Chapter 2120

Penny snorted before picking up the contract to go through it.

It stated that Penny agreed to transfer all her shares in Cross Group to the Davier family as financial compensation for the harm Nathan did to them. However, it didn't state that the Davier family would not hold Nathan accountable for his actions.

Penny wasn't a fool as she was cognizant that this was a trap set by the Davier family. They had never planned to let Nathan go. What they were doing was simply taking over Cross Group by leveraging on her desperation to save Nathan.

Consequently, Penny's thoughts were no longer on the contract.

Despite her calm facade, she was on the brink of being driven mad with anxiety. She wondered, Hubby, why aren't you here yet?

As time ticked by, half an hour was up before she knew it.

Knock! Knock!

Tapping his fingers on the table, Valois' expression darkened as he reminded Penny, "Mrs. Cross, time's up. If there are no problems, can you sign the contract now?"

Penny shook her head, "We agreed that after I transfer the shares to the Davier family, they will let my husband go. But the contract only deals with the share transfer and is silent about my husband's freedom. Mr. Valois, I'm afraid this contract is unacceptable."

Valois asserted, "Although it is not written, I promise that I will spare your husband. Don't worry, I'm a man of my word so sign it!"

Standing up, Penny thrust her chin forward and declared, "I'm sorry, if the contract doesn't state this in writing, I will not sign it. Ava, let's go!" Just as Penny spoke, she motioned for Ava to leave.

Valois laughed insidiously. "Haha, Mrs. Cross, I feel that you have been messing with me all this while. However, who do you think you are? Do you think you can come and leave as you pleased? If you don't give up the shares today, don't expect to step out that door."

After he spoke, Valois gave his subordinates a look and ordered, "Seize them."

"Yes, Mr. Davier."

The men who just a moment ago were watching them intently sprung to action.

The fastest among them was Diablo. The exact moment when Valois gave the order, his figure disappeared into a flash as he sped toward Ava like lightning, thrusting the dagger in his hand toward Ava's chest.

As Ava's weapon was confiscated

earlier by Valois' men, she could only defend herself barefisted. However,

she didn't feel any fear at all.

Before Diablo's dagger could get close, Ava had already launched a kick that landed right on Diablo's chest with a bang.

He was sent flying backward by seven to eight meters before he could steady himself.

Rubbing his chest in pain, Diablo

sniggered, "Tsk tsk, you really are a formidable opponent with terrifying speed. Unfortunately, you're still weak because you're a girl"

Just as he spoke, he charged at Ava at lightning speed.

Forced to meet his attacks, both of them battled fiercely against each other.

As for the rest of Valois' men, none of them could get close enough to Ava. Hence, they decided to attack Penny instead.

Valois sneered, "Haha, capture her

and strip her naked. For what

Nathan has done to the Davier family, I will have a taste of his wife in return. Consider it as collecting interest."

When Penny saw a large group of fearsome men surround her, she began to turn pale in fear.

As Ava was being tied down by Diablo, she couldn't come to Penny's rescue in time.

Closing her eyes in despair, Penny was ready to accept her fate.

It was at that moment that a helicopter suddenly appeared outside the window.

A figure could be seen leaping out of the helicopter and jumping toward the reinforced glass window, launching a punch at the same time.

Crash!

The reinforced glass was supposed to be close to unbreakable. But, as if it was hit by a cannonball, it shattered into innumerable pieces.

As everyone gaped in awe, the figure that jumped through the broken glass landed right in front of them. He looked as if he was an angel that fell from the sky.

When Penny saw the man who appeared, she couldn't help but exclaim in joy, "Hubby!"

Evidently, it was Nathan that came for her.
