Íomhair was sitting in his tent. In front of him was a huge map, filled with crosses. Every cross was a lost battle. Every cross meant more men who died.
He sighed and stood up. He left his tent and took a walk around the camp. More and more people joined them every day. The camp grew bigger and bigger, and every day it became harder to hide it.
Women, men, and children joined them. Those who had nowhere to go and wanted revenge seeked their help and joined the ghosts. They weren’t afraid to bring their family too. They had nothing to lose.
Every now and then, they managed to take a smaller group of women and children to Etalia or Etealind, but it always came with a risk. Every time they had to pack and move, so they can’t track down the portals. They had to replace a solution. And he just had the right idea.
He searched the camp with his eyes.
“Lovis!” he shouted, and the tall, blond man ran up to him immediately. He was only 27 but was the best warrior among the Ghosts. After, Íomhair himself, of course.
“Yes?” he asked straightening his back.
“I have a plan. Look for Sirideán and join me in my tent.” Lovis silently nodded and left.
“You always have a plan.” he heard the smiling voice of his wife behind him. He turned and gave a smile to her. Máirín came to their camp after the first attacks. She immediately saw something in him. Ryuu knows how and why, but they ended up getting married. And now, now they were having their first child.
“Yes, I always do.” he said “It’s risky.”
“It always is.” said Máirín with a serious expression “But it doesn’t mean it’s not good.
“I hope the elves and fairies share your opinion.” he smiled “I’ll leave tomorrow, have to talk to the Alliance.” He looked down at his wife. She just nodded silently “I’ll be back soon.”
“I know.”
“Íomhair.” came Lovis’ voice behind him “Sirideán disappeared.”
“What do you mean disappeared?” he asked turning around and walking up to the boy.
“Noone has seen him today. And no one knows where he is. He’s not in the camp that’s for sure.”
“Pack.” said Íomhair immediately “Pack! We’re leaving.” his instincts never failed him. And now he had the feeling that Sirideán betrayed them.
“I assure you, brother, the sun will shine on us again.”
