Salute To The General -
Chapter 1649
Chapter 1649
In a dilapidated house situated in a village of Brimmopolis, the Dark Lord and several of hissubordinates were in the middle of an intense discussion with a local man with a moustache on hisface.
The man was Godric Orion. He was sent there by Boris to convey his message to the Dark Lord.
Godric took a sip of the cup of coffee and frowned at the taste - he was not accustomed to the typeof coffee the foreigners preferred.
After putting down the cup of coffee, Godric stared at the Dark Lord and said, “Captain Dark Lord, you guys have let Mr. Tucker down. I'm sorry to say that your performance is really disappointingand far from professional. After making such a huge stir, you guys didn't even manage to kill any ofNathan's men.”
A trace of fury flickered in the Dark Lord's eyes. In a somewhat stilted manner, he spoke in the locallanguage, “Tell your boss that I'm sorry for being careless this time. Next time, I'll finish Nathan offmyself.”
Godric shook his head and said curtly, “There won't be a next time. Now that the matter hasescalated into a big deal, and Nathan is still alive, there are various parties who are going to carryout investigations on it. So, Mr. Tucker is of the opinion that you should leave the country as soonas you can.
In a frosty voice, the Dark Lord remarked, “It seems to me that your boss is afraid of gettingimplicated by the mess because of me.”
“Leaving the country is the best option for you and your men. It's a win-win situation for bothparties,” Godric responded.
The Dark Lord replied icily, “Tell your boss that we will leave when the right time comes - when Isuccessfully slaughter Nathan myself to avenge the death of my younger brother as well as mybuddies.”
“Mr. Tucker wanted you guys to leave the country immediately!” Godric snapped.
“I'm afraid I can't do that,” the Dark Lord countered.
Horrified and frustrated, Godric warned, “Captain Dark Lord, I don't think you should try triggeringthe wrath of Mr. Tucker. Mind you, wiping you guys out is a cinch for someone as powerful as him.”
Looking unfazed by his threat, the Dark Lord retorted in a collected voice, “Oh? Why don't he justsilence us by killing us directly? He'll be spared a lot of trouble if he does that though.”
Godric banged a fist on the table and leapt to his feet. Pointing an accusatory finger at the DarkLord, he seethed, “You—”
The subordinates standing next to the Dark Lord were glowering at Godric. In response to thecommotion, the rest of the mercenaries barged into the house all at once and fixed their balefulglances at Godric and his assistant.
Seeing that, the Dark Lord barked at them furiously, “Who ordered you guys to come inside? Backoff!”
The troop of mercenaries quickly retreated from the house in response.
Meanwhile, the Dark Lord flashed a faint smile at Godric and said, “Please don't get uptightbecause I'm not trying to set myself against Mr. Tucker either. After all, Mr. Tucker and I share thesame enemy. I came all the way here from my country to avenge the death of my younger brotheras well as some of my subordinates. How can I leave when my enemy is still alive and kicking?”
Godric commented coldly, “Look, things have started playing out in a way that you simply don't havemany choices. The police, the army, the Secret Service as well as Nathan's men were trying to getto the bottom of this matter. The entire city is filled with their people trying to track you down. Onceyou guys are nabbed by them, Mr. Tucker will surely get implicated. Can you see how your action isgoing to affect Mr. Tucker adversely?”
Just then, the Dark Lord stuck out a finger at him and said, “One day. Go back and tell Mr. Tuckerthat I just need one more day to kill Nathan. After doing that, he may arrange for us to leave thecountry.”
After a moment of silence, Godric replied, “I'll pass your message to Mr. Tucker, but I can't be surewhether he will approve it or not.”
Right after saying that, Godric and his assistant left the decrepit building in large strides.
A black sedan immediately pulled up in front of them.
While Godric was sliding into the back seat of the sedan, he instructed his assistant, “Caspian, themercenaries are a bunch of rebellious guy. Sooner or later, they are going to cause trouble to Mr.Tucker.”
Wearing an impassive expression, Caspian asked, “Mr. Orion, what do I have to do?”
“I want you to keep an eye on the Dark Lord and his men. Regardless of whether they successfullykill Nathan or not, kill them as soon as the twenty-four hour time limit is up.” “Understood,” Caspianacknowledged.
