Salute To The General
Chapter 1954

Chapter 1954

Morgoth was shocked.

Sherman frowned and looked up.

The crowd craned their necks, searching for the source of the voice.

A handsome couple emerged, followed by another smaller crowd.

The speaker who had threatened Morgoth was a handsome man who stood tall and upright.

"Mr. Goldstein, that's the former General of the North," Aron whispered to Sherman. "The God of War himself, Nathan Cross!"

"The beauty next to him is his wife, Penny

Smith."

Sherman stared at Penny, astonishment all over his face. She was even more beautiful in person compared to the photograph. His gaze fell once again onto Nathan. He was surprised to see that the General of the North was younger than he expected. The surprise only lingered momentarily; it morphed into hatred a second later.

Sherman caught Morgoth's eye and nodded.

Morgoth complied. He raised his right foot high, with the intention of humiliating Nathan by smashing Thomas's skull in front of him. Nathan's gaze steeled coldly.

He jumped forward with such power and agility that for a moment he disappeared into a blur.

The next instant, he reappeared in front of Morgoth, who was caught by surprise.

He is fast!

Morgoth's eyes widened in fear. He switched targets. Instead of Thomas's head, he swung his foot at Nathan.

Nathan grunted and met Morgoth's kick with his own. However, he was much faster.

Clap!

Nathan caught Morgoth squarely in the knee.

Crack!

For the second time, the bystanders were graced by another set of bones snapping. Morgoth's knee shattered with the force of Nathan's kick. "Ahh!" Morgoth howled in pain.

What?

Sherman froze. Even his three other Mighty Warlords suddenly looked extremely uncomfortable, vastly different from their earlier mood. However, Nathan wasn't done. Still propelled by a bloodthirsty rage, he grabbed hold of Morgoth's throat and squeezed tightly. The screams of pain were cut off abruptly.

Nathan lifted Morgoth without effort, who was still struggling in retaliation.

Nathan looked at Sherman. Without breaking eye contact, he tightened his grip on Morgoth's throat and wrenched violently, snapping his neck with an even louder crack than before.

Morgoth twitched and fell limp.

Thud!

Nathan slackened his grip and Morgoth's lifeless body fell like a heavy sack to the floor at Sherman's feet.

Sherman had an ugly look upon his face.

Pathol and the rest were looking somber. Nathan was stronger and more powerful that they have given him credit for.

"You're not badly hurt, are you?" asked Nathan quietly, pulling Thomas to his feet.

“I'm fine, General." He touched his broken arm and winced. "They're pretty strong, you be careful."

"Grandpa!"

Penny flew to her family's side. She

she asked concernedly.

Her uncles got to their feet as well.

"Penny, Nathan, in all my years in Channing, I have never felt

humiliation like this before. Today

you have helped me regain some et

dignity, or else I wouldn't know how to conduct myself after my reputation has been treated as

such." Sean sighed, his face red with anger and embarrassment.

"Don't worry, Grandpa. I'll break this fool's legs, and make him kneel in front of your door for three days. I hope that pleases you."

Sherman shuddered when he heard that.
