally you're here, my vassal, you'll be the medium for my revenge, you'll get me out of here, once I take your body over, everything will be mine, even the tremendous power of yours will be mine and then they'll pay, they'll face my wrath, all of them, who put me through the pain, all my time that I've spent on in the darkness, I'll make them pay for every second of it, I'll swipe the entire werewolf clan from the face of the earth," The anger reverberated in her voice, "*Now, walk to me and open the door for me!*" She barked her command.

Alexa's eyes went blank again and she continued to walk, she stopped as she reached the door, her hands slowly moved to the center of the carving on the door, a bright light illuminated the dark place, "*that's right, open the door*," The woman commanded.
