Chapter 59

True to his words, he didn't let her sleep a wink until they welcomed the sunrise together, her eyelids grew heavy as they slowly fell down welcoming the darkness. She stirred in her sleep as she felt his hands threading her hair, she then felt his lips against her temple, she groaned, "I'm going to kill you," She muttered. Chuckling low, he pecked on her forehead, "I wanted to stay next to you but I need to go," he whispered. "Great, shoo," She lazily waved her hand as she turned over. "Breakfast is on the table, have it when you wake up," He muttered placing a kiss on her naked back, "hmm," She hummed as she went back to her dreamland.

A few hours later, she rolled in her bed, she didn't want to wake up at all but her stomach demanded her attention, sitting up on the bed, she rubbed her eyes, her eyes squinted at the bright sunlight that now had the full access to the room. When she tried to stand, her legs gave away, "Damn, I'm going to kill him," She groaned, she slowly got up and steadied herself when she noticed the new set of clothes by the side of the bed, grabbing her clothes she went to the bathroom, after taking a quick bath, she entered the kitchen where her breakfast was placed, with small notes, she nodded at the notes and pressed the button for heating her coffee, she then jumped on her breakfast, it was way past lunch though, she munched on her food.

She patted her stomach with satisfaction, she then waddled back to the rooms and slipped under the blanket again.

*The room was engulfed in fire as she was chained against the wall, her head was throbbing and her vision was blurring. A man stood in front of her in a black cloak, he was chanting some spells as he stood facing a huge door, he then turned to face her, her breath hitched at his silver-colored eyes.

*"Alex!" She turned her head to the direction of the sound, the door then flung open as Reagan made his way inside. *

*"NO! Stay away!" She shouted but he was already heading to the silver-eyed man with a dark look on his face. *

*"What a view" A voice spoke inside her head as she slowly started to lose control of her body, "Now it's mine," The voice laughed as her hands broke free of the chains, "bye, bye, Alex, it was nice knowing you," the voice replied as she slowly felt her consciousness fade away. *

She woke up gasping for breath and quickly searched her surrounding, she heaved a sigh of relief, she was still in his room, "oh please, give me a break," She muttered as she hid her face in her palms, "I've had enough," She pushed the sheets away and walked out of the room.

On her way to the pack's meeting house, she stopped by her place noticing few people bringing out the things, "What is going on?" Her brows knitted together forming a thin line on her forehead.

"Hey, Alex," Conner waved at her joining her side, she smiled back at her, "Hey, what's going on here?" She asked her friend, she then turned her head as she heard someone clear their throat behind her, "Congratulations, Alex," Tyler gave her a teasing smile.

"For?" Alexa raised her brows at him.

"Oh come on, no need to pretend so clueless, the entire town knows and we're very happy for you guys." He elbowed her.

"Excuse me?" She frowned, her eyes then landed on the things being taken out of the house, "Hey, those are mine," She complained as she grabbed on to her drawer. "Of course they're yours," Kevin shook his head as he took them off her hands and handed to the man from earlier.

"You're throwing my things out?" She glared at him.

"They're not throwing, you're moving out," he clarified.

"huh?"

"Mating is kinda like getting married so yeah you're moving in with him," Tyler nodded.

"Hey! Why do you know that?" Alexa blushed furiously.

"You reek of him, he smells of you, and breaking news Alex, as I said the entire town knows of it, it's a wolf thing you know," He shrugged.

"I hate wolves," She pouted sulkily, she then shook her head and looked at them with a serious face, "You guys know how to call in for a meeting?" She asked.

"We interrogated Carla but she's not opening her mouth," Tyler clicked his tongue as he shook his head.

"That's cause she doesn't know anything, she was being used, I bet she didn't even know of it," Alexa enlightened them, "She thought she'd use them to get rid of me so that she can get closer to certain someone," her cold gaze stopped at her mate, Reagan shifted uncomfortably in his seat, "but instead she was being used by them to get to me," She added as she addressed everyone.

"She's been targeting me since the day I came here, the nightmares, the eerie voice from the forest, and the time when I thought Carla had poisoned me back then, it wasn't a poison, I was just drugged so that they can awaken me as a Vampire, after all, I started to lust for blood after that," She nodded as if realizing just then.

"She told you that?" Reagan's eyes grew colder.

"Few she mentioned, few I figured out and about the murders, Carla thought she was gaining powers through the killing spree, but the woman was taking her body over so that she could reach me directly, the killing was necessary for her to gain few dark powers so that she could sustain herself inside her, Carla's way too weak for her to accommodate her aura and her powers. Plus she needed to hide the changes when she took over so that we don't notice so..." She shrugged. "Ah wait, she was behind the kidnapping too," Alexa thought deeply, "She used Reagan to weaken me first, and then I mindlessly followed her into her trap, but she didn't sound happy about it, maybe the Fake Alpha King wasn't in her plan, Carla just shoved him in?" She cocked her head to the side, "Maybe," She nodded to herself, "but she got the desired results as I went berserk, to the point I almost hurt my friends too," She suddenly went silent, Argh! She didn't want to remember that again, shaking her head she continued, "anyway, what I know of her is that she is someone from my bloodline, wanted to take over my body and my powers, she's locked behind some mysterious door with all the ancient carvings on them and seems like I'm the only one who can open it, well at least that's what she said," Alexa shrugged as she told them everything.

"And yes, she wants to wipe out your clan from the face of the earth, she talked of some sort of betrayal and revenge and..." She trailed off*,* she wants to kill you the most*, her eyes met with Reagan's, he raised a brow at her, *Shit! Did he hear me?* She immediately shook her head, dismissing her thoughts, and continued, "the silver-eyed man, I don't know about him."

"That woman you talked about is the previous queen, the very first queen who ruled over the Vampires and the werewolves," Adira spoke up.

That's why she was saying we're similar? Alexa cocked her head to the side. "And the revenge she talked about?" She asked. "The werewolves rebelled out first and yes, our ancestors did trick her and killed her," Adira replied.

*Why is she so hell-bent after Reagan then? Is it because he's the Alpha King? Why did she say Reagan would betray me too? Too? Does that mean she was betrayed by her mate? *Questions circled around her head, she wanted to ask Adira but... She heaved a sigh, I'll just ask her when she's alone, she thought to herself.

After the long discussion on what to do next when they were exiting the room she made sure they were the last ones to exit, Reagan was about to step out but she pulled him from behind, "What?" Reagan raised a brow at her. "What? What's with this moving in thing?" She asked him.

"You were okay with it when I asked you this morning," He retorted.

"I was?" She frowned, well she was half asleep, she didn't hear him at all, "You don't want to?" He asked her.

"Well, I don't particularly mind but..."

"but?"

"I won't consider us married at all," She shook her head, "You can't get away with it so easily," She held his collar, "I want a real official wedding," She added.

He laughed out, "What's so funny?" She pouted sulkily.

He pecked her lips, "Sure, we'll get one," he nodded.

"Promise?" She raised her brows.

"Promise," He swore, "After all this is over, we'll have it according to your liking, with your parents right by your side," He placed a kiss on her forehead, "we'll soon start the preparation to rescue them, Adira's leaving tomorrow to recruit other packs to join us, I can't stand them anymore, they got their hands on you, I won't forgive any of them."
