Following that, Lucy gave them the cake and left immediately.

Unsure of how to feel about what happened, Penny looked troubled.

Nathan calmly told her, "If you want to meet him and learn about your past, you should do it."

After a short pause, Penny muttered, "Hubby, can you go with me?"

Nathan smiled. "Sure."

As dusk fell, the street lights lit up.

At the Beach Club, Bowen quietly sat at a table. Under the dim lights, he held a glass of whisky in his hands and seemed to be deep in thought.

His advisor, Federick, stood respectfully by his side.

Meanwhile, Kristoff, Hades, and other assassins were waiting in a room on the second level.

Hades sat as still as a statue, and it was hard to guess if he had closed his eyes to rest or sleep.

Unlike him, Kristoff looked anxious. He muttered, "Nathan and Penny did not turn up last night. I wonder if they would come today..."

"You must have patience if you want to catch a big fish successfully," Hades commented.

With a bitter smile, Kristoff explained, "I might be patient, but my boss isn't. He has urged me on two occasions to help Mr. Camden acquire Cross Corporation and form a partnership with him."

At that moment, one of his subordinates burst through the door and reported, "Sirs, Nathan, and Penny have arrived."

Kristoff was elated to hear the news.

Similarly, Hades' eyes lit up behind the mask, and he grinned. "Our prey is finally here."

Nathan and Penny walked in through the door, and the first thing that Penny spotted was the lone lamp in the middle of the room.

A middle-aged man in a suit sat by the table with the lamp. He looked tall and appeared aged, although there was no doubt that he was once a handsome young man.

On top of that, Penny saw the resemblance between the man and her.

The moment her eyes landed on him, she felt her heart race. Her instincts told her that the man was Bowen Camden, her biological father.

She noticed only Bowen and an older man there and whispered to Nathan, "It seems like there isn't anyone here."

In response, Nathan surveyed the area and smiled at her.

He did not say anything even though he sensed more than three hundred men in the vicinity. Not to mention, every one of them was highly skilled too. Before long, Nathan and Penny were standing in front of Bowen.

As Bowen glanced at his daughter, there was a change in his eyes. With a complicated expression, he said, "Penny, you're finally willing to meet with me." Before Penny could say anything, Nathan coldly stated, "We chose to meet you here to give you a chance to explain yourself. However, you have let us down." Bowen could not help but frown at his words.

"Hubby, what's wrong?" Penny hurriedly asked.

Nathan replied, "Well, he has set up a trap here. If I'm not wrong, there are at least three hundred assassins surrounding the place."

What?

Penny's expression darkened, and she started to look around nervously.

In contrast, Nathan commented calmly, "Don't bother trying to replace them. They are hiding in the dark, probably waiting for their boss to give them the order to kill me."

Shocked and enraged, Penny glared at Bowen. "I thought you had your reasons for what you did and I wanted to hear you out. Little did I expect you to be such a despicable man. I can't believe you lured us here to ambush us."

Bowen did not expect that Nathan would be able to notice that the Gates of Hell's assassins were hiding in the shadows the moment he walked in.

Since the truth was out, he did not bother to keep up with his act. He narrowed his eyes and said, "Penny, I did not have any choice. You didn't want to meet with me, so I had to come up with a plan. Besides, Nathan killed Hades' top assassin and his daughter, so there is no way he would let Nathan walk away scot-free. Nathan has to pay. An eye for an eye, you get it? You will not benefit if you stay with him. So, just return home with me. With my power, I could arrange a better match for you."
