Salute To The General -
Chapter 1909
Chapter 1909
That night, Nathan didn't sleep a wink. He stayed up strategizing, studying battle plans with Fang, Destroyer, and Heptakill.
The next day.
The other North Army troops had arrived at the headquarters. One by one, they gathered.
The Nothern Army headquarters became extremely lively. Armored combat vehicles and various weaponry were constantly being transported there. Fighter jets roared in the sky above.
Nathan had given orders for all three hundred thousand of the Nothern Army's soldiers to be assembled in one day.
The Three Tigers, Seven Champions, and the other generals hustled and bustled away, preparing for war.
Nathan stood in the square of the North Amry's headquarters. He wore a phoenix military coat and his face was still concealed under a Leviathan mask. Behind him were Colin and the Elite Eight, inspecting as the troops gathered.
At the corner of the square.
Myron from the North's Seven Champions had assembled Division 113's troops that he was in charge of, along with his independently established unit: the Panthera Battalion.
He was giving an admonitory talk to them.
Regular generals were not only in charge of managing troops, but they were also assigned independent units, such as artillery or engineer battalions. Myron's battalion unit was special; it was the North Army's famed Panthera Battalion.
The Panthera Battalion was comprised of strong men with extensive battle experience. Not only were they well-trained, but they were also fearless and wouldn't blink twice when killing on the battlefield.
Among the North Army's many military units, the Panthera Battalion was one of the strongest. Its combat power was classed as a level under both the Eighteen Riders and Nathan's own Felidae battalion.
Establishing this battalion was something that Myron has always been proud of.
The soldiers' strengths and equipment within the Panthera Battalion were far superior to those of ordinary troops. That made the Panthera Battalion's soldiers very arrogant and unruly.
A moment passed, when Myron, the Panthera Battalion, and Division 113, all noticed the arrival of the Chief Military Governor.
The Panthera Battalion soldiers originally stood well-composed in a uniform line. But this orderly manner faded before the Chief Military Governor, the men intentionally held themselves with a devil-may-care attitude.
The Panthera Battalion soldiers stood slovenly, deliberately misbehaving.
Some even daringly glared at Nathan, expressing their discontentment for him with their unfriendly gazes.
It couldn't be helped.
After all, they used to operate under General Nathan's command. To them, the General was Eurasia's God of War, his existence was worth far more than a mere Chief Military Governor.
All the North Army soldiers were loyal to the General.
Now General had been dismissed and replaced with a random man as their commander-in-chief; how could anyone expect them to be pleased?
While Myron had definitely noticed his men's offensive ways, he pretended to be oblivious. He said nothing and flashed a sly smile instead. Nathan's eye scanned through Myron, then over to the sloppy Panthera Battalion, and finally, his vision settled on Division 113.
His lips stretched into a slight smile
as he said, "Division 113 that you are in charge of is quite satisfactory, General Myron. But your Panthera Battalion is... interesting."
Myron grinned. "Chief Military Governor, my men in the Panthera Battalion are only good at fighting. Other things... well, not so much.
"When it comes to marching in line, they're might not compare with ordinary troops.
"But when it comes to winning wars and eliminating enemies, my men can take on armies twice their size."
Nathan smiled back politely. "Simply knowing to fight isn't good enough. Remember, good soldiers follow orders."
Myron's eye twitched in annoyance but his smile never faltered. “Don't worry sir. The Panthera Battalion, Division 113, and I will obey any orders given to us."
Nathan nodded. His voice was laced with amusement, "That's good to hear."
"I'll leave you to it then," Nathan said, turning to leave with Colin and the Elite Eight.
Myron's men were stunned at the newly appointed Commander; he had gone out of his way to demonstrate how unbothered he was by their antics.
We deliberately put on a disrespectful appearance in front of the governor. Why didn't he get upset, or call us out to reprimand us?
They had hoped to rile up the Chief Military Governor so that they could face-off against him. They hoped to win with their superior strength and embarrass the governor in the public space.
Yet the Chief Military Governor had let them off so easily.
Could it be as the rumors say? Was the man a wimp for confrontation?
Suddenly, Myron called out, "Not so fast,
Governor!"
