A few Jetroinian soldiers quickly went over to help Nakajima to his feet, but the fuming marquis pushed them aside and shouted, "What are y'all doing? Kill him!"

Since Jetroina was the host of the event, most of the soldiers on duty were locals.

When they heard Nakajima, all of them marched forward, ready to launch an attack.

"I thought we're here for a meeting. I wasn't expecting things to get physical," Nathan remarked, "But since you're fixated on starting a fight, I'll do as you wish."

Behind him, Colin and the Elite Eight were already ready for full-scale combat in the meeting room.

Simone, who had been watching silently throughout, was not expecting a fight this soon.

Before he could intervene, Duchess Catherine beat him to it. "Stop it, everyone!"

As one of the most influential figures present, no one dared to take her lightly. The Jetroinian soldiers halted at her command as the country leaders tilted their heads towards her in surprise.

What is she trying to do?

Her tall and lean figure caught everyone's attention as she stood up.

She rested her hands behind her back and looked at everyone calmly. "Are we here to start a war? I thought we're here to promote peace?" Everyone fell into a silence.

They knew well that Ariarica had incited many countries to gather at Jetroina to disconcert Eurasia.

Many of the smaller nations had taken up the invitation just to butt in and enjoy the show.

But although they were here to watch how Eurasia would be shamed at an international event like this, none of them dared to stand up against Eurasia if a war were to break out.

Even Simone did not have the guts to open fire at Eurasia.

Catherine's question shut them all up as they looked at one another awkwardly.

Without waiting for a reply,

Catherine turned toward Simone.

"Commander Simone, I'm

commissioned to represent my country for a military exercise, not a war. If the intention of this event today is to wage war against Eurasia and destroy the God of War and his military troops, then I will have to excuse myself. This is not the order I received from my country."

Her speech stirred unrest among the audience.

Everyone started getting nervous when they heard Eagleland wanted to back out.

Many countries were here just because Ariarica had strongly encouraged them to. They thought by attending this event, they would end up flattering Ariarica and even get some benefits for themselves.

But if they were to go into a fully-fledged war against Eurasia, none of them would be stupid enough to sign up for it.

After Catherine made her stance

clear, many countries also voiced a similar opinion, stating that they were not here for direct military confrontation, but rather, they were just here to contribute to better

military cooperation among nations.

Simone was disoriented all of a sudden.

Now that everyone went back on their commitment, it was impossible to go against Nathan with just Jetroina, Ferropene, and Ariarica.

If they lost to Nathan, this would be the end of their alliance to topple the country.
