Salute To The General
Chapter 2124

Chapter 2124

Penny stared at Nathan in shock.

"Hubby, are you sure you can resolve this crisis? You must realize that you are facing the Davier family. It's Clifford that we are talking about here."

Nathan sidestepped her question. Instead, he threw the question back at her with a smile, “Honey, do you trust me?"

Shaken by his reply, Penny locked her gaze with his before nodding with conviction. "Of course. The person I care and trust the most in this world is you."

Nathan was touched by her words.

Holding up Penny's hand, he murmured, "Don't worry, Honey. I'll be fine. The Davier family will be

the ones to suffer in the end."

Despite having her fears allayed, she couldn't help but ask, "Hubby, are you sure you can defeat the Davier family? Please don't lie to me. Everyone else has been saying that you are on your own this time and that you will... not be able to escape..."

Nathan replied with a smile, "Don't worry, my circumstances are not as dire as they think. Besides, I'm also not as weak they as make me out to be. Do not forget where we are living right now. What do you think this place is?"

Penny's eye lit up.

That's true. As a national hero, Nathan must have many others on his side. After all, he is Eurasia's God of War. He would definitely have innumerable comrades in the army that support him. Just like his recent birthday where the

commanders of different regions entered the city discreetly to help him celebrate in a low-key event. Furthermore, we are currently staying in the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor. Is Nathan trying to tell me that the Chief Military Governor is on our side?

The thought alone caused Penny to get all excited.

With the Chief Military Governor's protection and the support of the various commanders, there was no need for Nathan to fear the Davier family at all.

Before they knew it, it was the day of the showdown between Nathan and the Davier family. It was also the day Valois would be buried.

In the morning, Nathan wanted to settle his family down before heading to Tarragon

Mountain for the showdown.

However, Penny refused to stay back regardless of what Nathan told her.

She got Kylie to watch over her daughter and insisted on traveling with Nathan to Tarragon Mountain.

Her thoughts were simple. Nathan was faced with an insurmountable enemy.

If he was able to overcome his enemy, she would do it together with him.

If he failed to do so, she planned to die together with him.

There was no way she could hide at home and wait for the results of Nathan's battle, especially if it was bad news.

Therefore, she steeled her resolve and insisted on going with Nathan, who had no choice but to agree.

After settling Kylie and Queenie

down, Nathan, together with Penny,

led Colin and the Elite Eight out in

three SUVs. They headed to Tarragon Mountain which was

located on the outskirts of the city.

After leaving the city and driving for about thirty miles, they finally arrived at their destination.

Tarragon Mountain had an imposing

presence and was surrounded by beautiful scenery. Unfortunately, it

was@sed as one of the few burial grounds in Brimmopolis.

Obviously, it would cost a fortune to bury anyone here, which made it unaffordable for the common folk.

At the foot of Tarragon Mountain was a huge plain that was still wild.

There, a lone pavilion erected.

Nathan and his entourage got out of the car and entered the pavilion.

Meanwhile, Colin and the Elite Eight unpacked a clay stove and began to boil some coffee.

Taking a seat, Nathan and Penny waited for the Davier family's arrival.

Scanning her surroundings, Penny asked curiously, "Hubby, didn't you mention that there will be reinforcements? Why do I only see a handful of us? Where are the rest?"

Nathan smiled mysteriously. "Don't worry, they will appear when the time is right."

Noon.

The funeral procession for Valois officially begun.

With a total of twenty to thirty thousand men, the convoy set off with great fanfare. Furthermore, all of them were dressed in mourning garb with a sword hanging by their hips. For those who were unaware, they looked as if they were a grand army heading to battle.
