Salute To The General -
Chapter 2214
Nathan and Penny came to a medicine shop to get something for Leah. Leah sprained her leg sometime earlier, and she was recuperating. The doctor wanted her to soak her feet in herb-infused water, since it would speed up the healing process.
Because of that, Nathan would come to the medicine shop with Penny every other day to get the medicine for Leah.
They came out from the shop after making their purchase and walked along the roadside as they made their way to the parking lot.
When they went past a florist shop, they noticed a young guy buying some flowers for his girlfriend. Penny looked at the flowers the girl was holding, and she wanted some too, so she glanced at Nathan. Nathan noticed the look in her eyes, and he smiled. "Give me a minute. I'll have to
get something."
Penny's heart leaped with joy, and she asked him happily, "What are you getting?"
Nathan smiled. "Cigarettes."
Penny's smile froze, and she grumbled, "Fine. I'll be waiting in the parking lot for you then." She left him alone without saying another word.
But not long after she left, she calmed down again. Well, we've been married for a long time now. It's fine if he doesn't get me any flowers. Besides, he's not a hopeless romantic. He doesn't really know about this kind of stuff.
After Penny left, Nathan smiled at her, then he went into the florist shop and asked the shopkeeper for their most beautiful rose. He bought it right away and went to the parking lot.
Nathan was a muscular man, and his eyes sparkled like the stars. He was the kind of man who looked better and better over time.
And he also had a different air about him, so when he went past the pedestrians, a lot of the ladies looked at him curiously, though when they saw the rose he was holding in his hands, they started getting envious of his girlfriend who managed to snag such a handsome man.
Nathan was feeling a bit awkward though. He thought buying flowers was a bit stupid, but since his wife liked it, he had no reason to refuse.
When Penny came to the sedan parked in the open parking lot, she realized that she had no keys, so she would have to wait for Nathan before she could get in.
It was then, eight cars suddenly showed up around her. The car in the lead was a Bentley, while the rest were black Audis.
Twenty-eight burly men came out of the Audis, and they came over to Penny. One of the men had a scar on his face, and he told Penny formally, "Ms. Smith, our young master requests for you." Ezra was the one in the Bentley. He opened the backseat door and invited Penny in with a smile.
Penny said coldly, "I'm sorry, but I have no idea who your young master is, and I won't get into someone else's car. Please leave right away, or my husband won't let you off that easily. He has a shorter temper than I do."
The man with the scar ignored what Penny said. He extended his hand calmly once more and told her, "Ms. Smith, my young master requests for you."
Penny looked at him coldly. "I told you, I don't know any of you, and I am not getting into your car."
The man with the scar squinted. "We have tried to be polite, Ms. Smith. But since you aren't giving us any choice, we will have to use force." He told his lackeys, "Take Ms. Smith into the car right away." The men were about to take Penny away by force, but then someone demanded coldly, "Stop it right there."
Everyone looked around, and they saw a muscular man coming over with a bouquet of roses in hand, but the look on his face was chilling enough to probably end global warming.
The man was none other than Nathan.
Penny was delighted to see Nathan coming to her rescue, and she flew into his arms. "Hubby!"
Nathan handed the rose over to her and smiled. "I bought this for you."
Penny was surprised that he would buy roses for her. She took it from him, but then she remembered the situation they were in, and she whispered, "Hubby, these men are obviously up to no good." Nathan looked at the people of the Blackwell clan, and Ezra had already come out of the car as well. He smirked at Nathan, thinking that he had everything under control. "Ah, so you are here as well, Mr. Cross. Good. Come with me, then."
Nathan asked coolly, "And why should we go with you?"
Ezra smiled. "Oh, I'm sorry. Where are my manners? I'm Ezra, the young master of the Blackwell clan. You killed two of our honorary elders and hurt our friend, Easton. I came here today to take you back to explain yourself to us, both the Blackwell clan and Mr. Camden."
Nathan sneered. "The Blackwell clan? Do you really think you can tell me to do whatever you want? You're nothing but trash."
Ezra's face fell. "Watch your manners, Nathan. You have no idea who you're dealing with right now."
