Penny retracted a few steps back and said awkwardly, "I'm sorry, I think that you guys have gotten the wrong person.

"I am Penny Smith, not Ms. Camden that you guys address me as. You're looking at the wrong girl."

To Penny's surprise, the butler's answer was not at all as she expected.

Damien grinned. "Ms. Camden, we are not mistaken. You're the long-lost child of the Camden family, the daughter of Sir Camden and Madam. "You're not a Smith. You're a Camden."

After he was done talking, he turned around and cast Benson and Leah an enigmatic look. "Mr.

Smith, Mrs. Smith, the two of you should know better. I think it is time to let Ms. Camden know the truth!"

Right then, all eyes were on Benson and Leah.

A sense of premonition loomed over Penny as her voice turned shaky. "Mom, Dad, what's happening?"

Leah covered her face and broke into a sob, "Why do you people only come looking for her when she's all grown up, and after we're so emotionally invested in her?

"She's my daughter... My daughter..."

Leah broke down in tears at the admission.

Benson, on the other hand, had an ashen look on his face. He said nothing as he fished out a cigarette with shaky hands. He tried to light his cigarette multiple times but to no avail as he was trembling.

In the end, he hurled the cigarette to the ground and stomped on it forcefully.

Penny clutched her parents' hands and shuddered as she asked, "Mom, Dad, what's going on?"

Damien snickered. "Since Mr. Smith and Mrs.

Smith are not willing to divulge further, let me do the explaining to you then, Ms. Camden.

"You should be a Camden, miss. However, due to some reasons back then, the Camden family had lost you.

“Benson and Leah were infertile, and they picked you up when you were still a baby and raised you as one of their own.

"I think that old Mr. Smith is well aware of this too, no?"

Damien cast a look at Sean after he was done talking.

Sean grimaced. His second son, Benson was infertile, and Penny was indeed his adopted daughter. He was well aware of it all, as did some of the older members of the Smiths. However, the man did not wish for others to know that his son was an infertile man, and ordered for everyone to keep mum about it.

However, he did not expect that after Penny had become the chairman of a multi-billion company, making the Smiths proud that her biological parents finally decided that it was time to take theiro daughter back.

Still reeling in the shock, Penny said with a shaky voice, "Grandpa, please tell me that all of these

are not true!"

Sean gritted his teeth, disclosing nothing.

"Please say something, Grandpa." Penny was almost begging the man.

Benson finally talked, "Penny, everything the man said was true. We picked you up from a pile of trash when you were just a baby.

"You were just a few days old back then, weighing only over three pounds. Sweetie, you were even smaller than a kitten.

"Your Grandpa advised us against raising you, saying that there has to be a reason that you're so small, that you must have been sick or something.

But your mum and I could not bring

ourselves to just leave you right where we found you. We thought thatyou wouldn't last over a day under those circumstances.

"Hence, we decided to adopt you. You were in an incubator in the hospital for two months, and the hospital bill was costly.

"Your hospitalization bill essentially burned out all our savings as we were only depending on allowances from our families.

"Luckily enough, you pulled through and grew up to be more and more gorgeous as the days went by. We really treated you like one of our own. Penny was reduced to tears by then.
