Salute To The General
Chapter 2366

Marshall saluted toward Max the moment he saw the latter. "Good day, sir."

Max uttered, "There is no need for the formality. I came here for two things. I have sent my man to inform you through documents about the first one. We plan to send you to Eurasia and assassinate Nathan Cross, God of War of Eurasia." Marshall said with a low voice, "I heard he killed Commander Simone. It would be my honor to kill him for the country. I promise I will bring back his head."

Max nodded with satisfaction. "There is another thing. This is even more important, and it is classified."

Marshall stared at Max. Since it was a secret, he would not ask if Max did not voluntarily say it. That was the hidden rule in the army.

Max did not hide it from Marshall. "You are to release Layden Quillen, who is being held in the bottommost level of Demon's Island Prison.

Release him and send him back to his country."

Marshall was left in bewilderment upon hearing that name.

He immediately replied, "Cayden was the God of War of Eurasia twenty years ago. We managed to seize him after we sacrificed countless elites. Then, we locked him up at the lowest level of the prison. He was the scariest and strongest fighter that has ever appeared in Eurasia in this century. Even though we have him confined here, we feel as if we are locking up a nuclear bomb. Sir, if you let him go now, won't we be releasing a huge threat back into the world?"

Smiling, Max stated, "When you were on leave before this, I came here twice and even met Cayden. Even though he was God of War of Eurasia back then, his heart has become twisted after being held prisoner for so long. For twenty years, he waited for Eurasia to rescue him, only to be met with disappointment. I have made a deal with him. I will release him back to Eurasia, and I will even help him defeat the current Chief Military Governor of Eurasia. I will help him take back his throne and regain his honor. But in return, he will have to listen to Ariarica's orders after he gains control of Eurasia."

Marshall widened his eyes in shock upon hearing that. Is he going to put a puppet on the throne to control Eurasia?

The next moment, he asked, "Did Cayden agree with this? Let's assume he agrees now and successfully defeats the current Chief Military Governor. What if he regrets it after he sits on the throne?"

"Before I release him, I will inject the latest genetic poison into his body. Only Ariarica has the ability to cure this poison. Cayden will be like a dog to us. If he refuses to obey us, we can just put him down," Max explained with a smile.

The words delighted Marshall. "If that is the case, it will be beneficial for us to go with this plan."

Max grinned brightly. "After you arrive at Eurasia and kill Nathan, stay there. Try to assist Cayden and let him become the Chief Military Governor smoothly. At the same time, keep an eye on him. If something seems wrong with him, then you stop giving him the antidote and let him die of the poison."

Marshall responded, "Yes, sir!"

As they were discussing the matter, they had arrived at the bottommost level of the prison before they even realized it.

The temperature there was around zero degrees. It was freezing.

Shivering at the cold, Max complained, "Why did you turn this level into an ice cave?"

Marshall smiled. "Sir, don't you know that some animals such as snakes will become inactive in low temperatures? They will behave properly and will not create any trouble. We made this place like an ice cave to exhaust the prisoners' energy. If they have too much energy, who knows what kind of fuss they will create. As it turns out, our theory was proven correct. Layden spent his past twenty years imprisoned here in a hibernating state most of the time."

Soon, they arrived at the door of a jail cell. This particular door was one meter thick and could even withstand a missile.

Through the camera, they saw a man in white clothes with long hair and a beard lying on the ground, which was covered in ice chips. At first glance, no one could tell if he was asleep or had frozen to death.

Max signaled Marshall to turn on the speaker as he spoke to the man inside. "Mr. Quillen, it is time to wake up."
