Chapter 2319

Mizuki suddenly raised her head and spotted Nathan and Penny in the crowd.

She glared at Nathan furiously. "It's you! You were the one who did it, right? It must be you!"

As she screamed, she scrambled to her feet angrily and pounced at Nathan.

However, before she could reach him, she was stopped by a few police from Jetroina.

A female police officer said to Mizuki sternly, "Hello, I'm Yasutake Naomi, chief of the criminal investigation unit in Jazona. I suspect that you're involved in multiple murders. Please follow us back to assist with the investigation. Here's the arrest warrant." As Yasutake spoke, she raised the arrest warrant in her hand.

Mizuki protested furiously, "My father is Matsuo Yori. If you dare to arrest me, you'll all be in deep trouble!"

Yasutake replied coldly, "You have the right to remain silent, but I'll be recording everything you say, which will be used in court. Hence, please be careful of what you say."

Mizuki knew that she was in trouble. However, she did not know how Nathan managed to investigate all of her deepest secrets and expose them to the public.

She turned around and instructed her bodyguard, who had just arrived, "Inform my father and tell him to get me a lawyer."

The latter replied, "Understood."

Mizuki finally calmed down. The police cuffed her hands and brought her away.

When she passed by Nathan and Penny, she stopped in her tracks and shot him a resentful glare. Her voice was laced with hatred as she growled, "Very well! How dare you play tricks with me in Jetroina? It'll be impressive if you can leave Jetroina alive." With that, she raised her head and strode away with a few police officers accompanying her.

The journalists rushed behind her and snapped photographs of her being shoved into the police car.

Frowning, Penny asked Nathan softly about what happened.

He did not conceal anything. Chuckling, he explained everything.

Only then did Penny realize that Mizuki wanted to sabotage her but ended up digging her own grave.

Nathan explained calmly, "Initially, I just wanted her to get a taste of her own medicine as a small punishment. I didn't expect her to be so wicked! A simple investigation revealed that she had been involved with multiple homicides. Hence, I informed the police in Jetroina. In doing so, I'm also helping the people here by eliminating such threats to society."

Penny nodded. However, she smiled bitterly and said, "But by doing so, we'd offend the Yori Corporation. Matsuo probably won't let this slide so easily."

Nathan assured her calmly, "I've already warned him about it. It's fine if he doesn't provoke me. But if he dares to do so, I'll kill my way through to the headquarters of Yori Corporation at Tiger Hall and destroy it."

Penny gazed at Nathan, who suddenly seemed so brave and dashing.

For a while, she fell into a daze looking at him.

Mizuki's arrest caused quite a commotion at the awards ceremony.

However, the organizers soon took control of the situation. The host announced that the award ceremony would continue.

In the end, Penny was awarded the World Peace Prize as expected.

Nathan took the lead and applauded first. The audience rose to their feet and clapped enthusiastically, congratulating Penny.

Wearing a medal around her neck and holding a certificate, Penny felt extremely proud. However, when her gaze landed on Nathan, who seemed even happier than her, she felt very touched. She knew that without his support, she would not have accomplished anything. While some rejoiced, others despaired.

When everyone was congratulating Penny for winning the World Peace Prize, Matsuo was having a vacation at Baykeep. Upon learning that his daughter had been arrested and was facing multiple charges, his expression looked even more serious than usual. He flicked his hands, and the few maids quickly retreated.

Only his right-hand man, Shigo Masumi, remained behind.

Lowering his head, Shigo did not even dare to breath loudly.

Matsuo asked grimly, "Are you saying that not only did Nathan not make his wife forfeit, but he also revealed my daughter's crimes in front of everyone, causing her to get arrested?"

Shigo replied timidly, "Yes, sir. Nathan also said..."

Matsuo demanded coldly, "What else

Shigo continued, "He said that it's better if you don't mess around with him. Otherwise, he'll destroy Yori Corporation."

Furious, Matsuo slammed his hand on the table, smashing the scented rosewood desk into pieces.

"How dare this b*stard from Eurasia act all mighty in Jetroina? Instruct Daichi to bring the Five Phantoms along and kill Nathan. Tell them that if they fail to kill him, there's no need for them to return to me." Shigo replied, "Yes, Mr. Matsuo!"
