Salute To The General -
Chapter 2107
Chapter 2107
"I am Fang, Commander-In-Chief of the North Army. Bring my corpse back to the North Army if you can kill me."
"I am Destroyer, the Deputy Commander of the North Army. You can also send my corpse back to the North if you can kill me."
“I am Heptakill, also the Deputy Commander of the North Army. If you can kill me... oh wait. Wait till you can kill me before we speak.”
Langston's face turned paler when he heard the three names. It paralyzed him to the spot, and his soul felt wafer-thin.
The blow was not over yet.
"I am Commander-In-Chief Of the East, Elijah Lowe!"
"Commander-In-Chief of the South, Zach Hill is me.
"Commander-In-Chief of the West, Lucas Ziegler."
Langston's eyes widened to the size of saucers. He almost fell to his knees and begged.
What on earth is happening? Why are all the military big shots gathered in this small room? Didn't they say that Nathan has got the sack? Even the President and Chief Military Governor were no longer backing him up. He had no one! Why would all these big names even appear here to celebrate a mere commoner's birthday?
Langston bitterly regretted everything and wished death could claim him at that instance.
If he knew there were so many terrifying military leaders at the banquet, he would not have the
guts to enter, let alone replace fault with Nathan.
A feeling of dread crept up his stomach as he stuttered, "G-Good... Good e-evening, S-Sirs..."
Nathan mocked at his change of tone. "Aren't you here to kill me? You promised to kill them too! I recall you asking for their names so you can return their corpses back to their families. Now that they're done, you may kill us."
Except for the Chief Military Governor, the nation's
highest-ranking military officials are all gathered here.Kill them? I must be crazy! Any of their subordinates easily have hundreds of thousands of troops under them.
Langston dared not be presumptuous or disrespectful to any of the commanders that were present.
His arrogance had disappeared, and
he squeezed out the remaining words from his throat. "No, no. Sirs, it was all a joke; everything is just a misunderstanding. I will make a move first. Please enjoy..."
With that, he signaled his equally horrified lackeys to leave the room.
"Stay put," Nathan ordered. "You came in with such high arrogance, declaring to kill all of us. And now, this is just a joke? Tsk, tsk. It may be a joke, but we have taken it seriously."
Thump!
Langston got on his knees and pleaded, "Sirs, I have learned my lesson. I was wrong. Please consider the fact that I am Mr. Davier's student and spare me. Let me go. P-Please."
His companions knelt one after another and begged for mercy, too.
"We are wrong. Please forgive us for Mr. Davier's sake. We beg you to have mercy on us."
The commanders' anger boiled at the mention of Clifford. They had learned of the recent bad blood between Nathan and the man.
It already displeased them when Clifford exerted his authority and removed Nathan from his Commander-In-Chief position.
However, when their relationship deteriorated, it fueled the other commanders' hostility for Clifford further.
Fang replied icily, "Clifford does not have any influence here. He would not have any nice treatment if he came personally, let alone his dogs."
Langston's face darkened with worry, and he sank into despair. He regretted taking the lead in settling scores with Nathan.
He thought he could easily bully Nathan after his dismissal and used this chance to shine in front of his mentor.
Never did he expect to dig a grave for himself!
