Back at the White House in Brimmopolis, Clifford followed Nathan's request and did as he was instructed. He submitted his immense wealth to the country.

Likewise, President Woods did not break his promise to Clifford. He sentenced Clifford to a lighter punishment of imprisonment for a lifetime.

"Bring him to jail," Garrett commanded indifferently as he looked at Clifford. Clifford's complexion was ghastly and haggard.

"Yes, President Woods!"

Clifford was escorted out of the room by a guard.

A fellow officer of the White House handed

Garrett an important document from the Cab. "President Woods, this is an important document. The Cab was unable to settle on a firm decision. Thus, they sent it to Chief Military Governor for him to decide," the officer said respectfully, "Unfortunately, the Chief Military Governor is not in Brimmopolis today. The workers at the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor sent this document here and await your further instructions." Garrett was a little stunned when the document was presented to him. "Why would they hand me a military document?"

Yet, realization dawned upon him when he picked it up and scanned through the pages.

The contents of the document from the Cab involved Nathan.

Various countries such as Ariarica, Ferropene, and Jetroina had formed an alliance to file a complaint.

They protested against Nathan's violent murder of various people, such as Simone and Asher, during the joint military exercise. In the document, they requested for Nathan to be held accountable for his actions. The countries demanded Eurasia to give them a satisfactory punishment for Nathan's actions.

Garrett laughed coldly when he finished reading the document. "How interesting. They come to our doorstep looking for trouble but complain when Nathan punishes them for their actions. Pete, don't you think this is hilarious?"

Pete was the resident clerk working in the White House under President Woods.

He dared not run his mouth on such sensitive topics regarding the country. Additionally, Pete knew that President Woods was highly capable of making his own decisions. It would be better if he kept his thoughts to himself. However, it would be impolite if he remained silent when he was addressed by the President.

"Many people in our own country have no clue that Nathan holds the title of Chief Military Governor. I'm sure that the foreigners are none the wiser as well," Pete replied with a smile, "They are under the impression that Nathan is the God of War and assume that he is no longer in power nor respected in the military. That is why they boldly asked for his punishment!"

"That's true," Garrett nodded his head in agreement, "If Ariarica replaces out that Nathan is the Chief Military Governor, they will not be protesting against Nathan alone. Instead, they will be going against Eurasia.

"Speaking of Nathan, he beg

shouldered many burdens and helped Eurasai immensely," Garrett added fondly.

"I have a rather childish idea to suggest. Mr. Woods, you can publicly punish Nathan for his actions. At the same time, you can award the Chief Military Governor as well," Pete proposed with a faint smile, "By punishing Nathan, you can pacify Ariarica's protests and give them satisfaction. If you award the Chief Military Governor, it shows that he still has your unwavering support. This should put Nathan at ease.

"That is a great idea! I shall follow your suggestion," Garrett beamed.

In the blink of an eye, the White House, Cab, and Military jointly issued two documents.

The first document outlined the details of

Nathan's punishment. It states that Nathan led the Dragon Warriors and harmed foreign forces in the July Festival. The foreign forces suffered many casualties after his attack. Thus, Nathan would face a hefty fine of a three-year confiscation on his salary as a penalty.

The second document congratulated the sacrifices and achievements of the Chief Military Governor. It states that the Chief Military Governor will be awarded the Hero's Medal in recognition of his efforts.

Very quickly, both of these documents were distributed to the government bodies of respective countries.

Finally, Nathan received the two documents in Channing.

He felt utterly bewildered when he finished reading the documents. President Woods was rewarding and punishing him at the same time.

Yet, he understood the meaning behind this conflict.

Penny was dumbfounded as she scrutinized the documents. She knew that Nathan was the Chief Military Governor. Nevertheless, why is he being punished and rewarded at the same time? Are they trying to warn Nathan?

Worriedly, Penny questioned Nathan about her concerns.

Nathan did not hesitate. He quickly told her about the protest from various countries and President Wood's ploy to pacify them.

Simultaneously, President Woods was awarding Nathan for his previous contributions.

When Penny finished listening to Nathan's explanations, her worries dissipated into thin air. "I see!" she laughed in response.
