Salute To The General -
Chapter 1576
Chapter 1576
Diego Waters, Travis Herrington, and their adherents started presenting their gifts one by one.
Meanwhile, Nathan was wholesomely instructing his family members to receive them.
As Nathan was gazing across the crowd at Diego and the others, there was an obviousrestlessness shown on the expression of those who just arrived.
Looks like Diego and the rest are very perturbed!
Diego and Travis knew that their sons were in cahoots with Phoebe, and standing on Phoebe's sidemeant being against Nathan.
As soon as they received Nathan's call, their faces went as white as a sheet, and they rushed overto Channing as soon as possible to make it up to Nathan.
Nathan had just gone north and beaten the King of the North, Lucifer Leeroy, as well as recentlytaking down Christopher Beckett at Mayberry in the East.
Everyone knew that whoever crossed Nathan would be met with no good end.
Once Diego, Travis, and the others found out what their sons had done, they shuddered at thethought of incurring Nathan's wrath. Hence, they immediately gathered everyone to come over asan apology to him.
“Mr. Waters and Mr. Herrington. Thank you both for going so far out of your way to come to mywife's birthday banquet on such short notice!” Nathan said with glee.
“Please, make your way inside and make yourselves at home. I'll join all of you for a couple ofdrinks,” Nathan continued.
Before arriving at the venue, Diego, Travis, and the others were afraid that Nathan would take outhis anger on them due to their sons' folly.
However, Nathan's smile reassured them that he wasn't going to seek retribution against all thosewho came over from Brimmopolis. At least for the time being.
“After you, General,” everyone replied to Nathan's invitation.
As they had settled into the venue, Nathan and Penny started making merry with Diego, Travis, andthe other guests. Not long after, the upper class of Channing that were invited slowly made theirway into the venue as well.
The people who had originally gone to the Excalibur's party had slowly started showing up toPenny's birthday banquet.
“Ms. Smith, sorry for being late! Happy birthday!” said one latecomer.
“President Smith, there was some congestion on the roads earlier that caused me to be late. I'll takethree shots just to make it up to you and to wish you a happy birthday,” said another.
“Hello, Mrs. Cross, I was out getting the gift I prepared for you, that's why I was late. I hope you canforgive me,” mentioned yet another.
All of the latecomers were replaceing excuses to pardon their tardiness and were trying their best toapologize to Penny.
Obviously, Penny knew that all the people that had just arrived actually went to the party hosted bythe Excalibur. They only came over here because they had found out that Nathan had invited thefathers of the Excalibur members.
However, Penny decided to hold her tongue and let it go unspoken.
“Thank you, everyone!” Penny said with a cheerful smile.
Suddenly, there came yet another group of people. It was the Excalibur themselves.
Except for Phoebe, Donnie Waters, Marshall Herrington, and the rest of the members had arrived.
Everyone came because they didn't have a choice.
After all, all their fathers were here, so it wouldn't
be appropriate if they did not come.
As soon as Diego laid eyes on his son, Donnie, his expression turned dark immediately. “Youinsolent fool, get over here and greet the General,” Diego yelled.
“Marshall, hurry up and wish Mrs. Cross a happy birthday!” Travis said to his son sternly.
Following that, the other officials all instructed their sons to greet Nathan and wish Penny a happybirthday.
Donnie, Marshall, and the others from the Excalibur couldn't disobey their fathers, so they went anddid as told.
“General, please excuse my son's insolence. If there's anything he had done to offend you, I hopeyou can forgive him,” Diego hurriedly seized the opportunity to say.
Travis and the others apologized in turn as well.
Nathan glanced at Donnie and the other youngsters. Each of them had slumped their shoulders, their haughtiness from before having all but vanished.
“Ah, how sad it is to have parents clean up after their children. Make sure there's no more next time, alright, kids?” Nathan remarked casually.
Hearing that, Donnie and the bunch of bureaucrats all flushed red from both anger andembarrassment.
Yet as the rest looked on at Nathan's expression, there was only admiration and awe.
Truly, only the General is that worthy Even princes and princesses are naught but brats before him!
