Chapter 1998

Brimmotopia.

Crystal Hotel.

When Nathan walked into the lobby, he saw Penny, Kylie, and Queenie standing there and chatting with a guy.

The guy had an average figure and was wearing a handmade tuxedo.

A number of bodyguards followed closely behind.

The guy's clothing and aura were incredible, and from his back, he seemed like a rich and noble guy-

However, that was not the case when seen from the front.

He had an average appearance and an ugly mole on his chin that was growing hair. All that made him seem especially wretched.

He was talking nonstop with Penny and Kylie.

Unfortunately, the two ladies seemed impatient and looked like they were eager to leave.

"Girls, there's a bar nearby called Heaven on Earth, and it has an amazing ambiance. It's still early in the day, so how about I treat you both to a drink?"

Penny and Kylie were about to reject the guy's invitation when Nathan approached them and asked calmly, "Honey, Kylie. Who's this?"

The ugly guy was working hard to invite the two beautiful ladies to the bar at the time. He was eagerly waiting for their response, but someone interrupted their conversation before either

could speak. That got the ugly man upset.

He glared unhappily at Nathan and demanded in a hostile tone, "Who are you?"

Penny quickly introduced, "This is my husband, Nathan Cross. Nathan, this is the famous local entrepreneur of Brimmopolis, Mr. Dennis Turner. A thief stole our wallets earlier, and after learning about it, Mr. Turner tapped into hiswork and retrieved our wallets within ten minutes. We were just thanking him for his help."

Nathan stared amusingly at Dennis and teased, "Looks like Mr. Turner is truly a nice guy who takes pride in helping others. You have such unusual power here in Brimmopolis. My wife and her cousin lost their wallets, and you managed to retrieve their things in ten minutes. I mean, wow, you work faster than the police and are like a modern-day Robin Hood."

Robin Hood!

There were two ways to interpret that word. Nathan was either calling Dennis a hero or a thief.

Dennis didn't think that Nathan meant it as a compliment when he said that word. The guy is obviously dissing me!

Dennis glared over and demanded, "What are you saying, punk? What do you mean when you say that I work faster than the police? Are you accusing me of being in league with the thieves?"

Nathan grinned and replied, "Those are your words, Mr. Turner, not mine."

Dennis was infuriated when he growled, "You!"

Penny and Kylie both turned suspicious at that

moment.

They were worried when their

wallets were stolen. While they didn't care about the cash, they did care about their cards and IDs. Lodging a report and dealing with the

aftermath of everything was yel

troublesome.

The two of them were going frantic and were about to call the police when Dennis happened to pass by and ask them what troubled them.

Upon hearing about their wallets

being stolen, Dennis claimed that he

was a powerful figure in

Brimmopolis and that both the authorities and the gangsters

respected him. He later made

a call

and true to his words, he retrieved the wallets in under ten minutes.

However, when Penny and Kylie asked about whether the thief was apprehended, Dennis mumbled some nonsense and avoided their gazes. He even claimed that they shouldn't press any charges or do anything since their wallets had already been retrieved.

At first, Penny and Kylie didn't suspect anything, but they couldn't help making a wild and terrifying guess after hearing the conversation between Nathan and Dennis.

Dennis didn't send his men to steal our wallets, then pretend to be the good guy by helping us retrieve our wallets, did he? Is this all a scam to get on our good side?

The truth was that Nathan, Penny, and Kylie all guessed right.

Dennis planned the whole thing. First, he sent his men to steal the girls' wallets then pretended to be a good Samaritan. He helped retrieve their wallets to earn their trust and appreciation.

Then, he planned to invite them out for a drink and continue using his tricks on them.

He didn't expect Nathan to show up out of nowhere while his trick was in play.
