Corey gritted his teeth, "How much does your master pay you? If you let me go, I will pay you a hundred years' worth of salary. You will immediately have more money than you can make by retirement. It's enough for you to relax and enjoy yourself in any corner of the world. So, how about it?"

Corey looked at Apocalypse anxiously who then burst into laughter.

When Corey saw that Apocalypse was laughing, he assumed he was tempted by the offer. Hence, he laughed together with him.

But, the moment he broke into a smile, Apocalypse raised his Uzi and pumped a couple of bullets into his chest.

Corey's body trembled violently as his chest was

blown to mush.

Lowering his head, he saw the gruesome remains of the bullet holes and looked back up at Apocalypse, "You..."

Before he could finish, he went limp and collapsed to the ground, dead.

Smirking, Apocalypse waved to his subordinates who handed him his phone.

Apocalypse took a few pictures of the scene before him and a few more of Corey's corpse, including close-ups of his face.

At that moment, a voice rang out from his walkie-talkie.

"Sir, a group of armed men is heading in our direction. They look like the General of the North's National Guards. The leader among them is Colin Dunne."

Holding up their guns, the rest of the Demon Troopers looked toward Apocalypse.

Should we kill the approaching men?

After giving it some thought, Apocalypse sneered, "Although we have been looking forward to testing our strength against the North Army's elite, I'm afraid it won't happen today. We cannot expose ourselves and get our master in trouble. Pull back for now. We will have our fun next time."

The moment Apocalypse gave the order, the demon troopers retreated.

With fluid movements, the men got back into their SUVS and Jeeps.

Apocalypse jumped onto a military truck and sat beside the driver. He barked into the walkie-talkie on his shoulders, "Let's get out of here." Within ten minutes of the Demon Troopers leaving, a couple of jeeps screeched to a stop.

Colin and the Elite Eight alighted one after another.

They searched the wreckage and finally reported to Colin, "Sir, there are no enemies left and neither are there any survivors."

Colin frowned, "Step down from combat status but stay frosty."

One of the Elite Eight came over. "Sir, you need to see this.”

Colin hurried over with the rest of the Elite Eight and saw Corey's corpse.

He furrowed his eyebrows slightly. "It seems someone has beaten us to him and killed him in cold blood."

One of Elite Eight couldn't help but ask, "Sir, can it be the Davier family's men?"

Colin replied, "Without any concrete evidence, we can't make baseless accusations as it might create unnecessary trouble."

The Elite Eight nodded but everyone knew that this was likely connected to Clifford as he wasn't someone to be trifled with. Given Clifford's character, there was no way he was going to let Corey go for hiring someone to brutally assassinate Ceaser. "What do we do now?"

The Elite Eight looked to Colin.

Colin replied, “Let's report it to the General and let him decide."

At that moment, Nathan, Garrett, Zach, Lucas, Will, and others were having a drink at the Capital Garrison's headquarters in Brimmopolis.

Just as he spoke, he looked at Garrett and the others with a wry smile, "Colin was a step too late. By the time he found Corey, Corey had been killed together with all his bodyguards. All their bodies were ridated with bullet holes."

Lucas exclaimed, "It appears Clifford isn't someone to be trifled with."
